  1. well guys, I am sad to inform you that this horrible rumour is true. Steve Lawler will not be heading into the US to begin his support tour today of Dark Drums 2. Unfortunately due to the sept 11th terroism the US has not granted renewels on expired working visa's which will illiminate steve from entering the US. I wish we could have brought you this news sooner but we were only informed over the weekend from Balance Promote group that there was a potential problem...(I find this amazing since we are Steves US record label) Anyways, as for the Ft lauderdale event tonight at Stereo : I hope all of you will still come down and have a wicked halloween with the bliss family. We have decided to make tonights event a completely FREE event for all patrons. We will also be giving free bliss mix CD including copies of Dark Drums 2 to every guest through the door~ Tonight is our grand opening and I am totally upset that Steve will not be there but I hope all of you locals will come out to support a good cause.....We are working our hardest to bring you the best possible talent on a weekly basis so lets make tonight, our grand opening, a successful one.....I promise you all wicked tunes and a wicked vibe... In fact Stereo has installed a brand new EAW sound system (just like space) in the venue and from what I hear, it totally rocks....upcoming events from bliss @stereo include anthony pappa, tarrantella v Redanka, Mike Hiratzka, Austin Leeds, plus a very special guest too be announced...I promise you'll be excited with this one...we also feature our weekly residents, myself, Jon Cowan and Kahhz(correy malloy).... 4. umm chynado11, i hate to burst your bubble, but just about every dj that played at or were residents at twilo, were playing here in miami on a regular basis way before nyc. in some cases YEARS before twilo even existed. and i'm not just talking about WMC. danny howells, dave seaman, sasha and digweed, anthony pappa come to mind. hell twilo just improved on what groovejet had built. if it wasn't for someone at twilo having solid music taste, nyc would still be a step behind. sorry to sound so crass, but i'm sick and tired of nyc thinking they discovered good music. it's kinda like thinking the world didn't exist til the day you were born. i know it's hard to believe, but there was a prog scene before nyc discovered it. oh, and next time you see danny tenaglia, ask him about a place called cheers.

    Rain??

robbie rivera opens up rain on sat night.
  6. anthony pappa and jon cowan on nov 21 at stereo, ft laud dave seamam and jon cowan on nov 23 at crobar good enough?
  7. i'm going.... and if anybody talks to stacy, please tell her to check her friggin email!
  8. i'm pleasently suprised on how much i like the deep dish. i wasn't expecting much of this one, but so far after about 3 listens i like it! but the real corker is that craig richards cd. too bad it's going to be next to impossible to find over here.
  9. the tampa s&d date was never any more than a discussion. the date was kicked around then leaked without any futher knowledge. somebody jumped the gun on that one bigtime.
  10. lee's date in orlando has been cancelled due to him wanting to play in nyc instead. as far as i know the miami date is still on. sasha and john will be playing in folorida, unfortunately i'm not at liberty to say when and where...
  11. -cass prologue -ashley casselle deviations (disc 2) -sander kleinenberg nu breed ...and with a limited amount of listens so far to each of these brand new and/or future releases: -fabric 01 mixed by craig richards (to be released in november) -deep dish GU moscow (to be released end of this month) -parks and wilson painting on silence (just released this week) oh and i forgot to add: the album i've been listening to since late this summer! new order get ready!
  12. thanks for the props stacy!
  13. yeah josh wink!!! he's got a sound that would really spread it's wings in that room. he's playing tampa thanksgiving weekend. maybe you could get him to swing by on saturday night?
  14. sasha and john. either/and/or. it's about time these guys make an appearance in miami. these guys used to rule florida and i'm tired of nyc getting all the credit for "discovering" them. james zabiela and steve gerrard. 2 muzik magazine ericson bedroom bedlam winners (2000 and 2001) take a chance. you WON'T be dissapointed. ashley casselle. you guys keep booking scott bond, now just include the proper opening dj in the set (you have in the past). casselle is gatecrasher's best kept secret! florida's own talent starting w/ dj three. the guy is a must. ask mr d'vox if you don't believe me. then bring in a quality night of jimmy van m and chris fortier together. these 2 back to back on the decks are something special. better then sasha and digweed imo. danny howells. he's been blowing the roof off the soon to be legendary 'made' parties going since the closing of twilo in nyc. if somebody would give sander kleinenberg a chance, i'm sure the miami crowd would warm up to his sound quite nicely. check his nubreed for proof. you need to add tenagila to a monthly rotation. he's hands down your biggest draw. and the he's the ONLY dj that can truely pound that system in there the way it's meant to be heard. hold on to deep dish as well, those guys love playing here, and we love them back. their new GU will make them superstars! i know you guys get nervous about booking "lesser known" dj's, but if you lighten up on the door policy, you'll get more true music lovers in that joint. i know it's a money making move to shoot for the VIP crowd. but lets face it, they don't care too much about who's on the decks. if space changes to a music first policy the way twilo did, let the people come in w/ trainers, jeans etc your club has limitless possibilities. honestly, your door policy has put a dark cloud both over your club and our scene on an international level. i hate having to defend our city against this when i so love our scene. the potential of this venue is incredible. leave the VIP over at your new (old 320) location. make a legendary club for EVERYONE downtown! see you at deep dish.
  15. i've been clubbing in many parts of the country where pat downs are the norm everytime you walk in the door. i've never seen any complaints or problems with this. if you see or have had a problem with it, please explain what it is in a little bit more detail. it's already common to be patted down at concert and sporting events at the arena's in this area. i don't hear any complaints anytime i go to one of these events. the only time i've even seen anything questionable in terms of a pat down, is when the cops are outside of raves searching for pills. what was questionable about it was making people throw away chapstick or packs of gum. hardly anything to worry about. what i'm looking for are bombs, guns things like that. i don't think you'll be asked to take off your clothes for a quick pat down for something large and heavy. put it in perspective here.
  16. i know this may raise a eyebrow or 2, and even meet w/ a fair bit of opposition, but for the safety of all your patrons, i think it would be a good idea to start frisking all people at the door and checking peoples bags. i know this would be a pain in the ass, and slow things up on the already slow doors, but for the safety of all involved, please consider this. i personally don't mind being slowed up and patted down if it means that we are all safer. considering all thats going on, i feel this is the least we could all do. thanks!
  17. sorry to bring bad news, but unfortunately james has cancelled due to the "war".
  18. oh yeah, forgot to mention, both steve and james are regular side room residents for john digweed's bedrock night in london. enough said.
  19. if you go to the archives section of the groovetech site and type zabiela in the artist search, you'll be able to listen to 5 or 6 more of his archives from this spring and summer. i also recommend searching for steve gerrard's sets as well! if promoters here in miami were smart, they'd book these guys in conjunction w/ muzik magazine for a few sets. steve was muzik mag's bedroom bedlam dj of the year 2000, and i'll be willing to bet that james will win this year. both of these guys will play for cheap as well!!! THINK ABOUT IT!
  20. i'm pretty sure (95%) that nyc date is incorrect. off by one day. so that would throw off the boston date as well....
  21. i can't believe that nobody has listened to this set and commented. james will be as big or bigger then most of the dj's currently being worshiped. mark my words!!! anyway, here's the tracklist for this set. if you guys wanna hear the future, click on the link above. i think you'll hear why sasha signed james immediately to his excession label. taken from www.groovetech.com 1. 22. understandable. sorry for getting offended. peace. shroomy here's your review. i didn't think this was a review thread. but.... the night was in conjunction w/ release from san francisco. i was actually hoping for a bit more toned down evening, but by the time i arrived berhouz was pumping the sounds pretty hard. think danny tenaglia around 5 am during conference at 135+. although i felt many of his tracks were a bit dated (if i hear bagio one more time i'm gonna puke) ranging over the past 2 years. i was very happy to hear a couple of classics mixed in. 'new day' and the deep dish mix of 'rise' made my night . i havn't heard either one out for a while. but by far the track of the evening was the new tenaglia toon. i can't remember the name of it, but danny also played it on sept 2 around 6 in the morning. not many people have it yet, but it's gonna be HUGE! behrouz's mixing most of the time was spot on, but he seemed to have soem issues coming off the decks going into a cd. his direction seemed to pick up later in his set around 3:00am. he also played a remix of an old opus III track. well, not really a remix but a new track w/ the old vocals sampled in. that worked really well, but by that time the crowd was dwindling down into the low 100's . overall a good night. but not great. behrouz will be playing the opening slot's for DT on the west coast tour the end of oct. closing at the mayan theater in LA on halloween night (venue where digweed placed his last GU from.)
  23. ummm i think the news flash shoud be.... i didn't go there because of their "night". try for the music and the dj from san francisco that was on... can you guys crawl any futher up your own asses?
  24. this is the event my money is on for being the best music in town this weekend! for those of you that don't know, austin is currently signed to john digweed's bedrock label and just returned from a headlining tour of australlia and new zealand. khazz has thrown down some wicked sets at the last couple of bliss parties. i know i've seen a few of you in there listening to him! if you wanna hear some serious music come out for this event!
  25. i'm going to see austin leeds at stereo tonight. i went to crobar last night for behrouz and the crowd was pretty thin.
