  1. good idea but unfortunately my cheap plastic caps get stolen the night after I replace them, here in BK
  2. Thought he was pretty good but not great. A bit repetitive for me...he seemed to go back and forth from trance to deep tech house without a real clear direction. Kept bringing the crowd up and letting them down right away so I didn't feel like there was ever the chance for a crazy vibe to build up. Maybe it got better after I left at 5:30. Anyone? Bill Patrick kicked ass though
  3. thanks kid hey the rule is: if it's not on KTU yet it's still pretty good... damn you...now *I* have it stuck in my head...
  4. Before I co-hijack this thread...YES that 311 ad is the most annoying one yet, almost as bad as X11 cam popup windows. I try to make it a point never to even consider using the product of a company who annoys me with ads like that. I know sites like CP gotta pay the bills, but internet advertising just doesn't work. I'd rather pay a fee to use CP if it was ad-free. That said, NEXTEL users who use their phone like walkie talkies should be damaged in some way. Is there no way to use the walkie talkie mode silently like a regular phone? Definitely an "i-think-i-have-status symbol" thing...like loud car systems
  5. hell yeah! hope he's as good as he was in january...ummm I *think* he was good...can't quite remember...
  6. nah man...I was just visiting all the people I smoked on the racetrack  . . . .

  9. ahhhh...welcome to the wonderful world of the "funemployed"
  10. You seem to have a habit of omitting key words from people's posts. I said unnecessarily harmful. If you're a roofer you might just fall off a roof cause you NEED to be high off the ground. Same goes with firemen, police, etc etc. It's not about rights, it's about respect for your peers.
  11. No, it will never be made illegal, but the taxes on them will continue to rise so long as people keep buying them. Note I didn't say "keep WANTING them" because as we all know tobacco companies add enough chemicals to make sure more smoke gets into your lungs and more nicotine gets into your brain and hence the addiction. Most smokers you talk to don't want to smoke at all. The govt cares more now than they used to because there's so much public backlash. They will continue to ban it in public places, and the percentage of smokers in the population will continue to fall.
  12. no THAT'S bullshit...why should have to choose between either staying at a job that is unecessarily harmful to their health and leaving to go work somewhere else? Should they not have banned it on airplanes too? How was that any different from a bar? And regarding what you have to gain by not smoking in a bar...hmmm...maybe better smelling clothes, a whiter smile, cleaner lungs, and an extra $15 in your pocket? Oh and maybe the piece of mind of not having to have your children watch you die while hooked up to a machine at age 67. Hate having to bring up the obvious. And please don't go on about how it is your choice to light up or not, because you did ask me what was to gain...i'm just givin my $.02
  13. c'mon man...do I REALLY have to answer that question?
  14. Saw it last night and I thought it was really good. Maybe a little preachy and maybe a little hokey but overall a good $10 spent. Sounds like more of you are anxious to see "XXX"
  15. How many small bars and lounges in this city have the room to do that? I'm fine with the idea, but I just don't see it happening. This law is more about employees' rights rather than those of bar patrons. But if you think about it, everyone gains from this. And yeah, it kinda does mean you have to go outside in the middle of the winter.
  16. I guess you know that smoking kills more people than AIDS, murder, suicide, fires, alcohol, and illegal drugs COMBINED... But this debate isn't about getting people to quit smoking, as most non-smokers could care less unless it involves a loved one, and it's not about banning alcohol (the Prohibition failed). It's about courtesy and respect for those around you. If I enjoy hitting my thumb with a hammer I'm not going to make you do it too just because you're in the same room as me.
  17. First of all, there are *laws* prohibiting driving while intoxicated. You can drink all you want, so long as other people aren't harmed as a result of that drinking. So if smoking harms others, why no law? Secondly, aren't heart disease and cancer like the number one and two causes of death in this country? The numbers of DWI deaths are tiny comparitively. No need to close the bars...just a need for rational thought.
  18. While I agree that bathing should be a law, the subway rider's underarm funk isn't going to do me any bodily harm aside from me maybe having to cover my nose and saying UGH.
  19. I see your point Mikey but I think there's a difference between vices and vices that involuntarily involve others. A bump or a pill isn't going to bother the person next to you or jeopardize their health. Smoking may affect people with allergies, asthma, etc. It's kind of like, all of us here on CP like REALLY loud music (plenty loud enough to damage our hearing), but we can't bring our boomboxes into a bar or restaurant and sit it down next to us and pump it up.
