  1. most of those rules weren't DT's ideas
  2. not to be a downer, but i've heard from numerous sources that guy-man is an atrocious DJ- i mean really bad. never seen him myself, though
  3. double rye and coke (Jack if they don't have rye)
  4. now that you mention it, i sorta remember something about him retiring, but i dunno. for awhile he was DJing exclusively for Basics.
  5. its "Jon Pleased Wimmin" he's a drag queen by the way, and i think he prefers to please men. he didn't used to play hardhouse, but i'm not too familiar with his current style
  6. if we are going to talk hard house, people need to listen to steve thomas (who rightly is on the list). he's about the only hard house Dj i can tolerate
  7. errr no, actually sasha is welsh and became popular DJing at the Hacienda in Manchester and Shelly's in Stoke in the early 90's. the florida thing happened as his UK popularity started to ebb.
  8. oddly there are a number of djs on there that do play hard house that you people have neglected i'll let you figure it out the list is dumb, by the way.
  9. norman jay does not play hard house for god's sake people, do you even try to know what you are talking about?
  10. i should point out, that isn't a bad thing. go anyway, they are good
  11. DT isn't playing, Rich Woods and Rob Sperte are instead
  12. i'm not sure what this thread is supposed to be about, but that is a wonderful movie.
  13. i thought that "impurities in the air" comment was bush. am i wrong?
  14. i can't make it, and i'm pissed about it, but more importantly, how the fuck do people not know who carl craig is??? get some taste
  15. shot in the dark here, but does anyone know any good merengue clubs in the city, or where to find some? any help appreciated.
  16. they are on a summer break. the robpromotions board says something about "Erick's new NYC residency in the fall", which i assume will mean crobar.
  17. it's worth noting that what we might see as a remergance of patriotism was interpreted by the rest of the world as militaristic nationalism. Remember the salt lake olympics? to much of the rest of the world, they were too reminiscent of hitler's munich olympics. america is a wonderful place, but i hardly think its in our best interest to keep flexing our national pride to the rest of the world; what we see as love of country, they see as threatening.
  18. a national holiday is a big step. most such things represent more than one single incident. Do we really want to be celebrating a 9/11 memorial in 70 years? I'm not sure, particularly with the sentiment such a holiday is bound to create (anti-middle east, anti-islam) on an annual basis. it's also important to remember that we don't even know where 9/11 is leading us. the fighting in afghanistan isn't over, bin laden remains uncought, we could be going into iraq (i don't see that as so related to 9/11, but bush seems to). wait and see on this one, i think.
  19. i've never been to exit and i'll put my musical taste up against anyone here, and i have to say, ADD is a bit dull. too much of it sounds like it was made in about '93 and it never really grabs you and pulls you in. i thought the "muzik" mag reviewer was right on when he said it was "inoffensive rather than essential". the James Holden track is great though, but it sounds like just that, a holden track, not sasha. i was hoping for more.
  20. the other night i dreampt the tigers were playing in the world series (thats not the weird part) and for some reason it was in haiti. then all of a sudden the ton ton macoutes(sp?-anyway, the haitian version of the SS under Duvalier) came onto the field and shot the pitcher and the 3rd baseman in the head.
  21. Ministry of Sound paid them 2 million dollars to sign with them. out of curiosity, isn't it "emerge from nothing" not "emerge from the pain"? personally i love the song, james holden ended his essential mix by mixing it into "california dreaming" which was original i thought.
  22. nice taste!!! Good to see a list that doesn't include ATB
  23. DT! (i'd rather be honest than original) if you are looking for a name that won't get brought up though, T-1000 is phenomenal. Claude Young too.
