  2. Metallica's Master of Puppets album. Insane, IMO the best heavy metal album ever made. Who doenst like 'Orion' or "Master of Puppets.'
  3. FYI, not to seem anal, but I have to be "It began in Africa" if I'm correct is "Africa" by Plasmic Honey And in regards to producing great tracks, what about his recents such as his remix of Goodmen's "Give It Up" and Iio's "At The End" Those two tracks show his versatility in creating all types of dance music from house to trance. Not arguing with you, just letting you know.
  4. Good to hear from you JV. Unfortunately, people have a tendency to have tunnel vision and have to hate on all music that isnt "tribal or deep house." IMO, the music that you played was fine maybe cuz I prefer the harder trance stuff. Keep doin what U do...I doubt most of the people who hated on this board can even put a DJ set together and rock parties like you have for the past 10 yrs. On a lighter note, is your website up? If so, whats the web address? Also, nice mix of Goodmen's "Give It Up"
  5. Thought the opening DJ was good till Motorcycle came out..He couldve done a better job not playing all his best stuff in the beginning and spread it out throut his set. Right before Motorcycle it got really boring....I have a feeling JV was late and the DJ had to resort to ok house towards the end... About JV, 1st time I saw him spin in 2 yrs....still playing the hard traxx which is fine for me...left early around 4ish so didnt get to hear the rest of his set... Did he play any uplifting trance? Or was it all hard?
  6. been listening to it lately...nice track....more of a hardcore/semi-hard trance track... dunno of any new track from them..check out their vinyl from 2001 that includes "Arise" and 3 others..one of them is "Children of the Core"
  7. Rock and Soul in midtown 37th and 7th avenue.... Probably get them for $400-$450....thats where i bought my 1210's....
  8. TIM REX - "Relentless" HENNES & COLD - "Second Trip" (SCOT PROJECT MIX) FREESOME - "First Strike" MADD MYLES - "Adrenaline" that should get u going
  9. Trying to build up my classics collection. If there any1 that is willin to sell their PROJECT AURORA - "SINNERS" (THAT KID CHRIS MIX) vinyl? Or are there any recommendations of places to look? thanks
  10. Any1 here listen to hardstyle? Just curious, always been a house head from the beginning, but just cant help liking hardstyle. Always been a fan of the harder stuff.
  11. avalon is actually decent. the muzik and setup are well worth checking out. besides if you get on a guestlist, its only $15. not bad for a club these days.
  12. Havent kept with vicious lately, but had a chance to check him out last nite on KTU around 2ish. I know his style has changed, but he was playing some way different stuff Ive never heard him spin before. Is he playing more tech now? Havent been able to figure out the style of muzik he played last nite. Maybe someone can inform. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the info on Astro & Glyde. I was quite impressed by their muzik selection. This might not be appropriate for the messageboard, but can you include me on your mailing list for any other events theyll be at. Thanks.
  14. Who was the DJ that came on after BT? He was dropping some sick beats, kinda dark tribal. Definitely had me going. My review, well, it was a good nite. Havent been clubbing in a while (say Exit 99-00 days), I had alot of fun. Loved the atmosphere, not drug induced, just people having a fun time dancing. Hung out in the VIP area right above the DJ booth for a while (wasnt even on the list, just got in;-) BT surprised me quite a bit. I always understood him to be a progressive producer, but was actually surprised of his set, really covered the spectrum of dance from breaks, house, progressive house, tech trance to some, not much, melodic trance. And the thing about it, he wasnt even spinnin vinyl! Still good. The crowd, who gives a shit. Its alot about hanging out with your boys or ladies if u have them and enjoying the vibe and muzik. I dont pay to get into a club to judge the crowd. Im too busy trying to enjoy myself and with others around me. I like the guest DJs IMO. It creates a surprise everytime you go in. U dont know what to expect. yeah, still have a resident dj(s), but keep bringin in some new acts.
  15. what i just posted was not my personal statement. i took it from the wall street journal and it was an opinion of a lawyer regarding piracy. sorry.
  16. Grand opening is the first week of october. its suppose to have a good sound system and good lineup of djs. Check out joonbug.com for more info.
  17. I am a lawyer, and therefore could hardly disagree with the premise that the law should be enforced. But there is a side to this dispute that nobody ever discusses, and it leads me to conclude that the RIAA and its member companies and the pirates deserve each other, and I will watch their destruction of each other with amusement and without sympathy for either. The record industry publishes some of the most vile filth available, sells it to teenagers and then smirks all the way to the bank. I won't recite some of the "lyrics" of rap "music" because I assume you know what I mean. As I understand it, the industry smugly states that there's a demand for their product and they're going to fill it, and there is, after all, a First Amendment to the Constitution. My reaction is that there's a demand for kiddie porn too, and we don't have much sympathy for those pornographers when they get dragged off to jail. Bankruptcy is too little punishment for some of these record companies. It's too bad we don't tar and feather people anymore. Thanks again for the thoughtful article. I just wish someone would call these people what they are: pornographers.

    song id

its probably the remake of Goodmen's, i think 1993 track of 'Give it up' i know vicious came out with a track sampling it, its called "back to brazil' and i believe some1 else remade it. its not too hard to find, do a search on satellite records or eightball records website. youre bound to find it.
  19. Maybe Marco V's remix.
  20. Check out Viframa-Cristalle (Hard Bootleg Mix)***one of the better hard traxx in a while*** Tribalistics-Fucked up in the head (Club Mix) Shimono-BLue Marco V- C Del.mp3 and Solarize (Tech Trance)
  21. Gouryella-'Gouryella' Vimana-'We Came' (Gouryella Mix) Blue Harvest-'Plan B' Push-'Universal Nation' (Ferry Corsten Mix) Scot Project-'O' (Overdrive) Gabrielle-'Rise' (Matt Darey Mix) William Orbit-'Barber's Adagio for Strings' (Ferry Corsten Mix) IMO 90% of the traxx Corsten came out with between 1998-2000.
  22. Evan Scott, Im luving the sig! IT ALL ISN'T TECHNO... I hate when people call it Techno!
  23. First off, we need to make a distinction between music and the club scene. As much as it seems though they belong together, they are still two distinct things. No offense, but I think you're too young to know. Listen, Im not much older than you but Ive seen the evolution of the club scene from the early 90's in NYC (limelight, soundfactory bar, roxy, Club USA, Palladium) to its pinnacle in 1998-2000 when Tunnel, Twilo, Roxy & Exit took the reign. I've been into house music since the late 80's (ie. Inner City and so forth). Yes, youre right about the club scene dying but its always been like that, there's a always a period of drought until something new comes around, typically a popular genre of house (or unfortunately a drug). I had my day @ Exit and Roxy, but I think now more than ever, house music is stronger than ever. There's many more artists out there making way more quality music. In fact, look at how many online record stores there are now. Unfortunately, most people tend to associate the two, but if you're a real house fan u dont. I'll give you an example. Look at tribal house these days, its huge. Every club you go to, thats what they're playing, but sad but true, tribal has been around since the early 90's it just that now there's more people willing to accept dance music as a form of art. Sooner or later, eveyything rises from the ashes. In conclusion, support the artists out there and believe me, once the economy turns, the clubs will be back!
  24. Atomix is okay, but Id recommend Traktor.
  25. listen, im all about supporting the industry. theres nothing wrong with checking out the track on mp3 then buying the real deal. im very selective when it comes to buying vinyl. i dont have the money to be dishing out on every record I like especially if im not 110% sure its what i want.
