  2. Haa...right after I posted that, I got the email from Ken for Core. In case you don't get it weyes: Welcome to Core Event Group's newsletter for the week of Dec 13th. CORE would once again thank all of our friends who came out last week to CORE. With special Hard-CORE thanks going out to Basic, John Curley, Azra, and Scott Blackwell. Even though we weren't in our venue we had that vibe that everyone is talking about. We are very excited for this week's event. We have a feeling that December 13th will be our best event yet. We have a special treat for your eardrums and happy feet. CHARLES FEELGOOD (djfeelgood.com,Baltimore,MD) Djmixed.com/djfeelgood now available in stores on Moonshine Records. Charles Feelgood put the Baltimore and Washington DC rave scene on the map. Back in 1990, with his then partner Scott Henry, Feelgood co-produced and launched his now legendary hometown club Fever, introducing Baltimore/DC to featured DJs including Sven Vath, Dave Clark and Derrick Carter. As quoted in the September, 2000 issue of Urb, " Fever& went on to form the cornerstone of the Baltimore/DC rave scene". It was through Fever that Feelgood embarked on a DJing career that has so far extended over a decade, which shows no signs of slowing down. Feelgood's ability to drop kick-ass House music conveniently allows him to crossover between raves and clubs with ease and it is this talent that has enabled him to consistently rake in the praise and admiration from fans and fellow DJs alike. It was from this exposure with Feelgood's vibrant personality and banging peak hour House sets, one can't help but be a fan. PAULI P (Studio 64, paulipresents.com, SD) As a major contributor to the Southern California music scene, he has solicited some of the best talent from around the world. He was the first promoter to introduce Legendary Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed and Carl Cox to San Diego. His experience, commitment, passion, and continued involvement in the arena of electronic music, has contributed to the evolution of his impressive DJ skills. His performance has launched him to Lima Peru and Bourdorx France where he was meet with huge success. He tours southern California and Las Vegas weekely. CHRIS BOHN (Parlay Records) What can be said about the man who is consistently described as a mix of DJ Dan and Bad Boy Bill. One of our top choices CORE will let Chris loose to tear it up with our closing set. plus our resident: Jeremy Dawson of Slyder (Generation/Slinky Recordings) CORE goes off every Thursday at 6655 Santa Monica Blvd. (two blocks east of Highland) It is a 21+ event that goes from 9pm to 3am. Weird...I still can't get over the fact that people are booking my rookie ass (plus I'm used to my name being DLish on a flyer or hosted by...not droppin beats)...but I'm down and hopefully I'll be trainwreck free...I might have to fall off the wagon this night so I'm not all nervous...kettle one always calms me down...wait, what am I talking about, it makes me all hyper-spaz-ass grabbin-wannabecomedian-horndog....maybe I should stay sober. ...yea, they got their dance permit and it's on display on the front door...so it's all good.

I was supposed to go to Toy Box one night...I used to live down the street from Goldfingers and walk there a few nights a week. I might go to flawless tonight...Alicia's rad...tonight's guest is Jason Bentley, next week is Terence Toy (dick) and the next is Thomas White from Natural Rhythm...I'll definitely go that night, he's amazing...I've been trying to get Natural Rhythm to play up here for a while...Thomas played at my first gig on Wednesday's at Lingerie 3 years ago. He's sick.

  16. Lisa...so you did go to see Francoise K? How was it? Packed? Was it in the same downtown loft Wax usually has their parties? He played all night right? A little Body and Soul here in LA, damn I wish I could have made it out...I never made it off the couch Saturday night.
  17. Sorry to hear that hun...and sorry I haven't been able to reply to your last email. I got that damn Nimda virus on my computer and it's been hell...I just recently had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall my operating system and software...but my updated software for my dsl service is on a zip disk and I have to get on the internet to download the drivers for my zip drive, so I'm in a catch 22 right now...can't get on the internet, but need to to download what I need to get on the internet...sucks. By the way, David Alvarado is playing at Space this Friday...you'd dig this joint and his style...plus I play downtempo in the smoking lounge...you should definitely come out and release some of this work, or should I say, lack of work tension. I'll keep my eyes open for job openings.
  18. Hey...this goes out to the oldschool and newschool CP peeps...but as for a meetup...how about Friday at Space??? I'm playing downtempo/loungey shit in the "Treehouse", or the upstairs lounge and there's some good funky, deep house in the club room downstairs...and it has a room for those of us buttheads. Also, I just signed a deal with Milan Records (to be distributed worldwide on BMG and Universal) to put out a compilation dj mix cd of downtempo electronic lounge, it will have flavors from all around the world and I'd like some feedback to tracks I play Friday...ie. which ones are too tight not to put on it and which ones should never be played again. Don't worry, it's not the lounge music that makes you  ...it's more of the type that makes you wanna Here's the info on the venue: Space 6507 Sunset Blvd. (just west of Wilcox) 10PM-5AM Email me at events@dlishproductions.com to be on the guestlist...I have an unlimited amount of comps for this. Peace.
  19. I'm in the lovely town of Hollyweird...love it. But, I do need my dose of NYC to keep it real every now and then...never lived, but love to visit. Could never leave my beloved west coast sun. Yo, madrusso...I have those same EV monitors...the 300's...they can rock a small room right...or just for monitors in a huge club setting. Noice. As for clubbing out here...it just depends what you're into...but they do close early, then it's time to venture off to the afterhour parties...which I think is better because you get a change of scenery and crowd...well, most of the same crowd hits things anyway...and I'm too old for those damn crackhouses anyway...I like the afterhour parties I have at my own crackhouse home. If you come out...hit me up and I'll point you in whatever direction you want to go...remember, when it's 10 degrees in NYC, it's 68 here. Peace.

The brand new 2001 Sick and Twisted® Festival of Animation® will premiere 18 BRAND NEW short animated films and two returning favorites. 21. You both have good points. Something has to be done about terrorism and these acts of terror that have been perpetrated against our country (there have been other acts besides the WTC bombing...that's just the first on our turf), however, innocent people should not be subjected to more pain and suffering. Sassa's correct, most Afghan's are against the Taliban, but they are poor, undeducated and unable to fight against them. How do you expect them to fight the Taliban...with sticks? That would be slaughter. They do have a small alliance that is actively fighting the Taliban and I'm sure they will aid the U.S. in overthrowing the Taliban (whom we helped put into power when we helped them break from Russia in the 80's...yet forgot about when that conflict was over and Russia was defeated...why didn't we help them build their economy, government then???) I don't agree with what Larry Mosqueda (Sassa's cut n past post) said about Iran. I lived there in 1978-79 and my family was one of the last to flee the country before the hostage crisis. So I know a lot about what was going on there at that time and how a great Orator, like Khomeini can use religion to get people to rise up against anything "non muslim". I've seen people killed, my neighbor's father was killed in a car bomb on his way to work. We were almost massacred in Isphahan when they found out American's were on the plane trying to flee the country. Since I was in the middle of it, I took it upon myself to learn more about the situation, how it came to be, for my own piece of mind...because you can't believe the media. I could go into everything about the CIA's helping Mohammed Reza Pahlavi (the shah from 1941-79) retain his power...but we didn't place him there...his family already had control in 1912, when his father became shah of Iran. But, this gets off the point completely, and I could go on and on about Iran, or Persia and the Muslim religion...but this shows a correlation and how Bin Laden could get people to rally behind him in the name of Allah...I've seen it firsthand...and I don't blame them for following his lead, if this indead happens...if you were in their situation who would you trust??? It's tough to put yourself in their shoes unless you've lived among them...it's like Mexico but worse, the rich are Bill Gates x 100 and the poor live in caves in a mountain selling goat parts to survive...but, they don't deserve to die...they just need direction, medical attention, education and someone to help show them a better way of life...it can happen and I hope it does. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for going in and killing Bin Laden and everyone involved, but just not all these innocent people...which will happen and unfortunately must, as military strikes aren't always so precise. Just hopefully we can get everyone involved and not piss anyone else off that at one time was nuetral and innocent, yet now will take his place. It's a delicate situation, but one that must be dealt with.
