  1. No doubt dark and deep is good. Look no further than Diggers. But DD wasnt doing it for me. But glad others had a great night.
  2. 3 AM meetup, most definately. anybody know who's spinning first? Timo or DD? vejita, LOL about the ottoman. but you have those comfy bean bag chairs, dont forget about those...and proximity to Twilo is a plus. mrnice...congrats on your elevated status..
  3. You have probably heard other big name DJs play a lot of tracks he produced. Ubik, Der Schreiber (sp?), Riding On a Storm, and the Dooms Night mix. He's on the deeper, darker funkier side of trance. I should imagine he'll be a nice complement Deep Dish. Saw Timo last month @ Twilo, and while he isnt't the best mixer in the world, his track selection was sweet and I had a great time.
  4. This is NOT a joke: Target has Red Bull, $1.99 a pop. I started laughing like a mad woman when I saw it sitting on the shelf next to the Gatorade. If they sold 5HTP, I be set -- well almost
  5. Just curious as to how funny they were... especially the MTV one -- "I'm on E"
  6. From Monday's WSJ: "From nowhere, an industry races to the top of the stock charts, its benchmark index up sizzling 39% in less than a year. Nasdaq tech stocks? Try utilties" -- they may be boring, but defensive, cyclical stocks are making money. It pays to have a diversified portfolio kiddies. B2B -- agree with you. Long term, tech will still be king, but the former leaders like Dell will be replaced. PC Stocks are dead. The storage guys like EMC and others will weather the storm. We should have a Wall Street drink meetup sometime. We sometimes hit foxhounds in WFC1, but tend to take a short trip to Tribeca for Gloria's or Tribeca Tavern, much better atmosphere than the places down here.
  7. Good job. Havent been there in ages, but I remember its a fun place. Wed works for me Count me in. Finally, I'll be able to make a dinner meetup.
  8. I know somepeople would think this is crazy, but I took a 2-week road trip through Tennesse, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana about a year ago. Had a great time! ((This is lengthy)) First off, if you want to get a guidebook, get the Lonely Planet guide to the Deep South -- that was my bible. Lots of great places on off-the-beaten track. Definately do a swamp tour in Lousiania, but not the kind near new orleans on a big boat. I went to Layfayette -- Cajun Country -- and did a small tour on a row boat. It was amazing. Also stayed in a swamp cabin (Really, we were in the swamp!) about an hour from New Orleans As for Mississippi -- favorite place was Oxford. Univ of Miss is there, it's a great college town. Driving throught the Miss Delta was very eye opening. When driving take secondary roads -- it gives you a better feel for the place than the highways. Also, the Natchez Trace is a scenic highway, and it meanders to its fun to drive. Natchez is pretty to go around. As for Alabama, didnt really do much there except stop in Birmingham. They have a great Civil Rights Museum there. Very upto date with interactive video/film footage -- very moving. OF course the highlight of your trip should be the food and music. Had some of the best Cajun, Southern, BBQ food ever. And the best blues too. The guidebook highlights lots of places to check out. IF you want more details, PM me. As you can see I have a lot to say on the subject.
  9. Hey there fellow Gatecrashers! It was classic Gatecrasher progessive sounds from Guy Ornadel. No journey, no buildups or anything, just pounding tunes again and again. Caught BlueAngel's and Blackraver's glow stick show during Guy's set. You guys are AMAZING. Was that laser not the shit? I loved being in the middle of the dancefloor and just getting lost in the laser, especially when it cast that wide circle. And those triangle sheets, wow. Tranza, I agree with you about Ms. Collins. While I didnt think she killed it or was that bad, her set had no direction for me. And to close with Rank 1, c'om some orginality here please. Since she's closed her Trancesport CD with that song, it's so played out. Just didnt do it for me. Oh, and she spun Duran Duran's Ordinary World near the end -- an odd choice. Flithy slagg (suneil)-- great meeting you and your gf and her friend. Not4kids -- always fun running into you Sorry didnt meet anyone at the meetups. looked around with Vejita and not4kids for peeps, but came up empty. While I generally prefer the music and vibe at Twilo, you gotta give to Limelight in terms of the venue. All the hallways, rooms and balconies, just make for a fun trip. Did anyone else notice that on the main dancefloor there is a definate slope upward on the right side of the dancefloor? It threw my balance off -- made me feel like I was dancing uphill. Okay, this is probably too much information, but I'm throwing it out there.
  10. In summary: 2 am -- behind the DJ booth AND/OR 3 am -- second floor bar (not the enclosed skybar, but the one just above the main enterance to the main dance floor) See ya'll there I'll have a black and orange shirt on with the trademark orange sneaks in full effect.
  11. oakey only spun for 2 hours? same deal at roseland this summer too and who closed the set oakey or emerson?
  12. hey there rounders Welcome to the board. you dont know what you are getting yourself into. hehehheh it was cool hanging with you last night BTW, I love your tongue piercing. Your mom must have gone nuts! And your grandma is a hoot "Do I annoy you?"....."Yes, grandma" HAH
  13. I think it's safe to say that the only peeps who are at work today -- and on this board -- have something to do with Wall Street. You know its a slow day and those daytraders are up to something when ETYS is up nearly 50% on NOTHING, nadda, zippo.
  14. I'm doing the low-key thing tonight Going to a friends for some wine & cheese then heading over to Central Park West to watch them blow-up the balloons. Sure its going to be freezing out, but the wine should solve that problem. Been heavy on the clubbing recently. need to balance it out with other activities....until Saturday night that is.
  15. Vejita, Dont know if that's the skybar, but let's pick that spot to meet. To sum it up: TIME: 3am WHERE: Bar on the second floor, right above the main entrance to the dance floor. ((If looking out over the floor, the skybox/VIP thing is to the right and the DJs should be on the stage to the left))
  16. Twilo bc of the talent, the banging sound, the light. But 95 Leonard is a nice change of pace.
  17. Thats what I thought; but there is a bar on off of the second-floor balcony. Vejita, remember when you hit GC last month, where did you meet up with folks?
  18. I forgot Guy's name momentarily, that's why I said friends Okay, where shall we meet. Wasnt there at meetup for GC at the SkyBar? How did that local work? --It's Thanksgiving Weekend, everyplace is going to have a sizable crowd.
  19. Ah good to know Sat is the better night. I'll take a pass on Monday then It's 92.7 on the FM dial
  20. Okay Who's going to have enough energy left to make it to Gatecrasher @ Limelight for Sandra Collins & friends on Saturday? How about a 3am meetup someplace?
  21. It was around 10 - 11 on Monday, Nov. 20 Always wanted to check out Russ's show, but I'm not up at 3am on a Monday. Still catching up on sleep lost from the weekend
  22. Was listening last night (Monday), cause every once in a while they play something good, but whoever is DJing cant mix for shit. He ruined, I mean ruined Doom's Night (Timo Maas mix) I was yelling at the radio it was so unbelievable. I shut it off and put on Music for the Maasses just to hear how that song should be mixed (Just wanted to vent and/or see if anyone else was listening)
