Hmmmmm, incapable of love? I think that all healthy ppl are born with the abilty to love, but are sometimes taught/conditioned not to. Coming from a psychological perspective, a lot has to do with what we learn to associate love with as children. In many instances, children learn that love means pain/betrayal/mistrust, and therefore develop barriers to prevent themselves from feeling these things (or on a lesser scale, wind up in dysfunctional relationships.) Hence, the mass amounts of criminals and sociopaths without remorse for their actions, and with that "cold" look in their eyes. It's not that they can't love, but all of their feelings have become blunted due to the lack of love in their own lives. I had a fantastic time at Howells. True, he opened a bit soft, but btwn 3-6 he was on fire- danced my booty off the whole time! Really don't know what all the ragging is about at all! (see other howells thread) When Yunior came on, I was pleasantly surprised by the way I was groovin to him, but alas, in a short while he was layin down *stuff* (wouldn't call it music OR beats) that just gave me a headache (apparently the crowd was too "straight"- and he does this to make "us" leave- it worked)...hadda jet by 9. There's a place on 29th st btwn Madison and 5th called "The Carltun." Very clean, very comfy beds, really nice place... for a standard room w/ a queen bed, total price with tax and all is just under $195 a night... which is def a bargain for a room/place this nice in NY. My little Sprinkles passed away the Saturday b/f Easter last year. This largely depends on circumstances. For instance, how long have you known her? Have you been friends, or did you just meet her? How did you meet? If this is basically a complete stranger, then keep it simple and basic cuz you can't even be sure you really like her. A casual dinner, or even just chillin at a lounge for drinks so u guys can get to know one another. However, if you like-like her, or know you def wanna date her, then a little extra umpf is called for. "Umpf" doesn't mean an expensive dinner or more money or anything, it just means- if you dig her, then put some thought into showing her. I'm glad you posted this, Ooana. I was just having this conversation with someone today about the board. There are ways to disagree with ppl, or make points without being mean or rude. Perhaps I'm idealistic, but I really really like to believe that most of the ppl who go to the less commercialized clubs are genuinely cool - genuinely into PLUR. I don't know... it just really sucks that there are so many ppl that don't care about ppl's feelings.
