  1. I wasn't impressed with pvd last nite, Im no edm afficionado, I can't trainspot or categorize styles but I really thought his set last nite was uninspired. There just wasn't any creativity to it, it was a little bit better towards the end when I think he started messing around with the effects machine but overall it didnt move me. I caught one of his last sets at Twilo, that night was insane. He was a monster behind the decks, and it wasnt some up in the clouds trance stuff, it was hard, it was creative and it had soul. I think the story goes that someone on the twilo message board put up a post as a plea to pvd to play to NY the way he plays in Europe, saying that we deserve to hear him at his best. According to the story that thread made it all the way to pvd's publicist and then to the man himself. He walked into Twilo that night like a man on a mission, got behind the decks put his head down and didnt look up for 8 hours and blew the roof off that club. Last track he played was for an angel, then he kissed the record and threw it into the crowd. I guess he just had an off nite last nite, when you do this every weekend you can't put 100% into everything. onto the crowd.... wow. I used to go to these parties because I thought it was the coolest group of people you can find in nyc, diverse, friendly, intelligent. What the hell happened? Seems like the entire club was cracked out asians and guidos. Plus NOONE CAN DANCE seriously like what the hell is up with that? I used to see some of the sickest dancers at these parties. Now these fob asians get drugged out of their mind at 10pm and hug each other while shaking side to side like their having a group seizure for 6 hours. Im really not tryin to stereotype, Im asian (indian), just seeing that kinda crap is really depressing cause this scene used to represent something. The overall positive vibe was what I came for, more than the music or the drugs.
  2. I'd rather just get it from someone in person than ebay, its too late for shipping.
  3. I need one of these for my costume, I got one from new york costumes but its hugee, it looks like one of those hats the hassidic jews wear. If anyone has one I'll buy it or rent it....
  4. If they've been to new york city they've heard of Sound Factory if they've heard of Sound Factory they've heard of JP.

  12. I was by the pool, room 112. My room kinda reminded me of witness protection.
  13. hey if you got any pics of warehouse that night I'd love to see them. I was there too just didnt take many pics, that night was probably my best night of wmc.
  14. Nah i didnt close, I made it till 9, at that point I was exhaughsted from dancing since 11 also the crowd was startin to weird me out, i think the real crackheads started showing up around then. I will never hate on JP again, the guy is a demon behind the decks, no other way to describe it. The music had so much fuckin attitude. Is he from ny originally?
  15. isnt the 20's and 30's still considered modern art? I dont know much at all about art, guess thats why I can't appreciate the art deco thing. But to me honestly, I don't think the people who designed the majority of these hotels on Collins really care too much about art either. I think they're just trying to capitalize on tourists who've heard about art deco. There is absolutely no reason to be charging 200+ dollars a night and still have stains on the carpets. NYC is probably the most expensive city in the US and I could get a hotel 10x better than most of those art deco ones on collins for about the same price on a days notice, even on a peak season. They're just ripping off tourists, simple as that. Im not talkin about the days inn, i know thats not deco, but even for a days inn i mean it should be clean. I went to other people's hotels on collins and washington, they werent horrible but it just seemed like it wasnt put together well. Definitely not worth the money they charge, yea you're on the beach but cmon at least wash the windows.
  16. yea post em, i got a few also, dont have the cable to connect to my computer yet though...i guess it was more like 8 when it was clearin out.
  17. yea i mean im as far from a JP head as you can be, I used to seriously bad-mouth this guy and the crowd that goes to his parties, even earlier that same day i was talkin about how i never liked him, the only reason i went to warehouse that nite is cus they were charging 100 bucks at crobar for pvd/sander Glad i went to JP cus that night at warehouse he definitely converted me. The club was whatever, i agree with you on that. I was sweating my ass off just standing by the bar. But once i got into the middle of the dance floor it was ALOT cooler. You stayed till 7am? I might of seen you, there werent too many people around then, i was wearing a green t shirt
  18. really?? I think that was the first night I actually liked JP, he didnt play a single vocal the whole set. Just hard banging tech-house, I finally understood why he has such a devout following. That set he played was straight evil, no other way to describe it. JP was like a demon behind that red deck, I stayed till 9am, I havent danced that hard in years. JP's style has a very ny attitude to it, I fuckin loved it. -----"i wanna hear some american shit!!!"-----
  19. What in the world was all this hype about the Art Deco district? They color the walls in two different pastels and suddenly its some modern art creation that we should be overjoyed to have the opportunity to live in. Nevermind the rusted aluminum windows, art deco stains on the carpet and cheap ass beds, the easter bunny walls make up for all of that. I stayed at the days inn so i got no reason to complain, but these other places on collins were such a waste of money. I did find one amazing hotel down on ocean, which shall remain a secret till i book my room for next years wmc.
