  1. I feel bad for the guy. It is a shame we live in a country where it is often strategically beneficial for one to hide something so fundamental to one's identity. When will we realize that our public face of prude morality makes us a nation of hypocrites? It would be quite interesting to see what would happen if he came out of the closet but did not resign.
  2. It is always funny when my co-workers that don't work out have a more advanced client and have to demonstrate something a little bit more difficult than a machine - like a dip, pullup or some power movement on the swiss balls and cannot do a single rep. I would say that like 60% of the trainers I have met would not be able to perform say 5 reps of something really basic like a swiss ball pushup (hands on the ball) in perfect form.
  3. That really surprised me when I started working as a trainer. Most of the fat trainers I have met really know their shit, and at one point were really fit. Still though, how are you supposed to tell someone "ohh working out 3 days a week is nothing" when you don't do it yourself. I think they should be required to workout at least three days a week. I am by no means "jacked" but am a solid 210lbs and am pretty cut - unlike hunk, I am not looking to be a bodybuilder, I am more shooting for the underwear model body lol, but you can judge for yourself: http://community.webshots.com/user/mishkanchuvak It is quite funny to watch though when the 45 year old out of shape trainers think they are hot shit and try to live up to the womanizing stereotype by hitting on 20 year old girls (or try to).
  4. I have a better one by the Gipper: "You can tell a lot about a fellow's character by his way of eating jellybeans." - Ronald Reagan.
  5. Unless you know where to park (both on the street and cheap garages) it is probably cheaper for you to take public transport than drive. I remmember the first time I drove into the city I ended up spending like $30 for parking, for just having dinner. But you can find garages that offer a flat rate for like $12-15, and certain parts of the city have decently ample street parking. It has never taken me more than 10 minutes to find street parking if I try the cobblestones on the lower west side.
  6. I am a personal trainer for New york sports clubs, freelance fitness/glamour photographer (www.PiroPhoto.com) and a philosophy major in college (going to be an attorney).
  7. That is perfect, because maybe then they will go with me onto the house/trance floor, because I really dont feel like dancing to hip hop all night. Although if the girls are really so pretty in the hip-hop room, that might provide ample motivation to stay in hip-hop lol. I need to find myself a city girl.
  8. A girl that is from the gym I am a trainer at wants to bring a bunch of her friends (all girls) with me to go to a NYC club. (since I went to all of ONE club there I am now the official nyc club expert to her lol) The problem is they don't like "techno" they want hip-hop, while I on the other hand want some decent music. I am thinking of going to Avalon because it seems like a pretty decent place that also has a hip-hop room. I want to go friday night and the dj seems good, but I am not picky - give me a half decent beat and some pretty girls and I am happy. Is this a good choice or should I try someplace else? Also would they let me into avalon if I had a beater (a nice one) because last week I wore a nice italian button down and I was DRENCHED, and I really want to dance the whole night again and I dont see how I can do that if I dress nice. The cover there is $30 right? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
  9. That is irrelivent, they cannot search your non-p2p shared files unless they have a court order. What they do is search for files on a p2p network, and see who is sharing a ton. They then connect to his/her computer thus finding out their IP (internet protocol) number. Using this number, they can find out who is your ISP and get your name from them. Only then can they get an order to seize your computer and see what you have on the hard disk, but at that point it is already too late. You do not have much to be afraid of, the whole goal of the RIAA is to scare you away, I would say that the chances of getting busted is akin to winning the lotto. They operate like terrorists.
  10. I understand what you are saying, however I am talking about the letter of the law. Most poeple know copyright law from the FBI warnings on films that promise $250,000 fines, however the law is more complicated than that. The fines are compounded based on proven damages that the were sustained by the copyright violation, and then are multiplied by a set number to determine the penal fine. An end user would not be able to inflict sufficient "damages" to warrant a huge fine, the hundred thousand dollar fines would only be applicable by the law for gross violations, such as the distributer to all the pirated DVD merchants in chinatown. An end user could hypothetically compound fines of say $20,000 according to the law though, but again, that would be knocked down in court if the RIAA were to pursue that avenue (as long as the defendant had competent counsel).
  11. No jury would award the record companies hundreds of thousands of dollars for an end user pirate, nor are the terms of US copyright law that call for six figure fines applicable to an end user pirate. The RIAA knows that, so they settle the cases usually for around $2500. It is not profitable for them to sue, it is just a scare tactic.
  12. Personally I would rather dance to something faster, but if I was just sitting at home or driving I would rather listen to the deephouse than trance. Hot song though.
  13. OK, thats what I thought they were, thanks for clearing that up. So basically, I have to wear loafers to a club? That kinda sucks if I want to dance, due to the lack of comfort and because I will get pissed when someone steps on them and they get scuffed. Would something cheap with a big rubber sole, but still a "loafer" from say Aldo work? like this: Or, I have to wear like a nice leather soled one, say a Gucci with a metal clasp? Keep in mind this is webster hall I am talking about lol......I am assuming for a place like avalon the gucci's are required.
  14. Excuse my ignorance, but what the hell are diesels? Are those like the dressy sneakers that everyone from prada all the way down to aldo make?
  15. I have been clubbing in europe alot, so $7-10 for a beer is nothing compared to what you pay in say paris. But out in CT, beers are a buck haha.
  16. How is spirit compared to webster hall? Do they play house?
  17. It is 18 for girls, 21 for guys. Since I do not think they would let in a 6'5, muscled, scruffy facial haired transvestite I will be sticking to being a guy, for now . But Avalon looks way better than webster hall.
  18. eh lol will there at least be pretty girls dancing to the pop trance because in the clubs in CT not only does the music suck but it's 1 girl for every 10 guys? I have to be in NYC on business earlier in the day so I might as well go, but I think next week when I get a new fake I will go to avalon.
  19. I live an hour from NYC (in CT) and am sick of the clubs here that are filled with white trash or "gangstas" and think good house music is sandstorm. This is going to be my first time clubbing in NYC, and I am thinking Webster Hall because my fake won't be back online until next week (I am 19). What is the crowd like there, and how is the music? Should I come there wearing gucci or is it more casual? Around what time does it really get hopping? Is it a good place to meet new people, or is it cliquey? Thanks
