  1. ahhhh..this is pretty funny. i think its safe to say that electronic music events in NYC are generally under-attended by people of color (as compared to other types of music events in this city) having said that, listen to Lav - she's 100% right and NYC isn't a microcosim of the world of techno...who's been out in Detroit or attended their giant techno festival for example? or better yet been to Europe where music appreciation seems to have fewer gender / race boundaries than here.
  2. hello? (wipes years of decay from eyes) Jeff Mills you say? (checks calendar) Oh yeah, it says: I'LL MUTHAFUKIN BE THERE!!! :aright: :aright:
  3. live video of me could be a little scary
  4. so i guess that means i won't be able to get away with stealing drinks from you anymore
  5. great seeing most of you NYE...tasty you looked fantastic! always greating seeing you out. S&P didn't disappoint at all - i wouldn't say I'd want a copy of their set, but they spun exactly what the night called for and certainly kept people hopping about! Had a great time
  6. Laine - was a great night! Club had a great atmosphere. 99% of the "newbies" in their evening gowns were very chill people and really got into it. Was beautiful when i happened to be sitting on the speakers for a breather at around 5am(?) and Dark Beat came on to vibrate my insides glad everyone had such a great time... mikey -
  7. good seeing y'all! I loved the first 45 minutes of victor's closing set. Marco's set i liked but i really didn't think its was as great as you all seemed to. Was thinking that with the crowd so small and him not getting much feedback he was sorta searching for his style a lot of the time. Great tracks but i didn't think it all held together that well. Would love to see him with a full house. Certainly had me up and dancing though
  8. i got a whole lot of snow to shovel...woohoo!!!!
  9. holidays are the hobgoblins of little minds. why not celebrate life when you want instead of when you are told to?
  10. i like the lunar calendar which makes me a shade over 45
  11. who's iller - the guy or the victim. I'd have to say the victim. "Hmm...you know i think i'd taste better fried. And since this is my last supper...."
  12. Is it possible that the appocalypse is upon us? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=582&e=3&cid=582&u=/nm/20021212/wr_nm/odd_germany_cannibal_dc
  13. dag...that sucks met them all in 1993 - 1994 when they played some place in Danbury, CT (year, drove all the way from the city for it). While their style wasn't for everyone, you gotta love the creativity and unique sound. LIke the french version of Bonnie and Clyde... What's up maudy?
  14. oh SNAP! i'm laughing at those folks who were arguing that this wouldn't happen. but how does this make the state of clubs worse? seems to me: - no more cig burns on your cloths from people stumbling around - reduced nasty cloths smell - less eye's burning - etc. i mean, i can see how for people who smoke it'll reduce their enjoyment, but for those who don't (which is a majority these days) it makes it better (or so say the majority of NYC residents)
  15. its really kinda sad that after a couple of years this guy still can't move on and keeps crying over her...good grief. and such a pussy to do it all on the boards as well. pete - u'r thinking about a spot on your show?
  16. actually - T and I were doing a little research and hula hooping is like all the rage now. You can get a pro set and its like weighted and stuff and people claim to be loosing 1 - 2 inches around the waist each month. Plus you can watch TV and stuff while doing it AND its good for flexibility (so it could help out with that self gratification thing too :aright)
  17. hehe man, this shit is from the early 70's i remember thinking that the flowers were really laughing and shit.
  18. remember, "There are no locks on story box"
  19. Dag...they really did it. For anyone who remembers or is stoned right now, come watch Paula play with her monkey and listen to the flowers talk
  20. sucks is when u go to boston or CA and you're thinking you can chill till midnight or 2am at your place with a few drinks and everyone's putting on their jackets at 9:15 like "yo, we gotta hit the clubs" lol seriously 4am is a great time to close if you are going out drinking cause after 4 - 8 or even 10 hours the livers gotta sleep. as for clubs nothing beats walking out into the daylight on a cool crisp day and checking out all the people just getting up, or walking up to the park to cheer the end of the marathon we are spoiled but i just feel like beatz are for late night
