  1. Looks like he will be playing on tues dec 20th. Might have to check this out and run into all of you boris fans. Last time i heard him was over 6 months ago at discotheque and didnt have a good time. It was his typical sound and in after hrs. So quite curious to see what he will play at CIELO.
  2. That shit was at SOL on fri night and it was my first time attending one of these and it was amazing, didnt know what to expect but it blew my mind. People were fun and all types they had some sort of runway model show for a bit. Music was about 2% commercial and 98% lovely vicious beats. So anybody ever been to one b4?
  3. Heres a quick sample of the music willie graff usually drops around 12am as he begins to pick it up (bout 30 secs): http://www.vitalvinyl.com/library/audioLink.ra?item_id=41067&track_id=13316&type=track And heres tedd as well as he gets warmed up: http://www.music-head.de/sounds/nph-sound.ram?labelcode=32100780 Its about 1:55 in length and then changes into another song but i dont know why in this clip.
  4. Were you talking about the united djs of american cd? Not one of his best, look for his fabric #4 cd, als heres a clip of him playing in italy exactlya yr ago.: http://www.housemusicforum.com/video/Sicily_Tony.mpg
  5. Its my birthday also so its extra exciting first a celebration at sullivan room on thurs the 29th and then on my actualy bday woohoo. Still cant find the shelter flier though.
  6. i guess there is some confusion going on yes it is all about the music for me completely. I cant hide nor dispute the fact that drugs helped fuel the scene from the begining only thing i will say is i think the types of drugs have changed and why people do them. Its like b4 it was to get high and loose and to reach the heavens. Nowadays it looks like people are just numbing themselves with whatever they are taking. If my views on drug use are viewed as negative then i will watch what i say in the future.
  7. marley marl is old school hip hop dj i believe, no wonder it wasnt a great night of music hehe.
  8. Justh heard about this and i think also josh wink, not so sure about that though. See you guys there.
  9. Hes on from 630pm till 830pm.Guess will get to hear a sample of his style b4 he plays SOL later on that night.
  10. Tedd patterson and willie graff def know how to throw down some serious beats. Willie is an amazing dj and a resident dj at cielo as well, hes opened up for roger sanchez, dubtribe recently. Tedd pattersons monthly VIBAL party musically is so consistent. Out of the 31 or so times ive been to this monthly party only 2 nights he wasnt flawless. 12hrs of music by these guys sounds like a great thing. Still not sure if im goin or not yet, sadly, so have fun for those who do go, and if your still looking for something to do afterwards then head over to SHELTER cause im sure thatplace will stay opened till at least 2 or 3o or 4pm like last yr. And if you still have energy after that go to 718 sessions new yrs day opartty starting at 6pm over at deep.
  11. Looks like it was a slow night everywhere, funk/tion,soulgasm,roots, sorry ya had a bad time. Who was playing only kevin or someone else? And its usually busy as hell in there on weds nights when louie vega is on thats a fact. If ya like your beats on the deep level and then progress harder during the night may i recommend you check out tedd pattersons monthly called VIBAL. That party is amazing when it comes to music imagine danny tenaglia at vinyl/arc, thats what it sounds like in there at times for vibal. Cielo still my fave club again sorry ya had a bad time.
  12. thats the problem pyro i do have proof and because i made a topic about it things have been taken wayyyyy out of context. I just wanted to show that some people are given the oppurtunity to make decisions in thier lifes that would change them in some way, but this artist choose not to go that route. Why cant that be respected. Im not saying hes the man for choosing this but im saying i respect him for sticking to his beliefs and morals. I hear your words dkny8, maybe there is something bout the way i speak about things. In reality the only thing i would talk down about is my disliking of trance music. I dont like trance music, why cant i have my opinion. If i said trance sucks and this djs suck well thats for my ears. But obviously trance seems to dominate on a global aspect of things, so it must be doing something right. If ifind another cartoon that is saying how trance sucks i will post it. Just like if i find a cartoon about what househeads are like and its making fun of us i iwll post it also, cause this is a music messageboard and its a music cartoon.
  13. awesome thread 9mile. What it means to be me is post about parties that arent talked about for those who might have a curiousity about other clubs/parties/djs/scenes that they dont know exisit and might wanna check out and see something different. Good looking out Deepspell, sadly though theres to much hate in this board.
  14. its not krivit nor tenaglia at all. So please stop guessing cause its not those. Underground exist in nyc and im not talking bout avalon, crobar, spirit, pacha, etc. Anyhow this has nothing to do with who or what is underground. What i meant by "keeping it real" was this guys priorities, declining a shit load of money based on what his beliefs are. Whats the big deal, not even the peeps over at pacha are this wurked up about it, so why are ya.
  15. thats the deal with these assholes on this board they just like to stir up shit for the sake of it. Chicago is the birthplace of house music thanks to frankie knuckles at the wareHOUSE and Ron hardy at the musicbox. while larry levan took it to another level in nyc at the paradise garage where he included house music in his dance music sets. Techno creators from detroit, juan atkins, kevin saunderson, derrick may were inspired by many influences as well as were inspired by ron hardy at the music box and frankie knuckles at the warehouse: Techno is a form of electronic music that emerged in the mid-1980s and primarily refers to a particular style developed in and around Detroit. The word techno is often misapplied to a number of offshoots of the original Detroit style, such as trance, and is sometimes inappropriately used to describe all electronic dance music styles. Techno was primarily developed in basement studios by "The Belleville Three", a cadre of African-American men who were attending college, at the time, near Detroit, Michigan. The budding musicians – former high school friends and mixtape traders Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson. In the years immediately following the first techno compilation's release, techno was referenced in the dance music press as Detroit's relatively high-tech, mechanical brand of house music, because on the whole, it retained the same basic structure as the soulful, minimal, post-disco style that was emanating from Chicago and New York at the time. The music's producers, especially May and Saunderson, admit to having been fascinated by the Chicago club scene and being influenced by house in particular. 16. Oh is this what the problem is? Yeah this is def nothing bout the music at all. Its really all about his decision based on his morals.
  17. only difference between tenaglia, sanchez and pvd and tiesto is that both roger and danny have played venues unannounced for many reasons, also much smaller venues to cater to a sound they personally like and want to share it with those crowds. And not 1000s of people who just wanna go to the event cause its an event. And also they get to play a certain way that a big room jsut wont understand.
  18. Anything under 130bpm for me please.
