  2. remember to check out the pinky room downstairs, it's kewl
  3. Schweet Vejita, i'll look for it. Fromage -- LOL
  4. DD was lacking. there were some bright spots, but as pooh said, very inconsistant. and the energy level just was not there While DD were MUCH better than their December appearance, it just didnt feel like an ON night at Twilo. I only caught the last 30 minutes or so of S&P's set, but I liked what they were doing. somewhat dark but definately upbeat. Midiman, my long lost Lawler buddy, where did ya disappear to?
  5. Tsuanami parties can be a lot of fun. Shame it changed venues though: The World...ehhh EZ -- glad to see you are trying out new things I for one am growing tired of gush gush kush kush as well. Vejita -- yeah, he's back in the saddle again! oh, dont forget to send me the email about Wednesday too.
  6. Count me in. It's been a while since I've gone to an *offical* meetup. Plus, I'll be in Princeton NJ for a week of corporate training so i'll need to let off some steam among some like minded folk.
  7. Just tell me when you want me to swing by and take you to the cracked-out clinic... pooh could use some company....
  8. Was there a couple weeks ago with Furnace & Friends. See if there is an Earth party. Heard Kremlin was good on Sat, but Chemistry is pretty mainstream -- kinds like Webster Hall is to NY I should imagine. Check out Xpander.nl -- to find out what is going on.
  9. Hits stores on April 10 Pooh, have you heard it yet? I've listened to the second disk and it's sweet. He was great at Twilo, but sounds like you had an amazing time in Miami. You still coming back on Friday since its just Diggers and no Sasha? Wait, that was a silly question now wasnt it
  10. Seems as if the last two weeks there has been wide ranging views on how the DJs were (first Howells, now Nick and Sander). It's refreshing to hear some differing opinions -- we dont all have to love everything that Twilo serves to us. For myself, it was one of the best nights I have had at Twilo. Except for previously stated big-ass trainwreck, Warren did a fine job. Furnace, I dont know who you were listening to but Warren stayed pretty mainstream and if anything lifted the pace and energy level of the crowd so much, he didnt leave Sander much room to go higher. But Sander found a way. Unlike others, I loved every moment of his set. Granted for a half hour or so, some peeps were standing around waiting for his set to go someplace, but I didnt have that problem. He played deep, funky grooves but with more movement and life in them than what Howells played last week. I remember looking at my watch at 6 and thinking how crowded the place still was even with so many usuals in Miami. I think it speaks a lot to Sander's ability. The last two hours were insane. I wish I had more energy left to dance, but I had a pretty special perspective at that point and wasnt about to head back to the dancefloor. What ya'll think of Placebo's Passive Aggressive -- BIR mix? Hook "concentrate concentrate, it's in your reach..." Phat track! Also, did you guys hear Sander's mix of Sorcchio -- it's going to be on his NuBreed (which got pushed back to early April, BTW) Noiseboy -- thanks for saving me at the end there. Abgrover -- great seeing you out last night, you'll have to come out more often Vejita & Friends -- as always, you guys are the best!
  11. Don't talk about the Dutch dreamboat that way! Vejita doesnt know what he is talking about. True Sander started off slow, but he played the whole night while Nick did three hours. Vejita was too tired and miss the last two hours of Sander's set, which kicked arse! Try not too overextend yourself and miss out this time around Jesse... "Concentrate ... it's in your reach"
  12. Surprised to see nothing about Emerson & Yousef at Centro-Fly last night...or did most peeps who went head straight down to Miami in the morning?
  13. Thanks Sam I must have missed that thread So inquiring minds, this is what the Twiloites pieced together (attributed to our very own shadowchaser) In [brackets] is other suggested lyrics... love in traffic robot police they like pornographic girls & dope beats [i thought this was pornographic bells and doggies] love in traffic love in traffic skylight nowhere soporific [sorrow grieving] put a gun in my hand and pretend you don't care said i'm walking through you baby please stay silent put a gun in my hand and pretend you don't care ooh i'm walkin' through you baby please stay silent Where's the following phrase?: love in traffic smiling hostess love in traffic ultra vilolent red electric put a gun in my hand and pretend you don't care put a gun in my hand and pretend you don't care i've been thinkin' & drinkin' that's why i'm a mess i've been thinkin' & drinkin' that's why i'm a mess put a gun in my hand and pretend you don't care ooh i'm walkin' through you baby please stay silent love in traffic [i think this should be: love in traffic speed emotion] love in traffic on my way to oblivion ????? 15. ah, we are piecing it together, nice do you know where to get a hold of the original version by s.t.? never heard it before and it would also be interesting to how john creamer changed/added/mixed the track.
  16. Yes sir, pooh bear! We gotta hold down the fort while all you veteran clubbers attend the conference. Don't want Nick and Sander to think -- what's all this fuss about Twilo, the crowd is whack. Sdm1976 -- wassup girl? havent seen you in ages.
  17. Yeah, that's all I know too. Pooh -- nice sig line there, brings back college memories. Have fun in Miami you crackhead
  18. It's been bugging me for ages. I know she's in traffic, she's was in love and now she has a gun (maybe she's stuck in a car in LA) Just kidding, but please fill in the blanks....
  19. Went two years in a row. Always a great time. Go there and discover new acts. Wander around from stage to stage, you never know what you are going to hear. It's a great atmosphere, nice weather and soulful sounds. (Ironically, there is less traditional jazz there than any other type of music) Dont forget abou the food. Some of the best food I've had in New Orleans has come from those vendors. Since portions arent so big, you can sample many delightful dishes. Get one of those portable chairs though, makes it much easier. Have fun!
  20. Furnace Sander was good, but I think you are overstating the facts a little bit there. What about Howells, Digweed, Tenaglia or the reclusive Sasha. Sander has a ways to go before he reaches the level of those DJs. For those not heading to Miami, Nick and Sander will certainly put on show. Lets show them some support!
  21. Funky! Where ya been my brother? Thought I'd see you out all the time since you've got back to NYC. All I gotta say is I better see you at Danny Howells on Sat March 17! He is THE man. (if any DJ would get you to Twilo on a Saturday -- this is the one, trust me!) Bring James too!
  22. Yeah, since this is a Wall Street meetup we cant have it during trading hours. My vote is for Thursday drinks after-work. We could even head into Tribeca and hit Liquor Store Bar or Tribeca Tavern or Mary Ann's (formerly known as Gloria's)
  23. I picked it up last week @ HMV. Saw some tracks from it on Napster and thought it would be a good CD to have. While I am enjoying it, it is a far cry from NuBreed -- I dont think it will have the staying power. But it reflects more of a set he spins at a club than NuBreed though (at least from the two times I have seen him @ Twilo) But I'm also a sucker for a complilation that has Lawler's Rise In in it.
  24. Totally would have gone but Lawler kicked my ass on Friday. Saw him open for Oakenfold in July and he was amazing. Too bad he came on such a packed weekend. Lawler on Friday and Tiesto and Gatecrasher on Saturday probably kept some peeps away. So, how was he?
  25. Tiesto delivered much more than I expected. I was much confused when he started playing some harder progressive house, but it worked. Even though he was somewhat cheesey, the happy hard trance was a nice departure from the progressive house that I hear and love so much nowadays. I think the stars of the shows are those lasers. During Silence we were dancing on the catwalk opposite the DJ booth (behind the stage) and the green laser was aimed right at us. Amazing. I was totally engulfed by the laser (and I wasnt even messed up) But that thing in Twilo and OMFG.... Kim & Melissa -- great hanging out with you. We'll have to hit Twilo next time for some REAL beats... Didnt know that was JV spinning after Tiesto....cool.
