sorry for the double post... i inadvertently pushed something... the girls gone wild party was so lame...the girls were gross. too bad it was the same night as G&D.....I don't know why avalon brings those dancer girls either. G&D spun all my fav trance anthems....thankfully they also spun 'no one on earth'. everyone was jumping up and down when they spun 'as the rush comes' every once in a while they added a track and we were like 'wtf is this??' way too many asians there...i thought that was odd, but I assume most ppl saw G&D last time they came. Thank you G&D for a great night!!!! wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I arrived late (I went to gabriel & dresden first) but thought the music was ok...I didn't like the crowd..a whole bunch of ppl that looked like strippers and truck drivers...just gross old men. I assume the crowd was cooler early on, but I thought the music was ok....for some odd reason I prefer his trancy material over his housey stuff, even though he's not known as a trance dj. I thought it would be more crowded, given that all u hear about nowadays is sander kleinenberg.

can anyone explain why they are allowing more and more professionals in a tournament whose basis was for amateurs? I think it is so unfair.. i thought the olympics committee would ban professionals since it goes against it's very foundation. what really bothers me are athletes who win gold as amateurs...then the million $$ endorsements come thru and they are corrupted.. the object then becomes winning gold for endorsements rather than representing their nation. i'm not trying to say anything against athletes who win, and i think it's fantastic for usa to win and represent, but seriously... what are professionals doing in the tournament?

u'r such a clown...if the shoe was on the other foot, u wouldn't say that. like it or not, the olympics was created for amateurs. although it's great for usa to win, it's not fair for professionals w/ top of the line facilities to play amateurs who don't have that advantage, and then the pro's win. ......so call it spam or whatever u want and u don't have 2 like what I say and I could care the fuck less but the whole point of the olympics was for the sport and representing u'r nation, not $$. it was created for AMATEURS. i'm not sure what happened along the way for it to change to professionals, but for me, the excitement of the olympics was the fact that they were amateurs

that's really sad they won only ONE zero to a team that spent 30 yrs under saddam and torture under his son, had sanctions, and 3 wars. I don't know if it was out of sympathy or not but boy did italy suck. they sucked so damn bad...the ball was mostly in the posession of iraq who took like 19 shots, italy faked stuff all over the place like some clown said his shoulders hurt and was on the floor and the ball NEVER touched his shoulders!!! that sound desperate and when teams suck they resort to faking stuff. their defense was ok, their offense was pitiful. they lost 3-0 to argentina... they couldn't even score a consolation goal like iraq did vs paraguay 3-1. what a joke. europe in general just can't play now. argentina will win the gold i am sure but they suck too. long gone are the glory days of maradona and argentina as a whole. this whole olympics is bizarre

oh please...they're PROFESSIONALS!!!!!!!!!!!!! what the hell are they doing at the olympics in the first place!! HELLO..it's supposed to be for AMATEURS!!!!!!!! professionals have millions of $$ on top of them are endorsements and they compete with amateurs most of whom can barely pay for the trip and don't have all the training facilities the rich ppl have, and for some unfair reason, they are judged on the same scale. the same applies to the usa basketball "dream team" who puerto rico beat the hell out of them... & professional tennis players/ gymnists, then they complain about the scoring.. look u can't have u'r cake and eat it too. football is even worse.. argentina, italy, portugal, morroco, etc are all professionals. Coming to think of it, the ony nonprofessional football players were the mali and iraq team, and they played the best out of everyone. women's football, along with MLS joke of football, are both boring to watch IMO but to each his own. I'm waiting for the next world cup.

I meant that the guido factor was very high, reminiscent of exit. not that I mind cuz they were pretty hot. some looked weird (especially the guido circle in the back w/ their hair spiked so high). what an excellent night...I hope he comes back. he is so worth it. I was on cloud 9 walking out of there...Jan j was ok imo , not that great. I thought she was baby spice when I first saw her. I'm almost positive marco v is dutch, however regardless of his nationality, HE'S AWESOME!!! MAR-CO MAR-CO !!!!!!

i haven't heard all of the dj's in the world and although I like him, he's still not even remotely excellent. i think he's so played out as well. i don't understand the big obsession with him, there waaaaaaay better dj's IMO. It's only nyc ppl that love him, worldwide, I wonder if anyone cares or knows who he is.

i thought it was tony draper every fri? jp every sat or was tony draper a one time event? I hope what u'r saying is true since I only know of the sullivan room which is true to that statement...it just seems that all the lounges I visited lately cater to that crowd, I read the descriptions which say x place is a chill out lounge, then I go and see the fake dior, prada, etc crowd waiting in line which is enough to make some ppl turn around and walk back to their cars...at least they make the fake dior ppl wait in the lines too!!

Remember when SF & Exit each had (or what seemed) like 300 promoters that made a ton of money, and the guestlists were so HUGE they used to have multiple tables each with 1 inch binders with a million lists full of names? They did a really good job of promoting, however suddenly they disappeared. Say what u want about sf, roxy, & exit but at least they were packed and fun (IMO) now places are empty and if the venue isn't significantly smaller (avalon or spirit) or some lame plastic surgery lounge it won't make $$. Before, u could go out and chill.. wear whatever u want and just have fun, it was about the dj and vibe. Now it's all fake gucci, fake louis vuitton, fake dior, a/x ..... it's all about attire now, it sux. do ppl go for clothes or music / vibe anyway? Where are those promoters?

What a great night. He tore it up...typical Exit crowd of course, but not a bad thing for us Exit-heads...No old people either!!!!!! Not as packed as usual either.

with JP spinning, what do u expect? the only reason it's successful is cuz it's so small, the same for avalon. Few ppl go to megaclubs anymore, it's all those stupid fake lounges where a lot of ppl try to flaunt the money they don't have. but yes, it is like a typical nyc big room, but that's what I like about it (the old Exit vibe) and it isn't (at least not yet) an overwhelmingly Chinese population. There's a mix of everyone. The vip room needs to go.. it's so lame and takes up too much space. We had enough of JP at sf, we need new artists...there are a ton of good dj's out there who could spin better stuff.

I thought it sucked royally. The made us wait outside for half an hour, so I thought the party must be kicking in there...only go to in and find it had like 100 ppl. That's crazy! When we waited in line, the ppl coming out yelled "don't go in there!!!" They even had that same annoying gay dancer from Exit2, currently at crobar. 90% of the population was Chinese too. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but where are all the Italian hotties? What a waste of $25. Eddie Baez sucked too, too techno for me.. he made me yearn for Tony Draper (whom I never liked) if you can believe that. I had such good times at Exit...to see it in such a state is depressing. So many great dj's there, the crowd was unbelieveably hot.. If those walls could talk.....That place sux now. Now it's the pink room...not the white room. The white room was way better. When I went to the pink room, it was empty. When was it packed? Avoid Ikon at all costs...like someone said, it probably won't last long anyway.

once you have been to almost every club and almost every lounge..it all becomes the same, it gets boring after a few years. Same ppl, same life style, same alcoholics and druggies, guidos, bimbo wannabe pamela andersons, etc at the same clubs.... After a while, it takes a toll on u, and u begin to see signs of wear and tear on ppl's faces, it becomes a "been there, done that" thing Career is more important than clubbing. I ran into so many clowns who put partying b4 career and they're 35 now and have crummy jobs. You can always have fun in life, but a career is harder especially now w/ high unemployment and competition. I used to go out almost every week, now it's only for dj's I can't resist & occasional weekends. You should enjoy life while u'r young but not at the expense of a career. You can always go to a club, but great job opportunities are harder to come by.

such as? i haven't been to the lounges, just clubs, & i hear lounges are the places to be now, but which ones?

25- 30 year olds with a relatively decent crowd (fri and sat night)? i'm getting tired of clubs..they mainly have 18 year old kids. I want an older crowd but not the type that try to act rich or whatever. pleeeeease... any suggestions / advice !! thanx in advance ppl

I went this past fri- the 21st. i just wandered in and out of both rooms, the hip hop room was way better and of course more crowded. i got tired of crobar and left for spirit. i kept waiting thinking the ppl or music would improve but that place on fri is not my thing, but if others like it, that's cool- more power 2 them. spirit was much better IMO. since there are mentions of lounges / clubs anything...which are some good ones? marquee and what else? what street is it located? thanx a lot xxrachael1xx u speak the truth!! spirit is 1 street parallel to crobar - on west 27th or 28th st exact same chelsea area. italianp7 what u said is so true about arc.

quo is in the same area as crobar, and a bunch of other clubs - so I will forewarn u about the crowd because much are the same - same for dress code. and it's small too. the door guy treats ppl like cattle, the sad thing is that some don't mind that kind of treatment. enter at u'r own risk!!

the crowd was downright fugly, they looked like the pedophiles they show on tv from the church scandal. Where did those old clowns come from? they are invading this city! The guys were ugly as were the girls. I always thought nyc guys were drop dead hot until I went to crobar and avalon. I am never going there again. Which clown makes the door policy at those places? i <3 tiesto - but it's not worth seeing him with that kind of revolting crowd- if u'r a girl that is. I spent my whole time at picotto telling dirty old molesters to fuck off. bloomberg should shut crobar down instead of raiding exit all the time. What is all this I hear about guys and girls being turned down at the door? I heard that if a guy goes alone or a group of guys, he is not allowed to enter and that girls must wait in line long hours? i went in easily w/ no hassle. i hope they were kidding cuz crobar and avalon are so not worth it- both are hyped up pieces of junk. even guidos have more class than to go to either. in fact, I think that's why there were so very few at crobar or avalon. spirit - on the other hand- is so worth it. i was at spirit this fri and they tore it up and the crowd was not bad at all. worth my money no doubt.
