  1. Need help here guys. As you can imagine, great music is a must whenever I travel. I have yet to visit Las Vegas but now have the opportunity party there from May 15th through May 18th. I have booked my reservations at "The Palms" hotel which I was told is more for the young crazy crowd like me. Progressive House / Trance / Breaks is a must and also in my blood so it would be awesome if anyone can refer me to the best clubs that play my genre. I also want pass by any on the underground vinyl shops that they have there but as of yet I have no names of any of them. I am sure that the vinyl shops in Vegas may also have flyers with line ups for the weekend that I will be there. Show me the light. Peace, Obby
  2. Anyone else have any info that may help me? Which is the best club in Vegas now?

  5. Now that is great news. Always nice to hear what Jody and the crew have in store for us. I love it when they play stuff that is not even released yet. Hope to hear some that night. Obby
  6. Pako And Frederik - Western Approaches 2002 Pako and Frederik have made a name for themselves with quality production after quality production, be it on labels like Bedrock and Coded or their own imprint Majestic Music. Over the years such tracks as Seaside Atmosphere (with Stef), Beatus Processor and indeed Western Approaches have etched the duo a reputation as a quality production outfit. Now here in 2002, the debut release from Majestic Music has been dusted off, and Western Approaches 2002 is the result. First up and also my favorite, Evolution steps up to the plate to bring the track kicking and screaming into the 21st century, gorgeous string melodies and a deep rolling bassline coupled with tight synth arrangements and a huge dose of that trademark Evolution sound turn the track into a devastating remix that quite possibly rivals Evolution's earlier remix of Stef, Pako and Frederik's seminal classic Seaside Atmosphere. This will rip up the dancefloor, no doubt keeping many carpenters busy and happy. Pako and Frederik revisit the original which was released on their Majestic Music imprint, re-editing it into the U-135 Depth Charge Edit, cinematic strings and atmospheric grooves powered by a funky driving bassline delivers one of the most emotional tracks you will hear this year, climaxing in a superb break which will get you moving your feet Further remixes will come from Frederik and Pako respectively to round off this package, which marks the 50th joint release of the Quad and Coded imprints. A welcome return to the scene of both labels. If this is not in your collection then it should be. Obby
  7. Wow this is big. I leave the board for a month or so and when I get back I find Noel Sanger as a new member. Miami just keeps getting better. Nice to have you Noel. Know that your work has had my ears for a long time. You just keep getting better. : ) Does Miami know what they have just landed? Peace, Obby

  9. I did not take your post as you busting on me so no worries and I think you already have my answer to your question in my last post "what can be done to change that?". Nothing against any promoters but I do know that they tend to tell club owners what they like to hear and not what they need to hear.
  10. I read an interesting article regarding your post. Thought you might enjoy the detailed info and the updated picture of this new object in our Solar System which has yet to be named. Here is the link http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/quaoar_discovery_021007.html Here is the pic
  11. I read this article in the New Times and tripped out. Remind you of anyone you know? The Preppie Pot Papers J. Crew models? Or young Cuban dope dealers? BY HUMBERTO GUIDA The kitchen counter is covered in green. Two pounds of neon-bright, high-grade reefer next to its equivalent in cash, stacks of twenties totaling $8000. But three young men and one young lady, all white-Hispanic college students, are growing a bit apprehensive. The bud counts twenty grams short. "Razzmatazz," the dealer, cocks a doubting sneer as he lets the buyer in the $80 Armani T-shirt know "when that was weighed out before you came, it was on point." But the Armani guy's electronic Tanita scale doesn't lie; the "judge" reads 276 grams, just a little off. Still, for this price, no one takes a slack bag. A tense discussion ensues about appropriate compensation. Fortunately the girl finds the derelict nugget on the floor before the boys get rowdy. It must have fallen ... "Sure," Razzmatazz quips. The deal is done, everyone's happy. Razz counts his money and instructs the buyers to be on their way: "Get the fuck out of my house," he snarls in jest, sort of. The bunch packs into a brand-new Ford Explorer parked outside the West Kendall home and speeds recklessly away, not giving the young kids playing on the quiet neighborhood street much time to move out of the way. With that over, Razzmatazz prepares to spark a Cheech and Chong blunt not much smaller than a Little League baseball bat. He made some money and has about an hour to relax, puff on herb by the pool before his mom shows up. He offers me a toke but I decline. "Pussy," he disses me. I wonder out loud if the time will come when Razz sets his sights on a career that's a little less illegal. He lets me know he intends to do something worthwhile with his life, not just deal. The 22-year-old Christopher Columbus High graduate from an upper-middle-class family takes music engineering classes at Miami-Dade Community College, helps around the house, and cooks for his two little sisters when his mother is away -- which is a lot (she works). He wants to be a sound engineer or concert promoter in the future. In the meantime, he sells pot. Full story here http://www.miaminewtimes.com/issues/current/feature.html/1/index.html

    Biz's Birthday

Sounds like you had a good time Biz. Wish I could have stayed longer but NO! Sounds like I missed allot. 1- Girls with their "tetas" in the air 2- Other wondering if they were hallucinating or not. 3- Biz almost getting to the point were he could have made a fool of himself. God...those are definitely Kodak moments. 4 - Did I mention the "tetas" already? Oh yeah I did. Wish you the best Biz in all the years to come. You know you are somewhat family considering that your cousin is married to my brother so you will always have my best wishes. Obby
  14. I myself along with may others are sadden about the fact that ONGAKU's last night was last Friday. I really think that Greg had something here considering the support and respect that he has from most, especially the local artist which he has recently booked at ONGAKU. I am sure everyone wase already aware of the fact that unfortunately the beach is all about $$$$$MONEY$$$$$$ and we are all about the beats. In my eyes the love we have for music does not go well with the love that club owners have for $$$$MONEY$$$$ If I had the power I would grab many of the local DJ's and plant you guys in a club which already has an established crowd and show the crowd what real electronic dance music is. We would show the crowd that there is so much more out there that they have not have had the opportunity to listen to just because they are used to going to the "cool places, the "In" place, The "trendy places". I feel that some of the local promoters (Biz hint hint) should take the responsibility and figure out a way to influence the club owners and their robots...I mean booking staffs to book more of the local talents which are much more advanced in sounds than MOST (have to stress this word to avoid arguments) of the current Miami residents. What the beach lacks I hear in my room and in events such as ONGAKU.
  15. WTF, why did I just find out about this now. Frank? WTF? <-------- Just beat up everyone around me to release my frustration.
  16. Excuuuuuuuuse me then. Did we also go over the fact that I have selective memory? I have nothing against rubias. As a matter of fact I am usually attracted to them. Especially the ones that dye their roots brown.
  17. I take it you are blonde?

  19. Hey, this blonde made out in this situation.
  20. This guy has always dreamed of owning a Harley Davidson. One day he has finally saved up enough money so he goes down to the dealer. After he picks out the perfect bike, the dealer tells him about an old biker trick that will keep the chrome on his new bike free from rust. The dealer tells him that all he has to do is to keep a jar of Vaseline handy and put it on the chrome before it rains, and everything will be fine. He happily pays for the bike and leaves. A few months later, the young man meets a woman and falls in love. She asks him to come home and meet her parents over dinner. He readily accepts and the date is set. At the appointed time, he picks her up on his Harley and they ride to her parent’s house. Before they go in, she tells him that they have a family tradition that whoever speaks first after dinner must do the dishes. After a delicious dinner everyone sits in silence waiting for the first person to break the silence and get stuck doing the dishes. After a long fifteen minutes, the young man decides to speed things up, so he reaches over and kisses his woman in front of her family. No one says a word. Emboldened, he slips his hand under her blouse and fondles her breasts. Still no one says a word. Finally, he throws her on the table and has sex with her in front of everyone. No one says a word. Now he is getting desperate, so he grabs her mother and throws HER on the table. They have even wilder sex. Still no one speaks. By now he is thinking what to do next when he hears thunder in the distance. His first thought is to protect the chrome on his Harley, so he gets his jacket, reaches in his pocket and pulls out his jar of Vaseline. The father says, "Okay, okay, I'll do the dishes!"
  21. The blonde and the lawyer A blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY. The lawyer asks if she would like to play a fun game? The blonde, tired, just wants to take a nap, politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks. The lawyer persists and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun. He explains, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5.00, and vise versa. "Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep. The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500.00." This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game. The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?" The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill and hands it to the lawyer. Okay says the lawyer, your turn. She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?" The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references, no answer. He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the net and the library of congress, no answer. Frustrated, he sends e-mails to all his friends and coworkers, to no avail. After an hour, he wakes the blonde, and hands her $500.00. The blonde says, "Thank you," and turns back to get some more sleep. The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well, what's the answer? "Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.
