vinyl and baktun

2 weeks in a row (at 2 clubs) they havent worked for me. Do they work anywhere or is it just a joke?

No one has mentioned the naked DJing!!! who knew we'd see the full tenaglia? oh well. great night, particularly after about 6:00, better crowd, better tunes, just better. i loved when he stopped that track to start it over from the beginning becase it was "so fucking fierce" in his words. Danny definitely seemed a bit loopy (more so than usual that is) but it was his birthday so who gives a fuck? Anyway, awesome night, i wish i coulda closed it, but about 9:30 my legs went to shit and it was over.

its very, very small. thats the most important thing. its also pretty loud and tends to have good djs (i saw tony humphries there friday). Crowd can be a bit old, but thats NY, either its 15 year olds or 30 year olds. Fun place though, very intimate (i met Jon Creamer there w/o knowing it was him). Definitely worth a try.

I'm at Columbia Law - but i still make it to Vinyl a decent amount (and now and then somewhere else too) just finished my moot court brief, so its time to party like a debt-ridden grad student!

Ron Hardy used to play 72 hour parties at the music box in Chicago. And i think the Paradise Garage closing party went on for a few days with Levan in charge the whole time. So its all been done before. Then again, they're both dead, so...

Be Yourself is still the best party around. I never post, but things need to be said. The pushing is out of control and there are some other problems, but its still an amazing time everytime I go. Dec 21 was maybe the best night ive ever had at a club, Vinyl or otherwise. When DT dropped "Always", oh man... Think about it, what makes NYC so great: huge diversity of people, tons of energy, distinct vibe. Thats what makes Be Yourself great, its the last real melting pot around. sure there are some varieties of people you wish weren't there (juicers) but its the diversity that makes the party. At the very least you can just laugh at (insert group you dislike here) Thats why Fri is still better than the post-Twilo fest of Saturdays (though those can be great too). On Saturday, everyone looks the same. Its sorts bland and homogeneous. Friday kicks its ass. As for those who wish the crowds would go away, remember a few things 1-clubs are supposed to be inclusive, I've taken rookies to Vinyl because i like spreading the word, not keeping things private. Thats what gives the party life, otherwise it would be like some (unnamed ) parties with the same exact people every week for years until half the crowd is to old to dance. 2-soon enough the Howells, Pappa, etc Twilo DJs will move on somewhere with more cash, a liquor license etc. With them will go the crowds. 3- Tribal wont be in fashion forever, soon enough some other musical trend will be in and people wont be sucking off DT and those who are his loyal fans will be left with more room to dance. People love to bitch on messageboards, but the truth is we're all here b/c we love the scene and have great times at our chosen venues, be that Vinyl, Roxy, Exit, Filter, or whatever. Enjoy things and relax, the music is too good not to. Music is the Answer! p.s. who are you Vinyl regulars? we should meet up (don't worry, I'm not overly muscular)

she was good, but one suspicion i had about her was confirmed, shes scared of mixing. She always mixes in the breakdown so theres's no beatmatching to do. Otherwise, she puts onm an effect to distract you from the mixing. Good choice of tunes though, she sounds like S+D circa Expeditions. One other note, why must beers be $6 at clubs?
