  1. maybe i'm way behind on this, but did anyone else notice that www.phazonsound.com now lists Vinyl as "coming soon"? i'd heard rumors before, but this looks promising.
  2. wow, considering how big that track was, I'd think it would be easier to find. Especially with that Sander mix.
  3. why would you get that on acetate? Can't you get a vinyl copy?
  4. Nothing wrong with clubbing alone. I do it a lot (similar situation). Now going to Exit, well there might be something wrong with that.
  5. apparently Lucien Foort once spent a whole night talking to Hawtin (they were DJing at the same event), got his picture taken with him, et, etc, etc the next day his friends saw the picture and informed him that it was Jules, not Hawtin
  6. check naughtybooth.com there's a monster thread about it
  7. I must say, I'm fascinated by this NYC idea of "working" a track or a mix. Nowhere else in the world do people talk about that. It's strange, as though nicely putting together good tracks in the normal DJ way isn't enough and you have to have 10 things going at once and remix the track on the spot for it to be good. Dunno, its just very weird.
  8. ha, I'm done clubbing until august. Exams and then back to the boring midwest. No more DT for me for a while Y'all will just have to preserve the party for me.
  9. missed it, but you are hardly the first person i've heard raving about it. I'm pissed; i should have said "fuck finals, DT will educate me". Of course you can't write that on a Criminla Law exam.
  10. fucking hell, i wait all year for lawler and its in the middle of exams. fuck fuck fuck fuck! sorry for the rage, i'll keep it to myself from now on
  11. Renaissance lost their venue, Media, so they only put on monthly things in London now, though they will certainly be back.
  12. oh woops, you're talking about the horn, not the siren. Yeah, that is annoying, though rare from my experience.
  13. From what I know, the DJ doesn't control it, Ariel the light guy does. Often, they use it to turn up the volume under, so you don't notice that all of a sudden the system is louder mid-track. So it has a purpose, though they could cut down on it.
  14. no advance tickets, but there is absolutel no need. You probably wont even see a line, let alone have trouble getting in.
  15. i would identify the liberal ideal of progress as the dominant theme from then to now, the idea of constantly moving forward and progresssing towards newer better ideals and societal structures. Discuss technology, exploration,human/civil rights, broadening of the political process, emergence of modern democracy, death of slavery, rise of unions, industrialization, on and on and on.
  16. matt licata is opening, so he's probably gonna play from 3 to close
  17. oh, and "know your role" pretty much sums up exactly what most people hate about the club scene in New York. Anyway, as the consumers in a market economy, I'd say the paying customers have a fairly important role. After all, it's tough to have a club without patrons.
  18. this is downright weird; someone asked a question and now people are getting bitchy that it's being answered. what the fuck?
  19. great producers (i particularly liked purple and lemon). opened for Seb @ shelter last week.
  20. isn't he having an affair with one of the pet shop boys
  21. what is your fascination with Niki? Are you two in love or something?
