sorry i'm late ! as promised, some earthquake safety, seeing as most of the people on this forum are not from cali (ummm... well, if you visit, then you'll have a better idea of what to do.) . things everyone should always have on hand: - flashlights with operational batteries (see yesterday's column ) - extra gallons of drinking water - a portable radio safety tips: - when an earthquake hits, stand away from any glass. - get under a table or stand in a doorway. - do not leave a buiding until the shaking stops. - know how to turn off the gas, electricity, and water in your own home. - if you're outside, move away from any buildings, tall trees, or electrical lines till the shaking stops. - if you're in a car, move away from bridges or elevated highways till the shaking stops; these can collapse. - don't use any candles or open flames inside; earthquakes sometimes break gas lines, which can catch fire easily. please add on to this list !

i thought that was funny, too . seriously, though? my lightbulbs went out when i was a kid really often, and my mean parents (both sides) made me climb up to our really tall ceilings on shaky ladders when i was scared of heights . i'm not so scared of heights anymore, but sketchy ladders and i are still not friends .

where do you find one for every occaision like that?

12/16. i got 75% of the jailbait right and 75% of the legals right. i blame it all on the poor picture quality .

if a woman insists on wearing heels or strappy sandals, it's true, it'll be hard to find comfortable ones. but i always wear sneakers when i go out dancing, walking, or anything that requires that i spend a lot of time on my feet. if i have a choice, i go for less pain .

sheesh - the column's been getting more practical and less philosophical every day . well, this one's good anyway: it's good to have extra light bulbs and batteries on hand; being left in the dark or without power on things sucks ass (and not in the way some people on the sex board enjoy ). and, if you live in earthquake country, as i do, you should always have operational batteries for your flashlights. [i could do a whole topic about earthquake safety; maybe i just might, tomorrow ...] tune in tomorrow.

sigh . spundae closes at 4, and there are loads of afterhours places that go into the afternoon. when i saw pvd, i didn't really feel like staying to the end of the event, which was 11 a.m. in general, things tend to close early, which sucks, but that's just the bars, lounges, and smaller clubs - and i don't go there. everything i ever go to closes at 4 or later. i'm just fine with deep dish's 6 hour set for $15.

i'd really rather not; that debate comes up on this forum every couple of months and just gets nowhere and ugly, two things i don't much care for . i'll just leave it at: l.a. is a better fit, for me .

i don't get out that much and i'm far from being a trainspotter , but i'll ask around and see if i can give you any titles .
