Sorry to burst your bubble Saleen, but if you wanna see someone tear Space apart book two guys. They are collectively known as Slam. They have been around for ages and they have made many classic records. Eterna , Positive Education and Lifetimes come to MInd. Lifetimes and Diabla were the records of 2001. Don't believe me then tell me why everyone was closing with the Heavenly Mix of Diabla most of last year or why no one could get over the smooth vocal of Lifetimes. Spacious your in luck cause they are on tour in Sept. They are playing @ Centro Fly 9/21 and the Tronic Treatment boat party the 22nd. So book them the 20th or something. Should be a wicked night out and I think it would draw a different crowd to Space. Their sets at Farbic are lengendary and I'm not even going to the sets in GLasgow. Pretty much I wanna see these guys before WMC 2003. So someone for the love of god make it happen.

DEEP DOWN IN MIAMI,

some back ground info for you guys..

The Low End Specialists

Mac C and Ali Geramian are the Low End Specialists. They've come a long way in a blindingly short time by doing things right the first time around. From their very first official remix – of DJ Vibe & Rui Da Silva’s classic 'So Get Up – to recent work for the likes of Bedrock and Yoshitoshi, Mac C and Ali have delivered tough 21st century tribal house, infused with a progressive international flavor, but powered by a distinctly New York energy and class.

“One of my favorite artists/producers with an edge. These guys will just keep on pushing.... they have covered club land with enthusiasm others need to learn from!†Omid 16B

Before the LES, Mac was already one of NY's well-known DJ's, a Sound Factory resident and regular guest of Danny Tenaglia’s at his legendary Be Yourself night at Vinyl. They now hold down monthly residencies in New York at Groove Jet & Filter14. Ali was an up and coming producer and DJ, but it wasn’t until the pair met through mutual friends four years ago that the seed for the Low End Specialists was planted. Not long after that first meeting, the pair turned out some tracks for themselves, something to help them stand out in the competitive NY house scene. But it was a telling factor that some of the first people to support their tracks just happened to be guys like Danny Tenaglia & Omid “16B†Nourizadeh.

"Mac and Ali are seasoned vets ready to get large – two to watch." John

Creamer & Stephane K

With their remix of the Underground Sound Of Lisbon’s classic ‘So Get Up’ (Kaos) came the breakthrough that many producers hope for. The track received support from Satoshi Tomiie, Deep Dish, Steve Lawler and was featured by John Digweed on his KissFM radio show. They’ve since remixed the likes of Danny Tenaglia & Steve Lawler including a remix of Fierce Ruling Diva's 'You Gotta Believe' (React), which was rinsed out by the entire A-list of tribal progressive house and eventually found its way on to Satoshi Tomiie's NuBreed album for Global Underground. Mac and Ali's original productions have been just as well received, with Deep Dish charting 'Smoked Piece' (Hydrogen Records) at #4, and requesting the duo's unique sound for several remixes including the now-classic 'Dub Me Sometin' Fresh' by the 6400 crew.

"Mac C and Ali Geramian are part of a new breed of producers emerging from

the long-stagnant NY scene, poised for great success and recognition

in the coming year, with a slew of original material and remixes-many of which

we have been fortunate enough to have played to enthusiastic

audiences..." Ali Shirazinia (Deep Dish)

We're already halfway into 2002 and LES are in the throes of inking an album deal, touring the world relentlessly, and the remix offers now outweigh the free hours in a day. The move from prodigies to peers of their heroes has been lightning fast, and the buzz surrounding them grows ever louder. It’s the kind of buzz that ends up selling large numbers of records. But you don’t so much hear word of it; you feel it - ‘cause it’s a Low Frequency thing, of course.

Mixer Magazine May 2002:

The Low End Specialists “Smoked Piece†(Hydrogen) 9 out of 10

The New York based duo of DJ Mac C & Ali Geramian take you into battle with the distant sound of thundering tribal drums and echoing industrial hits. This is the darker, more enigmatic side of progressive house. After the darkness has completely consumed you, there is a modest but effective breakdown, after which a flood of color drops on top of a bass line that could breathe on its own.

Satoshi Tomiie Nu Breed [Compilation/Global Underground]

Satoshi’s first Nu Breed will feature The Low End Specialists remix of Fierce Ruling Diva’s “You Got To Believe†to be released on React Records September 2002. Deep Dish also charted this remix at #5 in November 2001.

“6 Hubert Street also had it's share of NY violence and Police crackdowns which brought the venue to a halt for a short period, and then once again reopened as Shelter with Timmy Regisford again and now there was also a new promoter on the scene named Nick who threw a party there called "VINYL." He had DJ's like little Louie Vega, Tony Humphries and the likes of playing for him and he would visit me at Twilo and was always very friendly and outgoing. He would come the WMC every year as well and would always ask me "Danny, when are you going to come and play for me at Vinyl?" I would have to thank him and decline his offer because I was exclusive to Twilo at the time and I hoped one day I would be able to play that room for him, and for myself as it was, and still is a "magical" room! Many, many DJ's want to play at Vinyl and I take pride in giving many new incredible DJ's a shot a playing there hoping that in return it will become a start of a possible new career for them. If you haven't been there to hear along with me or for me, Deep Dish, Manny Ward, Rob Sperte, Antranig, Mac C & Ali (The Low End Specialists), Cevin Fisher, Tilt, Smokin Jo, Oscar G, Tom Stephan, Mike Cruz, Jo Mills, Dan Robbins, and many others…Then your missing out! As I can only accommodate so many guest DJ's, I have to go with my gut instincts and choose the people I feel are the most genuine. However, the bottom line is also talent as well, and I have been impressed by all these DJ's mentioned above and soooo many more.†Danny Tenaglia on Club Vinyl’s (NYC) evolution. June 5, 2002

“IF one more person mentions tears in connection with that bloody Satoshi Tomiie album I swear to God I’m going to start crying. You knew about Satoshi doing a Nubreed didn’t you? Forget the Frankie Knuckles deep house weepie classic the past few years have seen NY-based Japanese wonder-boy Satoshi pioneering a whole new groove. According to our in-house expert, the driving beats of tracks like Love In Traffic wig out somewhere between deep house, US garage and steely European trance. Just what that means is anyone’s guess. Anyway the albums as dark and nasty as his recent DJ sets and includes stuff like his remix of Kosheen’s hit Hungry, tracks from Geordie lads Lexicon Avenue and a Low End Specialists remix of Fierce Ruling Diva’s classic You Gotta Believe that, well, you’ve just got to believe.†An Excerpt From Global Underground’s Update on June 2, 2002

"Mac and Ali are seasoned vets ready to get large -- two to watch" John Creamer & Stephane K

"Mac C and Ali Geramian are part of a new breed of producers emerging from the long-stagnant NY scene and are poised for great success and recognition in the coming year with a slew of original material and remixes-many of which we have been fortunate enough to have played to enthusiastic audiences..." Ali Shirazinia (Deep Dish)

"We’d be honored to one day have a Low End Specialists record for SAW.Recordings. They’re 2 great guys living and loving what they do best and they are obviously in it for the long run." Hector Romero & Satoshi Tomiie (SAW.Recordings)

“One of my favorite artists/producers with an edge. These guys will just keep on pushing.... they have covered club land with enthusiasm others need to learn from!†Omid 16B

“Keep your eyes on these boys, Mac and Ali have this distinct bottom heavy sound. No wonder they call themselves Low End Specialists†Palash (Saeed & Palash)

"Two guys from NYC to keep an eye out for. The Low End Specialists, the name says it all!" Saeed (Saeed & Palash)

i have heard a couple of tracks remixed by both low end specialists and masi & mello....very very good stuff.....having either one of these people at space would be outta hand....lately mr. Puig has done alot of good things bringing in talent to space (Burridge - words cant explain what a treat that was/Tom Stephans- Ditto)....i know he will try the best he can to bring these top notch talents into space or spin....
