i was there from 2-5. the energy was ok. s man played a lot of techy-house and churning near-progressive house. there were a couple of good tech-tribal numbers. i heard s man about m 7 times in 2006 & this was at the low end of that scale. plastic dreams remix was ok. opa opa by despina vondi at 5 am was a real buzz kill. s man tried to play some edgier numbers a la what danny howells plays in his tech-house sets but altho it was ok, it wasnt anything more. i thought over 3 hrs s man wld take it somewhere else but he didnt. ***1/4 of 5 stars, at the lower end of s man sets ive heard over last 2-3 yrs . i was at another party in soho from 11-2, so it was a decent night over all but i thought s man wld take us MUCH higher

vibe sure sounded good to me. kept me dancing from midnight til at least 430. I thought that was a much better vibe at crobar/mezmor than ive felt in there for a year or more. yes it was wildly crowded espec after 3 or 4 but the energy was excellent & it wasnt as uncomfortable as pacha gets when its really crowded. i like the renovations i noticed. what time did vic start? i thought vibe played a great mix of songs but after 4 am he got somewhat monotonous with a hard closing part of his set. but the earlier 4 hours were great, some good melodies & some very modern trippy songs. vibe's set was 1 of the better ones ive heard since the autumn along with lawler at crobar, cox at pacha & derrick carter at duvet

they can be great but they are not getting logical visible bookings in nyc. they deserve prime nights at love or shelter or cielo or canal room they have played these venues before but they are not getting the monthly marquee dates they deserve . caught some spirit sets like 04-05 they were AWESOME

when jnr is on, like at bassline opening night at shelter & parts of his bank sets in 2006, he is still at the top of world djs. but his dates have been more sporadic & unpredictable & even poorly planned since 2005 at least... he needs a 'home' for monthly or even more frequent parties. vic has crobar; dt has crobar & pacha... jnr deserves a home but i understand he or his mgmy have burned bridges over the years,... Id suggest a monthly at pacha [im not fond of a 9 am start] or crobar or love or even stereo... I dont like cielo sundays .... shelter might be good for jnr .....

junior can still be fucking masasive but his schedule the last 6 months sucks i wish he had a schedule more like dt or vic

who dj-d? i went to raves from early 90s on there were lots of famous djs booked

seems like boris just jumped ship to pacha, obvs pacha believes in his music. I have no opinion yet but i will chk boris out in 2007

is that a broadcast station too, besides internet? do they have any well known djs? the best thing about ktu was shows by roger sanchez, oakey, liquid todd, morales etc when ktu killed those shows they lost my listenership forever

one of my 2007 wishes is more knuckles in nyc in 2007. hes played sbny a few times in reecnt years. cielo sounds a good locale but this absolute innovator & house master since the mid 80s deserves more nyc dates & more attention in 2007. fyi when twilo opened circa 1996 or so knuckles was a resident, playing saturday nights between 2 and 4 times monthly

i think duvet fridays shows a lot of promise. id love to see derrick carter there in 2007. also a return date for sneak

its trying to be a jnr fan but he can still deliver. this year the bassline sheletr opening night & both bank sets were superb. but stereo thksgving was horrid, amonmg worst 2 or 3 club nights i had in 2006. twilo cld be great. discotq i loved from 11 pm to 6 am - smart hours that other clubs & djs shld imitate. he is very up & down. i think his productions/remixes are brilliant tho. im still going for jnr every month or 2 but i hv never known a dj to book so many dates & cancel them - like the 2 LOVE events that were sked-ed for jan &n feb 2007. well hopefully he'll have even better 2007 dates for us like stereo, love, pacha.... I still love jnrs music & still represent for him after so many years ,,, but it can be a challenge. I think the 10 pm - 4 am hammerstein event for $100 is an insult to his fans & he shld really play a 4 am to 12 noon pre new yrs after hours for us for $20 - but i realize thats moot now see u in 2007 HAPPY NEW YEAR every body ps I LOVEEE Jnrs remixes & productions !!!!!!!!

gabe are you talking the shelter event that starts late saturday night/ early sunday or is there another shelter event on new years eve, sunday night into monday morning etc? i was going to maybe hit shlelter late saturday night/sunday am like 3 am for ben.... didnt know they had a new years eve event too..????
