  1. Looks like Evidence, Property, advanced torts, and something fun like equal protection, EC Law or Labor law. Wow, you don't realize how boring law school is until you write out your schedule.
  2. I forget whether it was home or fabric in london that quizzed people at the door on who the DJ was that night. If they didn't know, they didn't get in. Always liked that policy. Even if you're just starting out or ignorant, at least be there for a reason.
  3. 1-Mama Tenaglia 2-Deep Dish 3-Nick Warren 4-Carl Cox (drop off) 5-Lee Burridge 6-Seb Fontaine 7-Sven Vath 8-Tom Stephan 9-Yousef 10-Laurent Garnier I know you're only taking 10 but leaving off people like Rolando, Mills, May, Seaman, S+D, MAW, Murk, Morillo, Lawler, Tedd Patterson, Sneak, Dave Clarke, Francois K, etc is tough. After the first 4 picks it gets real arbitrary for me. I could probably do my own top 100, but that would be obnoxious. Oh, does anyone else find it funny when people grossly misspell the names of their favorite DJs? Oh well.
  4. try the folks at dtourism.com, they eat, sleep, and breathe DT.
  5. to correct myself, GU 2 is the tape version of GU 1 (Tel Aviv); it was a stupid cataloguing error.
  6. the reason Oakenfold NY was #2 was because they started releasing them in the US much later and just ignored the ones before. Now they've released all of them in the US and gone back to the original number. There never was a #2, i believe because the first GU (Tony de Vit- tel Aviv) was numbered so disc one was GU 1 and disc 2 was GU 2, but if i remember there's a full explanantion in the FAQ's on the globalunderground website
  7. Before last night I hadn't been to Vinyl since DT's birthday so maybe its been like that a while, but what was going on with the decorations? I felt like I walked into a Star Wars episode with all that hanging white stuff. Weird.
  8. off the top of my head some easy to find titles would be: Techno- Sven Vath "sound of the 1st season", "sound of the second season", Carl Cox "Global", Tiga "mixed emotions"; Jungle i forget the titles but there have been good cd's lately by Jumpin jack Frost, J Majik, Dj Marky, and dieselboy. Trance- ( a bit out of my league but try) Gatecrasher "experience", Paul van Dyk "politics of dancing" and Godskitchen "journeys" (thats an import so its pricey, but its 3cds and very good.) Happy hunting.
  9. Fuck, I saw the bald dude with glasses and all i thought was "why does every techno fan think they are Richie Hawtin?". I am officially an idiot Oh well, still a great night. Vath had a little harem going on in the booth didn't he?
  10. While I realize this is essentially a 3 person thread, I just thought I'd return to the roll-call idea and say that I will be there. Of course I don't knwo you people, so why should you care? Anyway, hope everyone enjoys themselves, Vath should be great (sorry for the bad rhyme). Oh, and thehacker is right about "nominal". But honestly, who gives a shit?
  11. wasn't there, but i assume it was "walking on thin ice"
  12. deephousepage.com also has some good info, though it focuses a lot on Chicago. Great mixes library too.
  13. Mel Cheren wrote a book - don't know the title - about the Paradise Garage and all that jive that I'm sure would be of use.
  14. Thanks Dave, more people need to stick up for Detroit. Now if only the Tigers could win a game:rolleyes:
  15. try greektown, its a great little area. I recommend the New Hellas Cafe.
  16. Detroit's no picnic, but it isn't exactly beirut. I've spent my whole life up to this year in the detroit area and have yet to be killed for my shoes. One of Detroit's biggest problem's is that people don't give it a chance because of silly exaggerations like this. The people mover (the elevated train thing) is there because its conveniant and sorta novel, not because the streets are lined with crackheads. And the hotels are fine. So is DEMF. Lay off the suburban paranoia.
  17. Last year was good, but this looks better. No way I'm gonna miss Bone and Dave Clark. I just hope it doesn't rain again. Its nice to see big stuff in Detroit. The 2:00am closing laws fuck up the scene and no one puts any money into it so the clubs are shady. I do suggest going to Motor while you're there. Its a great, raw club.
  18. I believe Lottie is the definite consensus winner. No one has mentioned Smokin Jo, oddly. she's great.
  19. Boy did that post make me ashamed to go to Columbia.
  20. Vinyl for Tenaglia, but I'm new to the area. First real club in general was the Ministry of Sound for Allister Whitehead. Wish he'd play here sometime.
  21. 1390 SAT (caveman analysis: verbal good, math bad). More importantly 171 LSAT, which allowed me to go to Columbia Law, not inferior NYU!!!! j/k
  22. Errr, whoops, must try harder next time.
  23. In the unfortunate words of 2 Unlimited "TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO" So, no, its not another progressive DJ. Anybody know anyhting about this LeFosse dude that's opening?
