  1. frix-frax - no I'm afraid I don't know any of that crowd. usually at Buzz most weeks though so we've probably crossed paths there - actually I haven't been to Buzz for ages having just said that, last time was the foam party (after which we decided it was a really good idea to drive to Baltimore to go to Plush - the drive back was a nightmare...) In NYC tonight at vinyl and twilo so maybe see you at one of the meets? guess what - i'll be in black. like everyone else in new york.
  2. I saw on another thread that they don't let anyone in at Twilo after 7am - is this true?
  3. yes, we're doing it. aiming for Vinyl at 2, over to Twilo around 5 on the assumption that there will be no/small line to get in, more room inside, best music. see you there!
  4. that bastion of capitalism and global dominance, the World Bank......
  5. "Red Bull contains taurine, glucoronolactone, and caffeine as well as important vitamins and carbohydrates - for more information about the ingredients click here . This unique composition of ingredients has the following effects: increased physical endurance improved reaction speed and concentration " from the redbull website. http:\\www.redbull.com
  6. I'll be there with my friend John (from the UK) too. His first time in NY clubs...... oh and about 15 other people. see you all at the bar at 2
  7. Buzz is Sting at Nation. yes it's pretty young, but good... Platinum on Saturdays is OK but a bit townie; or you could try Glow at Zei - haven't been myself but heard OK things about it. If you just want to chill try Dragonfly (1215 connecticut ave nw) or 18th St Lounge opposite(both older, richer, trendy places) on (surprisingly enough) 18th Street nw. Red is another option in Dupont circle which is small but usually fun.
  8. get them all to come to Buzz (DC). plenty of room for everyone.....
  9. aaaaaaaaa - i have to try this....
  10. he's also playing Boston in August (19th?)
  11. Plush in Baltimore - opens at 6am closes ??
  12. cholo_40 the answer to what happened to your friend in #5 - he was being John Malkovich.....
  13. the same thing has just happened to a friend of mine this weekend in San Francisco - dropped Saturday night, very mild reaction, but come 5pm Sunday eyes all dilated and feeling a bit weird - and the same again on Monday... if it's any reassurance he's completely back to normal now - but a bit worrying, no? don't think they were purple triangles that he had though.
  14. Ibiza (pronounced e-beetha, not i-beeza or e-beeza) is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. It is off the eastern coast of Spain and is party party party central during the summer months - most of the big UK clubs move over there for one night a week so the place does get very full of european clubbers. Go! you certainly won't regret it......
  15. more to the point, how the hell can you afford it? especially as the law of diminishing returns is amply demonstrated...

  17. why not do both?? we're going to Vinyl and Twilo on Friday night (and we're all tourists in NYC so you can hate us). please all wear large signs around your necks so I can spot you from 3 miles away (or large arrows pointing to your heads in the case of Twilo. so many people I won't be able to see the signs....) aiming for Vinyl around 1am, Twilo around 5am. are these hottubs on the roof worth checking out Saturday afternoon (Lulu's??)
  18. I'll be there - wearing a fetching tweed suit, deerstalker hat and some sensible shoes. oh and I'll have my knitting with me. or maybe 'dirtyslapper' written in black marker on my forehead. see you there.... shamrock - why won't you be all in green?
  19. I'm 31 and I still large it at the weekends... it really just all gets better and better (although the hangovers take longer and longer to get over....) best is the look on 20 year old guys faces when they've just invested 20 minutes chatting you up then you tell them how old you are. or am I just a sad old cow who should be married with kids, just desperately trying to mis-spend my youth all over again???? stay at home with the knitting? I don't think so....
  20. yayyyyy!! excellent - cheers, mate. check your email.....
  21. don't know about local stations in NYC but you can get Pete Tong live every Friday afternoon (6pm UK time, 1pm here) on www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 for some kicking choons. Judge Jules, Danny Rampling, Gilles Peterson and Fabio & Grooverider spin on same station at various times. All you need is realplayer and some speakers.
  22. Boa_boy - got any recommendations for cool bars/lounges in Sydney to chill out in of an evening?
  23. Frixfrax - at 26 I'd hardly call you a geriatric.... there are plenty of us around with a few years on you yet, girl!
