Thanks guys!!!! and thanks for all your continued support!!!! Santa has been good to us this year.... (and Jesus has been even better!! ) We just found out today that we will hold the #1 position for 3 weeks.....this will make us the only artist this year to have done that... and "Some Lovin'" is a teaser single from our upcoming MURK album on Tommy Boy... (You should have seen the people singing "Dark Beat" word for word at the Renaissance party we did in London last week.....we turned down the volume and everyone just kept singing along....GOOSEBUMPS!!!! ) Thanks again, there is nothing like hometown support!!! see ya' at SPACE... O.G. p.s: keep the CHRIST in CHRISTmas!!!!!!

    Nye Wtf

That is a pretty impressive resume....can you please let me in on what is going on in the music industry, because Ive been trying to figure it out for years and I have no clue... as you can tell from above my sense of humor is in tact.... and I don't feel like my post was about defending myself... I agree with you....but I think this goes for most cities on the planet...we have a "grass is greener on the other side" complex I disagree with you here...."uneducated" people don't know any better so they can't really hurt the scene....it is those in the know that hold it back....If the haters were "in it to win it" instead of sitting around all day bitching and moaning...we would be alot better off.....It is people like you and I (who are into this scene and into the music) who are responsible for the direction we take.....if we can't get it together, how can we expect those "uneducated" people to join in...

I guess he is lying to me then..... thanks for clearing that up Brian
  9. I know that!!!! (I'd recognize that looser's face anywhere) that was just sarcasm:D ponte las pilas GA!
  10.   that shit is funny!!!! but who's the black dude?
  11. actually GA if you are going to include MAW on that list (which I dont think you should) then you have to include Junior.....just because of the timeline......he was the resident at the legendary Sound Factory (the original one) by the time MAW got together... but house music began way before both of them.... Marshall Jefferson, Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, David Mancuso...those are some of the true pioneers of house music!!!

GET YOUR HATE ON!!!! This thread is precisely what is wrong with Miami....Someday maybe "local" DJs will get the repect and support they deserve (and get elsewhere)...The day we start doing that is the day that our scene will begin to grow....until then it will be just a bunch of followers and wanna-be djs hating on the current scene....I have lived here my whole life and have been Djing for more than half of that time and have always taken great pride in being from Miami....My partner Ralph and I have always made it a point to try to put Miami on the dance music map and establish this as a scene to be reckoned with..BUT.....many times all you feel is discouraged and frustrated when you read some of the local know-it-alls posts.... Don't get me wrong....I still beleive 100% in this town and it's potential...and am nothing but appreciative and flattered by the support we have received for DARK BEAT by the local DJS and clubbers and radio.....and I still love to play at Space in my hometown better than anywhere else in the world.... The funny thing is DT plays DARK BEAT every week.... It was Pete Tong's essential tune today... Steve Lawler told me it was his favorite track of the year... Junior Vasquez and JP play it for half an hour at a time... Danny Howells and Timo Maas wore out there copies in Ibiza... It is # 1 on Billboard... #1 on Radio Italia Network... one of the most requested songs on 93.1 & KTU in NY.... but yet it is the butt of kelebek's joke and sarcasm... I guess it is not for the elite....and those who really know music.. later
  13. Your story has become tiresome.... It must be lonely out there on that limb!
  14. I will be playing on Tuesday December 17th at Ibiza Dance Club in Ft. Lauderdale along with my partner Ralph Falcon and my good friend Edgar V. There will also be a live performance of "Dark Beat" (which will go to number one on Billboard next week:D ) This is a FREE event!!! It is a benefit sponsored by Party 93.1 FM....They will be collecting (unwrapped) Christmas gifts for underpriveleged children...it is a great way to help people out and have fun at the same time and it's free!!! click here for info as for Saturday December 21st... I will be playing at the Rennaisance night @ Pacha, London (its a litttle farther than the coliseum Lola but I'll put you on the list anyway ) see ya at Space!!! O.G.
  15. OH....OK....so now we are going to start breaking down posts descarga style huh? well two can play at that game mister!!! Well....that sounds very nice....but then don't throw me into the progressive, Tribal box....anyone who has heard me play at Space consistently for the past 2 years knows I play a huge variation of dance music with my foundation being house.....on any given night I will play anything from latin house, tribal, progressive, deep-house, classics, electro ,techno, breaks, trance, I'll even play some classic rock when we get into the wee hours along with some classic Salsoul style disco.... First of all Stryke sucks and Ongaku was a piece of crap:laugh: Second of all, you will hear all of the above mentioned styles on any given night at Space (and then some)...and as far as Techno...I think it is safe to say I play more techno than anybody else in this town (just ask Stryke!)....it's not my fault you are a lightweight and you can't hang past 6am.... DHM Behrouz Desyn Masiello Bill Hamel Danny Howells Tiesto Mauro Picotto Slacker Saeed & Palaash Danny Tenaglia Stryke Edgar V. Steve Lawler Taucher Anthony Pappa John Creamer I'd say there is some variety there.... Ok...you officially like progressive....congratulations.....la tuya!!! That's not fair.....you can't say nice things about me when we are in the middle of a debate...that is playing dirty and I won't stand for it.....one more outburst like that and you are disqualified!!!! I really don't think the crowd is used to progressive....if anything, that is the genre I play the least....I would say the majority of what I play is straight up house...with some tribal and latin elements.....then techno a little later on....Roland is more the progressive master as far as Space, and he is on the patio....which is perfect because it gives you a whole different option on the patio.... I think the Tiesto comparison is totally fair....I am taking a DJ that can clearly play in the main room at Space and comparing him to a dj that can clearly play at Lola and the fact is they cannot switch places.... as far as educating our patrons as to what good dance music is.....Well GA ...we like to think we have developed a loyal following because we DO play good dance music....And after all the name of the night is HOUSESSIONS....and I totally admit that I am 110% partial to house music....that is the theme of the night....and that is how we have built a night.....changing it up drastically on a regular basis would make for inconsistency and who wants that??? We have a music format on Saturdays and we book DJs who we think will compliment that music format and are among the best at what they do.....that is what a night is all about ....a certain musical envroment and vibe that is consistently there from week to week... SPACE HATER!!! SPACE HATER!!! ALERT!!! SPACE HATER!!! (and no we don't care what you think....lol) Yeah you and Stryke come see me tough guy....I got some caps fo' yo asses... BTW: this post took way too much time from my life to write....please don't reply so that I don't have waste more of my precious time!!! (actually I'm sick as a dog at home and had nothing better to do;) ) HA!
  16. GA....Coming from a person that goes religiously every week to a venue that plays strictly one genre of dance music (deep house) this argument doesn't seem valid....remember, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's no good..... and knocking Lawler because he hasn't changed his style in two years???? You do realize that most of your favorite deep-house dj's have been playing that style for 10 years!!! I think your frustration lies with the fact hat they aren't playing your genre of choice at Space...but the fact is that some genres just don't work in some clubs.....for example: I don't think Miguel Migs would work in the main room at Space, but at the same time I don't think Tiesto would work at Lola... YOU ARE A SPACE HATER!!!! OK.....Now let's get some drama going on this bitch!
  17. This thread is undeniable proof that we are now officialy SPOILED in this town.....LP comes on here to announce Steve Lawler as a quarterly resident at Space and nothing but.."ho-hum, bah-hum-bug, whatever" comments....lol I'm pretty excited!!! Am I the only one old enough to remember how just a few years ago our only choices were Acosta, Padilla or Razor & Guido(etc...) ......with the VERY occasional guest DJ once in a blue moon.... y'all betta' recognize'!!!! (now that's ghetto)
  18. First off....Edgar deserves PVD's praise and then some....I for one enjoy Edgar's sets more than I do PVD or Tiesto for that matter...Edgar is open to all types of dance music and it shows in his sets and production.... On the other hand.... I hope you guys are kidding when you say things like.... "TRANCE IS THE BACKBONE OF DANCE MUSIC" "TRANCE IS WHERE IT BEGAN" Edgar himself, along with Acosta, Padilla and all the other local Trance kings all began their careers playing house....we can argue wether techno or house is the backbone....but Trance is definitely not it....Trance is more like the tail-bone...lol...JK! Trance is a huge part of dance music....and is by far the biggest trend to come around in ages....it has produced superstar DJs with rockstar-like groupies....it is constantly on the radio (93.1) and it is played in all the main-stream clubs locally....It's following definitely tends to be younger but it is not limited to that... As far as Space.....I have never seen more people at Space than the night of Danny Tenaglia's WMC party......except maybe Deep Dish's WMC party...and before you give me the WMC excuse....PVD played at Space for WMC and didnt even come close in attendance...not to mention Housessions on Saturdays has been going strong for over 2 years now with nearly 3000 people every week.... And as far as Edgar coming back to Space.....that is happening real soon.....I just hope this time you guys put your money where your mouth is and come support him....Remember, Trancemissions (as Fridays were originally known) was the biggest night at Space for a long time......what happened?? where did everybody go?? I hope to see all of you in full effect this time supporting one of our very best....Edgar V. Don't let a good thing go to waste again....."you don't know what you've got till it's gone!" paz, O.G.
