  1. yes sir....I love watching VH1 I love the 80s segments to bring back the mems...so good!
  2. Dan, sometimes you really articulate my sentiments precisely...."core values".....these "values" have been the antithesis to our society's progression forward......Granted, there are many justified traditions, but some are simply outdated and cause more problems than good.... fundamentalism, religion, cultural seclusion, and so much more only further segregate ourselves from each other...the worst wars in history have been battled over religion...my god when you think about it!! people bludgeoning eachother over an afterlife... Like george carlin says, we should all just fuck eachother until we're one color and one breed of human....we wont be able to make any distinctions between eachother...and then there will be one human race-- I'm down.
  3. ;D I hate neither...both are fantastic people. Â Id rather sleep with the french though..something about that accent and attitude that I find sexy. Â 8) se bon....mmmm....oui se bon. ive been with em' all, i must say, and Europeans in general are just so fun to hook up with! And all those different ways to express certain sexual feelings and emotions...it can be a learning; enlightening experience.
  4. 1. Skids 2. Z Cavariccis 3. perms 4. mullets 5. plastic shoes 6. Debbie Gibson 7. Diff'rent Strokes 8. Garbage Pail Kids 9. Thundercats 10. Crack!! (kidding!) I love the 80's....
  5. I forgot to mention as well...I was talking with someone at APT, named Brett Cosmo Thorngren....he was with Boy George....going on and on about some song he remixed called "Mystic." Â you guys ever heard of this? Â and now for the punch line..., mrs. george got infuriated that I was having a mere conversation with this dude....she said, "you know, he's only trying to get in your pants." and proceeded to give me the "talk to the hand cuz the chubby painted face aint listenin" and stormed off. Â I couldnt help but laugh out loud at that one....what a bitch! Â too funny... I guess I'd be pretty jaded and cynical if I had such an utterly wretched show bomb on broadway...coupled with substantial weight gain. Â (plus he's british so I presume he's uncircumsized.... :-X)
  6. tim you were the only link missing this night... :'( the night was a bit ironic... eddie and carl were sober. carl and laura weren't shouting. dave and joanna were there! so good to be with them--- lisa had blond hair (so cute by the way, you're gonna love it)
  7. gk: Sunday is the "assteria" party, if im not mistaken. I hear it's pretty ghetto, with a ghetto fab eccletic mix of pimps and hoes, with a gay thug twist- rob fernandez and scott aguiar throw it. Rob also does danny T at arc and some other stuff, as well as subliminal sessions here in nyc. music depends on the night, but sunday is Hip hop, latin, and dark techno downstairs, i believe.
  8. celestial song...piano sounds so terrific in mixes....mindcircus, coldplay-- I also like acoustic guitar...like when PVD spins "Ocean to Shore" on the run.....ohhh man Carisa and John if you dont have this track get it, it's fuckin amazing live---- and Unkle - state of mind (sasha mix) is a nice melodic tune sasha spins with great guitar in it.
  9. good songs timo... and vic said it well, its merely a "stupid drunken time," not a star-studded celebrity red carpet affair...the coolest people, in my opinion, have a great balance of fun...from the glitz and the glam to the downright silly 80's affairs...those are the most beautiful people in my world. Personally, I have just as much fun having a maitre-d pop open a bottle of veuve clicquot and toasting to good health at a celebrity event as I do throwing down dirty shots in a smelly East Village bar.

    Happy Bday Markus!!!

happy bday, nyc junkies are very excited to see you at the conference this year...
  11. yes darling, we definitely dance to the same beat, im handcuffing you to my arm when i get down to the wmc.
  12. negative bitch monster, nah....you're more like 1. the bright lights that suddenly come on when an amazing club closes... 2. chronic cough or flu 3. rain on a tropical vacation 4. going bald 5. a hangnail 6. the sound of someone chewing with their mouth open 7. a twitch or lisp 8. braces 9. acne 10. bad halitosis ;D 8) :-*
  13. http://www.ci.nyc.ny.us/html/mail/html/maildca.html Miss Gretchen Dykstra is responsible for stirring all this up. With that name, I'd be a miserable grintch as well. the above link will allow you to send her an email. But remember, angry animated emails will only add fuel to a fire---if you write to her, tailor it to be persuasive, intelligent, pointed and concise.
  14. is damon the whistle I constantly hear in my ferry space set from Jan 3rd? Â if so, you must pop blood vessels in your face blowing that thing so much. that set is really kick ass...like i said on the ny site, I can go forever on the elyptical with that playing in my ears....it is not signature ferry style either, I really enjoy it...I think DJs come to Space and love it so much, that it brings out some raw talent and gives them the balls to explore some experiments. Â maybe.
  15. beware dinaire...im obsessed with good 80's nights...Don Hill's on Thursday's is the best 80's party in the city...i hope you can contend, because Id love to have a great 80's party so close to home! Opaline, I know Ive been there before, and very recently i think? my friends, can you help me remember? vic it's too bad rebecca is living in Ireland these days....her and I used to be such a great combo at 80's parties-== i mean, she and I would get so wild--- what is everyone's favorite 80's? what first comes to mind for me, most michael jackson trax, billy joel, elton john, queen, pink floyd, john lennon, the police, duran duran, peter gabriel, george michael, U2, and the queen of all 80's....Madonna 8)---
  16. you've got great energy...you must be Latino....my favoriteeee people  8) call me Ev or Evan, that is my name.  8)
  17. I spent this past weekend, yet again, enfermo as ever....however that didnt stop me too much.... Friday, we had Jessica's birthday party at Oz on 50th and 1st...of course little jessica looked adorable and i was definitely very happy that most of our friends turned out for the event- the venue was definitely perfect for our occassion....we didnt want to do a nightclub and the back room definitely was super, and being able to smoke cigs was a nice perk. My motto stands, fuck that law! I feel like most places allow smoking nowadays, alls it takes is a little persuasion. Anyways, I was very pleasantly suprised when I saw that Nick and Charles came around 12:30 or 1. It was so great to see you both, and I hope you had fun. I had at least a few drinks in me already, so I apologize if I introdced you to the same person several times (Nick I think I introduced you to Jessica several times even though you had met her before....my mind was a bit scrambled organizing) regardless it was great to talk with you in depth about the conference and all the terrific things cooljunkie has in store this year...Clearly nick you are really looking forward to this and I was totally feeding off your enthusiasm...cant wait, man. PS, Sarah, Nick said he missed you. I thought that was very cute and nice... Charles of course your omnipresence was great, as always---your sarcasm and wit always make me laugh, and your wise ass friend tricked me as well- (before i saw charles and nick, their friend was pretending to be a bouncer and throw me out of the bar...haha. I thought he was a cop or something, I was getting a bit sassy, like, "I dont think so sirrrr") I wish you guys had more time to chill, we actually had a really good time and didnt end up leaving til a little bit past 5am...we were going to go to Crobar but decided to just go back to my apartment. Some debauchery ensued there that stays behind closed dooooooors 8) I heard Judge Jules at Avalon was garbage. 18+?? what is that? that better not be a permanent thing.... saturday I slept for roughly 15 hours. I finally got my voice back and I woke up feeling almost completely better...I went to the gym, banged out the elyptical for 45 mins (I must admit, the ferry set from Space on January 3rd is exceptional to listen to on that machine...I felt like i was dancing right to the beat---makes it easier to werk out hard ) Sunday night I went to an ab-fab superbowl party at Fiamma's osteria in Soho----went to a party on the 3rd floor----a friend of mine's PR company threw it and we went to indulge in the open bar and fantastic italian food....I dont think I saw a second of the superbowl....just reveled in the gorgeous people and sipped the Chianti until my face got really red. Moved on to a couple dry martinis after....the bartender looked just like paul van dyk too, I kept telling him so...next thing I knew my friend and I gathered around 8 or 9 of the fun people there and went to APT....got a table and a couple bottles of champagne and relaxed there for a bit....I must say that APT is such a great place to go on Sunday----can get a bit over the top...but i think most of the time it has the one of the best and genuine NYC crowds to be found....in fact, Tyler and Patrick's Sunday @ APT has been rated as one of the top 5 parties in the country...did ya know that? And talk about a sexy crowd...my god, I was lovin it...Saw sooooo many people I havent seen in months...I used to go to APT religiously on sundays but stopped about 5 months ago--- You have to be careful though, cuz APT Sunday is a school nite and sometimes we can get lost in that place and next thing you know it's light out and you have to be at work in 45 minutes. Thankfully I left around 3 and came home to rest. Yet another ridiculously fun weekend--- 8) Please tell me about yours!
  18. THAT SONG, "TAKE ME HIGHER".....i hate it. if it is the one im thinking of, than i really cant see how anyone could love it...and I rarely am close minded like that, but it's just garbage!
  19. awwesome! thanks so much. I really cannot take that track, its so good.
  20. LMAO means "laughing my ass off" and the other is the same but the F in the middle is profanity, take a wild guess. as for the signature ive got going on here....it is a song I heard in Ibiza---has a cool guitar in it, spanish claps, and the translation in wonderful.... "let's enjoy ourselves in the sun....everday is a party..."
  21. I thought about that as I wrote the above statement....however there is a difference bewtween a behavior being banned vs. the entire establishment being forced to close at a certain verrrrry early hour. Imagine nyc closing at 1am! jesus christ some nights I dont even go out until after 1am...
  22. it would have a big economical and social impact....i cant imagine something like tihs actually happening....
  23. haha. you're great. I seriously cant wait for this event....should be 'smashing'---
  24. there's a lot more to the global CD than just his music....i think its on a much bigger scale, how music is global, and it is really the one of the few pure things we have in this world that doesntcome with borders and divisions-- as a producer myself, I noticed many creative elements in the global DVD that were impressive and creative----like having the table of contents page be the airport signage changing, the effects were perfect--not too complicated and overwhelming but a great complement to the music and visuals...the transitions were very fluid and almost hypnoitizing at times, and the way they used so many visual elements to tell the story...there is no narration, just music and images...the producer changes cities seamlessly by showing shots of planes landing in each cities airport, then you get various, organized images of the culture of the city that was landed in--- it's amazing, and as far as I know, nothing has been done like that by a DJ before, at least not that Ive ever seen. Tiesto made his "Another Day in the OFfice" dvd....and it doesnt even come close to the quality of PVD's Global....Tiesto's dvd is riddled with mistakes, subtitles misspelt and sometimes even wrong, and their editor clearly didnt know what he was donig at moments.===cut off people talking, and more, it could have been tweeked so much more... there';s a lot more i have to say but i have to go to work.. i gotta say tho, after watching global I was really inspired to leave my current job and pitch doing this for DJs....someday maybe...
