  1. Someone doesn't have Politics of Dancing yet It sounds like: 4 Strings - Into the Night Sounds like some looping has been added here's something else to check out: http://www.id-t.com/portal/page-radio.php?newsid=78 Or tune in to his next radio show, which on Thursday, 5-7 pm EST - maybe you'll hear it then!
  2. Live Appearance at the Opening of Matrixx Club in Nijmegen, Holland Available only this month! http://www.eurodancehits.com/video/videomonth.html
  3. That happened to me. I met up with friends of friends, and they were a cool bunch. However, after some time on the main floor, they decided to head upstairs, while I wanted to stay and see PVD start his set. Little did I know that I would not find them for the rest of the night. I went up and down all the floors at least 4 times looking for them. I tried calling, but in the 1 of 3 attempts where I actually connected, I couldn't hear what one of them was saying about their whereabouts. Also, I didn't know til the next day that they left at 4 am. I could've used all that time to concentrate on the music.
  4. I believe Cross is now called Type That's how it was when I was in London, and was expecting to go to Cross to see Seb Fontaine (a listing I saw on a site that I can't find any more), but saw no sign of the place. While I waited in the "queue", I asked the bouncer if the place was the old Cross, and he said that it was. I asked who was spinning, but he said he didn't know. I didn't want to wait, so I went next door to Bageley's. Has anyone been there? Not as big as Exit, but pretty good size, with different rooms and different kinds of music. Didn't seem like anything special though. I left early expecting to be able to go into Type, but right at that time, I was told that they stopped letting people in. Does anyone know of "The End"? I believe Sven Vath was playing there that night. I would've gone if I had known that Cross was no longer. I think there's also a Sunday night event in Brixton (I forget the name of the club) that goes til 6 am. Also, check listings for festivals here: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/ Maybe there will be one when you're there. I went to one of the Essential Festivals there. It was like a carnival with big tents (for dance floors) added. Using outdoor public urinals was a new thing experienced there. They were filled to the brim by the end of the day! Anyways, in one day, I grooved to: Richie Hawtin, Tall Paul, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Mauro Picotto, Fergie, Dave Angel, CJ Bolland, and others btw, what happened to Back2Basics? he could probably give some info about stuff happening over there.
  5. If anyone is planning to go to this year's Love Parade (or any events during the week leading up to it), reserve a hotel room ASAP! Last year I stayed at the ABC Hotel Apartment on Bernauer Strasse, and found it to be quite nice at a good price. I think you can find info on it, and other hotels at http://berlin.nethotels.com If there's enough interest, I can post my advice and observations about attending the Love Parade (and all that goes with it)

You'll find them especially useful in the subways, when people decide to blow their whistles there.
  7. Pick up a copy of Time Out London when you get there I don't know if you'll come across detailed info about clubs, but you'll see what's happening where on a certain date Check the schedules to find out when the last Tube trains are running. Plan accordingly because cab rides can get expensive.
  8. If we had been able to pull off some kind of meetup, I'm sure you would've seen many
  9. Didn't you see the video screens, which switched between showing visuals and showing live shots of the DJ (first Diaz, then PVD) ?
  10. Oh young PVD trainspotter, how you need to be trained He played many tracks that are on Politics of Dancing and were in his February set at the Rosenmontags Rave Too bad he didn't play (his remix of) "Never Fuck" He also threw in some classics like: Goldenscan - Sunrise PVD - Tell My Why He played "For an Angel" for the final encore There were many other tracks he played that I didn't recognize.
  11. On the balcony overlooking the main floor that is above the big bar (in other words, not the side that leads down to the stage) It looks like they took away the couches on those balconies. Does anyone know if that was done just for the PVD event, or has it been like that for a while?
  12. Here's what I thought of it... PVD was great, as was Luis Diaz It was great putting the DJ booth where it was, making it easier for the crowd to see the DJ. Is that the permanent setup that all the DJ's now use? From 1 am to 7:30 am, the crowd was not so great - it was hard to be on the main floor without getting pushed and shoved around I also thought that SF's ability to hold a crowd of such size wasn't so great. Are all of PVD's US gigs this packed? Also, for some reason, the doors didn't open until 10:20 pm, just after the weather started to turn windier and colder. I dunno whether that had to do the door people not being ready or pulling some kind of BS, or Luis Diaz not being ready. For the next time seeing PVD, maybe I should wait until I can do so in Berlin again... here were the advantages, at least at the Columbiahalle where I saw him: 1. Cheaper - 35 DM = about $18 US 2. Shorter wait in line 3. PVD spins two sets - he opens, then a guest comes on, then he closes... for a total of 9 hours of PVD 4. Good size crowd, but didn't feel jam packed (well as for the Love Parade itself, that's a different story). I could move around easily if I needed to. Maybe he's not as big over there as he is in the US, or people were saving themselves for the Love Parade the next day or perhaps were at one of the other zillion parties going on in the Berlin that night. 5. The booth is somewhat accessible - I was able to get his autograph there 6. Food was served - well I had to pay for it, but still it was available for when I needed it 7. There was an outdoor area to cool off if needed (however, it was nice that the main floor at SF had some breezy spots)
  13. Maybe this belongs to the Music board For a review and sound samplers http://www.eurodancehits.com/revcomp.html YOu can find more samples here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000060PBD/qid=1017416251/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-3758182-8196158 Typical Corsten sound IMO, but it sounds sweet! Has anyone gotten the CD and can comment on the mixing?
  14. according to http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/USNY0996?dayNumber=0&hour=16 it would be a good idea to get in before 1 am and expect rain when you come out! bring that umbrella! then again, if you went to destination nyc, this will probably not be so bad compared to that
  15. There's a link on tranceaddict.com http://www.tranceaddict.com/livesets.shtml I think you'll need audiogalaxy for it. I believe the file is called: 1real.mp3 by the way, when are y'all getting to SF? And what will you do to pass the time while in line?
  16. Damn that was a good time... at least for me... not bad for free! (thanks Rob!) It felt great to hear such good house beats after coming from two parties where hip-hop was played most of the time, and where I saw two fights break out. With all due respect to hip-hop (and the people who like it), it's just not my style, and the stuff played was so 5 years ago. Anyways, I think Who Da Funk started it off, followed by some great funky beats by Lottie, followed by the birthday boy himself, Morillo. Did Layo & Bushwacka play? If so, how were they? I wanted to check them out, but I had to leave early because: 1. I need to work on Friday, 2. I need to rest up for PVD. If I go, it'll be my 4th time seeing him, and I've got stuff to do throughout the day on Saturday, including trips to and from both west and east of Manhattan. Damn, I'm crazy.
  17. I've heard there's no dress code It would be very strange for a Made Event to have one Especially for the kind of price tag that comes with PVD hauling his ass over here, it would be wise to maximize attendance Maybe the "beautiful people" type of places don't need the numbers in turnout, but I think this is different. Anyways, where did you hear that?
  18. his schedule on http://www.arminvanbuuren.com/gigs_main.html says May 3 He's booked for UK gigs in the last weekend of April
  19. There needs to be a millionaire woman, who isn't already taken, to step up and do it. Any takers here? I'm sure lots of guys would be going for her (and/or her money). Who here wouldn't?
  20. Did anyone watch it last night? Apparently a handful of females I know are strongly believing that the guy is gay. What do you think? And who do you think is going to get the rock at the end?
  21. So you wouldn't spin there if you could? Regardless of feelings about Roxy, I'm sure many of the up-and-coming or unknown DJ's on this board would kill for such an opportunity. Especially at any big NYC club, such as Roxy. Am I wrong?
  22. For anyone who wants to get a very small taste of what's going on there (presumably at ULTRA) One more hour to go, Donald Glaude spinning http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 (if you missed the show, search audiogalaxy or djmixes2k or wherever for an mp3 of it) Sasha & Digweed at WMC will be featured next week
  23. If anyone happens to get this in time... Do you know if there is one for Phenomenon? I just wanna be sure. Thanks!
