  1. It never ceases to amaze me how much acclaim one can get for having tits and an ass. Pretty pics.
  2. Whitmore's a remarkable talent. He spun at the former Nation party on Long Island, and threw down some crazy shit. I was actually surprised. Not sure if he's produced anything thus far, but he's very talented in the booth.
  3. Haven't seen Big Daddy Kane perform in quite some time. The Juice Crew was unstoppable.
  4. Pioneer CDJ 2000? Damn, is there such a thing? The CDJ 1000s are definitely nice. The technics look insane. Haven't used them yet, but they're undoubtedly the most beautiful looking cd tables I've ever seen. Not sure if you like Denon, but many people like the DN-S5000's; they're also really great.
  5. I love the Denon DNS-5000's. I've used the Pioneer CDJ 800s and 1000s, but for some reason, I really like (and prefer) using the Denons.
  6. Depends on the weather conditions where I decide to live, and how much they fluctuate.
  7. You quoted my response in your response, which lead me to assume you were referencing it. What about it seems so familiar?
  8. Some of this shit is actually pretty stupid. This thread should be deleted. I'm not sure why Alan began a thread like this in the first place. I find it difficult to believe that someone of considerable age wouldn't know this thread would wind up turning into a circus show, bringing very unnecessary, negative attention to other peeps on the board who really don't deserve it. Alan, regardless of whatever may have happened between you two, this is just tasteless.
  9. Hurricane Oswald. Assemble the crew for some drinks and beats sometime soon. I've been trying to contact Rob, but he's a busy man. What are you guys up to this weekend? Hit me up at narwun@optonline.net I'll most likely see you guys Whiskey on the 2nd anyway.
  10. One track I will never be sick of. The R&G remix reminds me of some nasty Juniorverse nights. Good times.
  11. Musically, that's an excellent lineup. Definitely a good change for the venue.
  12. Boston Comedy Club is pretty good. I've seen some local and recognized comedians there over the past few years who were very good. Also, the atmosphere's pretty cozy, and the drinks aren't bad at all. It's located at 82 West 3rd Street (Between Thompson & Sullivan)
  13. Just picked it up on DVD (the unrated "Badder Santa" version). Probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in quite some time. Billy Bob's hilarious in the film, and the chubby little kid (Brett Kelly) is even funnier. One thing about the film that peaked my curiousity was the fact that the director never really went into the chubby little kid's background, or why he was so fanatically obsessed with Santa and/or Christmas in the first place. I suppose it's not really important, or integral to the comical elements of the movie. In fact, the kid's deadpan, unexplained disposition makes the film even funnier. It's just strange, because before Billy Bob and the kid become close, the kid just seems really odd, as if he's caught up in his own little world, and is unable to hear or understand anything that doesn't have to do with Christmas. It's interesing that the Kid is just presented as he is, without any real explanation. Also, Lauren Graham, an actress I never really cared for in the past, seems really appealing in this film, and is actually really beautiful. Her presence adds something sweet to the movie. Wonderful film, and well worth its dedication to the late John Ritter (whose final role in this film is simply wonderful).
  14. Jeff Jonas (Dj Escape) is doing afterhours this Sunday. Personally, notwithstanding the changing crowd, I like the afterhours there. But then again, I've always liked the small, dark vibe of the place. Check out www.discothequenyc.com - under "Upcoming Events." The hours are listed there as well.
  15. Freddy v. Jason, with the correct ending this time around: Jason rips Freddy a new ass.
  16. There is obviously a more negative, horrific flipside to the situation explained in my response. In fact, a clear and obvious recognition of that flipside was evidenced in my response. Learning from such situations is just as important as recognizing their dire flipsides. I'm still thankful to this day that I didn't wind up causing the death of anyone in that car, and I still look back on the experience and realize how easily I could have killed someone. The decision to drive home on that particular evening was one of the most ignorant decisions I've ever made in my life.
  17. I've been spinning as a hobby for well over 7 years now, and I've always favored vinyl. As of the last year and a half, however, I've been using cds. As was mentioned many times in this thread, both cds and records have their advantages and disadvantages. I still stick mostly to vinyl, since I'm able to find more of the rare house music I want on vinyl, but I never rule out buying and /or burning tracks on cd whenever I can. I use pretty simple, basic equipment - two technics 1210Mk2's, two Denon DN-S5000's (which have some incredible options, including alpha mixing), and a simple Gemini PS-01 3 channel mixer. I need to get a newer, better mixer.
  18. I'm not sure why I'm drawing a blank when I think of this track, but back in '98 or '99, there was a track released with voice samples from one of the prostitutes on the HBO series "Hookers on the Point." Throughout the track, there are samples of her saying things like, "Come on baby, keep fucking me or you gonna make my chocha dry," and "I'm the boss, now turn around, 'cause I want dat ass." There were also deep male voice samples throughout the song of a guy saying "Fuck." This was a fairly popular track, so I'm hoping it will be an easy i.d.
  19. The usage of the term "V-Day" cracks me up, because my school is hosting a students' rendition of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues," and they've been posting these flyers all over the place that read "V-Day is Coming."
  20. Kutekimee, call me before Sunday morning. If you want to head over to Disco, I'm game. Choo Choo's nasty on the decks, and this Sunday's probably the last time I'll be able to venture out for at least a few months.
