  1. Please make it one of the best nights you've ever had and give it your best vibe. Just remember, last year the mayor and city gov. meant to shut it down permanently. They were serious. They came back again this year and took away it's liquor license. U know why?? A club without a liquor lic. can't make money and goes bankrupt. Somehow, TUNNEL has SURVIVED. And it's here with us and this Saturday should be one of the best nights it's ever had if we make it so. So if you love clubbing, and music, and the scene come and show ur support for one of NYC's most legendary, living nightclubs--- THE TUNNEL!!!!!. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  2. Hey Tranza, I've also been to PVD, Cox, Seaman, Jr, B&S, , Oakenfold parties. Im just more openminded about music, that's all. As far as I care, NYC cheeze house music is fine with me. I love that KTU and Tsettos shit too and buy those tracks myself. Music is not something I'll ever take so serious like it's academic or something. Fuck that. If I like a record, it's all that matter. As for DT, never been to one of his party but I've got one of his CDs and I love it. As for SF, never been there 'cause i've heard they got door policy there. i can't deal with that shit though I love JP music. maybe one of these days I'll have more courage and go there. as for TUNNEL, hopefully it'll make a huge comeback one day so everybody will shut up and stop putting it down. it's a great club-- as for those other clubs like webster hall, etc,,so what? they're clubs too. WH even brings Taucher in there so don't tell me they don't have good music I still need to check out S&D, DT at Vinyl and JP At SF which Im sure I would love but Im open to everything else too. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  3. Steven Zor goes back with Tunnel a long time now and has been there through highs and lows. Gotta give him credit for that. And he's a real party dude. Sometimes I've felt the best party was going on inside the dj booth. Once I saw him running around with a flower pot on top of his head inside the booth. Anyway, he's not as bad as people make him sound to be. I've enjoyed his sets. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  4. is there such a thing as "natural" E--you know, just a regular substance w/o mdma which makes you feel the same?? how about an activity like sex or exercise?? does it compare??? just curious, i've never tried E ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  5. It was Saturday night and I wanted to check out a new place and do something different so I went to Cheetah for my first time. Get there at 10pm, Im the first one standing on line, by myself. And it's starting to rain. Anyway, first bad point--the doorman start giving me b.s. about my NY state ID. Please,,I've never had any problem with my ID. Ok, then they only start letting in groups with girls. I understand that and I hate sausage parties but it's RAINING--WTF, and it's already half an hour later. It would have been just basic courtesy to let your customer in. Anyway, I had enough bullshit and walked away. Feeling disappointed I thought my night was over but ended at ClubNY for an off-the hook latin party with lots of hot babes. Had a great time. So to Cheetah--you may have your door policy, but I have a strict door policy too which is: If you give me b.s. at the door I'll never patronize you again--let alone give you my money. Fuck--next Saturday Im headed to the TUNNEL. Now that's HOME to me. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  6. For me it has to be Paul Oakenfold at the ROXY Thanksgiving '99. Everything seemed to come perfectly together for that party and the vibe of that place was magical. You could still feel it as you stood on line for the coatcheck when it was over. I've seen Oakie twice since then and nothing has compared. I don't think that he could pull it off again even if he intentionally tried. Some nights just have a life of their own and can never be repeated. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  7. ok,,my review The crowd there is starting to look like Exit Saturdays--a 21+ crowd--there were some hotties in there so that was good. The first dj started playing some kind of tribal-don't know what to say-house music and got me anxious by 1--when the good music started coming. Don't know if that was Tsettos--it could have been. Heard some tracks like I turn to you,,Somewhere over the rainbow etc. So definitely the music started pumping. Though Fridays are not yet at full potential, Tunnel Fridays are looking way better than last year. It got sparse at times, though. The club itself is starting to look great. They just added another set of screens right in front of the regular ones. Looks great. Plus other designs all over, including the bar exterior was redone. It was a good night overall. Now next Saturday should be the big one. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  8. Yup,,the on top is having a great time. Makes me want to be in Cancun or SouthBeach. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!

  10. Hey Kitty,,Im sure that was probably the same night 'cause I never missed a Saturday at the TUNNEL during the Fall of 99. Small world,,he he ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  11. Some of the tracks and the clubs where I heard them.. Spring 99: "Ecstacy" "It's Not Right But That's OK" "Someone to Hold" At Webster Hall Saturdays..Those tracks were slamming back then. Fall 99: "Vulcan" "That's the Way Love Is" At the TUNNEL..one Sat. night at 4am,,awesome Winter 99/2000: "SANCTUARY,,Level 5" "Move Your Body" At EXIT..Tsettos loved to play Level 5. Love that track. Summer 2000: "Im in Love" at Exit last Saturday played by Mundy. Boris played a trancy track by JV about 2 weeks ago. Forgot the name--it's out now, though. And i got to experience a Johnny Vicious set for my first time: Spring 2000 at EXIT. It was a packed, off the hook party. Great night. Any other great tracks by J. Vicious I don't know about?? Needless to say, Im looking forward to Aug. 19th at The TUNNEL. Should be another party to remember. TUNNEL should be slamming for the fall/winter. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!! [This message has been edited by turntable (edited 08-11-2000).]
  12. And can you think of a party that has a great vibe. I just want to see if we all agree as to what this word means. Once a bartender at a club told me "Oh, there's a bad vibe here tonight" while I thought everything was OK. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  13. I've always loved and always will love TUNNEL. My all-time favorite club. 'Cause when it's on 100%, it drives me nuts. Other than that--EXIT does it for me. It's great, modern, and love that rooftop. Twilo got a kick-ass sound system so I like it a lot too. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  14. I know they make great music and shit...but please this is NY. And don't forget where all this shit started from anyway. Here and Chicago. Kind of pathetic that some people feel they can only get their kicks by listening to Euro djs. BORING!!! In another post B2B wrote that HOME might be looking into buying the TUNNEL...Please. HOME even in the same space would never compare to what TUNNEL was and can be. 1000x lamer if u asked me. Nothing beats a NY Party. Period. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  15. As far as Im concerned this is the PARTY of the summer. That place will be slamming that night. Think about it--Johnny Vicious's residency is about the most important one to come about in a NYC nightclub for sometime. Plus all the other rooms will be blasting with about 13 djs. Johnny Vicious, his record shop inside the Tunnel, and the grand opening of this party--Please--you would be NUTZ to miss out on it. As for those that think that TUNNEL is dead--in your dreams. Let me know the day after that party if you still feel the same. Im sure you won't. Anyway, EVERBODY (and their mami too) will be there. Including me. Johnny Vicious at the TUNNEL August 19th. A new chapter in the life of this club. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  16. Or something along that line on Labor day weekend?? It was at the very end of Body&Soul party, that the lady made the announcement. Him making a special benefit performance. Anyway, the B&S crowd kind of booed at the idea--I thought it would be great. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  17. I got there around 1:20 and the lines were already huge. I was surprised. Word must have gotten around 'cause that place was packed. B&S is getting BIG I guess. Never been there though on Sundays at Vinyl. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  18. Actually, I don't think that things look too bad at Tunnel. First of all, it got its liquor license back. That was the most crucial factor. Hip-hop Sundays are back, and they probably make money with that party. Trust me, Saturdays with Johnny Vicious should be really good. And Fridays may drag but at least it gives Djs a gig to play, and eventually it will start to catch on. Plus they got Jackie in there. Just for her Im going there next Friday. Most clubs have a short life span anyway. It's only to its credit that this club has been around almost 14 years now. That's 'cause it's good. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  19. AWESOME,,,,There's nothing like partying under a water hose. Perfect day. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  20. Tunnel Fridays are tough. And with places like Exit packing it up, Tunnel is left behind.I remember last year the few times I went on Friday--mostly dead. Two weeks ago it was good 'cause it was the reopening party but I guess it's going back to what it used to be. As for Saturdays, that's a different story. And two weeks from now--Saturdays should be slamming. Tunnel Fridays?? What could be done there?? Obviously, Baez is not going to cut it. They need someone like Ojeda or Boris there. They need to bring special guest djs like George Acosta once in a while and have more live performances. Etc..And yes, a big international dj on non-pvd and s&d nights would help too. Other than that, don't know. Maybe massive raves?? my .02 cents. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!

  22. Vicious starts Saturday August 19th Once there was Junior Vasquez, then Danny Tenaglia now: JOHNY VICIOUS..Be there!!! ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  23. Saturday, August 19th--- Johny Vicious takes over the T*U*N*N*E*L 13 djs, 6 rooms and the opening of "beyond bass record store" inside tunnel TUNNEL like you've never seen it before, be there!!! A True NEW YORK party. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  24. He he,,, you take Tunnel Fridays and Im going to take Tunnel Saturdays and promote the shit out of it on this board. BTW, Im not a promoter. I happen to think that Johny Vicious at TUNNEL is club history in the making. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
  25. To experience the Body -n- Soul set, you have to be there before 1:30 'cause that when it starts. It lasts uninterrupted until 3:15 when live performances start. The djs come back for small fill-in and closing sets. Definitely, the Djs will be the highlight of the day. So be there on time. Gotta say, though, that last year was great. ------------------ There must be a party going on around here!!!
