I love bay ridge, def the best place I've seen in bk. I used to assume it was a dumpy ass slum full of losers (the way it was portrayed in Saturday Night Fever). It's not like that at all (at least the places I went to). if u think bk has a bad rep..queens (except forest hills) has a worse one, even worse is the bronx. you bk ppl have it good. ppl associate the thick ny accent with queens, rarely bk, hence bk ppl are considered 'more intelligent'. I heard that from lots of ppl, too much stereotyping. good places, bad places, all nyc is awesome

Here is the problem: To get a subscription to sirious first of all u need to buy the channel transmitter thing ($100) then u need the satellite for your car ($50) then u need the satellite for your house if u are a hardcore stern fan ($50) then u need the boombox ($100) or equipment that is already equiped with the stuff - which most cars and stereos are mainly xm ready) Then u need the one year subscription ~$130 a year) Worst case scenario: that's already $430 (excluding taxes and insurance) How many Howard stern fans are willing to pay that much money to hear him every day? hardcore fans will, but I doubt enough to pay him $100 million a year but we will see..

IMO they both suck. skribble is as bad as louie de vito and his stupid dance factory cd's. jp has a handful of ok tunes..the last times i saw him at spirit were mediocre at best. it's all about dt hands down.

I hope they don't close that place. they had some good acts this year. Most of the dj's spin there or avalon, that would suck if spirit was closed. new mgmt fine, just keep it around b/c it's an alternative to sucky crobar.

it seems that whenever I go to avalon, spirit, Ikon etc, the crowd gets younger and younger since obviously older ppl settle down or tire of the scene. for example Gabriel & Dresden... so many little kiddies even though there's no age limit to trance. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but personally, I like to see an older crowd cuz they're more mature and knowledgeable about their music. i know 'age ain't nothing but a numba', but does anyone else here feel the same?

GGW was in the hip hop room. lame... ugly girls who shop at amsterdam boutique trying to pole dance & gross ass guys coming on to them. the only good thing about it was they played some old school michael jackson. that hip hop room needs to improve, the seats are so wet and dirty, like couples did stuff on them. on top of that they're velvet.
