My .02: Club 5 - hip hop on Fridays; M3 house parties on Saturdays. This is a club that I used to frequent, but haven't been to in a while - since they changed the venue. Not really my crowd. Lots of college kids and wannabes - IMO. Chelsea's - dunno Alcatraz - dunno Badlands - gay and fun if you like sweaty men and drag queens! They have a karoake room that is very entertaining. Barnun - dunno 2:K:9 - dunno - but heard it was really young The Cage - Did the Cage move? Because it is no longer on 14th street. I haven't been to it since it moved - if it is still in existence. 18th Street Lounge - uppity, cramped, expensive - IMO. Red - small, but great house music and vibe.

Hmm, I really wasn't digging Scuba Sean the last time I saw him at Modern. Remember Gina?

No doubt. I'm lucky this is the first time I've had to deal with something like this directed at me. I dated a Black guy for 4 years and he had to deal with that stuff all the time. He even got arrested once. Of course, they let him go as soon as they got back to the station because they had nothing to charge him with. I guess ignorance and prejudice know no color lines.

I'm in CVS standing in line and this Black lady cuts in front of me -so I tell her I think I'm next in line. She turns around and says "I'm always having trouble with you people." So I say "My people? You mean short people?" She was not amused! She started going off on me and commiserating with the black cashier about "those people." Then she basically said I better watch out because she was going to kick my a$$! How sad is that? I can't believe there are people like that in this world! And she was a well dressed professional woman! It's easy to see how stereotypes are built.

You can expect to wait more than 2 weeks to get your washing machine fixed. You can have your window screens taped up instead of replaced, because they are so old they let the mosquitoes in - but your slumlord is too cheap to replace them. You can have your roof leak in the same place at least 3 times a year. You can have your back parking aread turn into a lake because your slumlord is too cheap to fill it in. You can be told that you have no right to complain. Grrr! Can you tell I'm pissed?
