Went to DJ's AM's new hotspot ... LAX .... for a celeb Hollywood party last night. PACKED!!!!!! AM and Vice (esp) were really good last night... crowd loved em ... really great spinning. All djs were using serrato (as it appeared). It was a special magazine event featuring AM on the front cover and a big write up inside.

Great party last night. AM and Vice (espec) reallly great on the decks. Venue design - cool, nothing incredible.

Lawler at Avalon last Saturday - Amazing. Lawler - 5 The other Djs - 5+ Ratios - 2 guys to 1 girl Sets - Really good, especially the patio Decore - Great cosmetic changes improved the space Staff - my bartender was wonderful (but not that many people were drinking upstairs) Crowd - very international, luv that. Met people from Paris, Holland, Australia, and England Vibe - great Bad - Never saw so many aggressive guys trying to freak other guy's girls .... with no introduction at a techno scene like this so early (11 pm-12 am) at night. Around 20 times it happening, I stopped counting. Overall - one of the best nights in many months. Really wonderful.

No real intelligent study of the industry ever uses the term "popular" without at minimum qualifing how the pollster determines what is "popular". The term "popularity" doesnt rank a) attendance sales figures c) number of days reaching capacity d) media coverage. to name a few. Statements like People think, "it's in Caesar's, it must be good." or "not because people know about the club personally, they just know about it through heresay. just show an uninformed clubgoer.

You cant rank clubs on "popularity" - it doesnt mean anything. We've been ranking clubs since our first year. As others have said, whats popular to one person is not popular to another. More importantly, "popularity" is not a viable determinent for ranking because its an ambiguous term.
