I totally agree joeserra. That water incident I had was @ DJias in Belmar. I really thought those chicks were crazy! But being the nice person I am I tried to calmly tell them to stop it (at least in my direction) but to no avail. I really wanted to smack the mess out of them and throw thier water pistols clear across the bar. I am actually going to DJias Friday night and I WILL do it if they act up with that crap. Please don't think I am a mean person, but I don't like to be violated like that. It really takes a lot for me to get pissed and kick someones butt. When going to clubs like Vinyl, I just need DT as my drug, he can have me going all night. In Jersey, I do have like 1 drink to get going. As far as hip-hop clubs a couple of drinks now and then. Well its kind of corny, but my name can be broken down into 3 parts. Here's the story...I went to Vinyl one Friday night (Go DT!!!), hence the VIN part...I met a guy down there named James, hence the JIM part...and I was jammin' in Vinyl (to the music and James) so there you have it...JAMJIMVIN...Since there is no more James..it should be JAMVIN, but it loses its character... Being a native valid 23 y.o. NYer, I was a little peeved at the bouncers @ Headliners. I went on line and presented my authentic (real) NY license and the bouncer had the nerve to say, "You have a backup ID? This is too close...You are '77, but '75 or better is understandable" I could not beleive that. I came all the way down to the Jersey Shore - which is in West you know what, showed a valid ID to a bouncer at a club that is not all of that to be that selective. I mean it was a little flattering for him to think I was younger than 21 but come on...Is it THAT easy to make a fake NY license? I mean I am 23...How can that be "too close". That 2 f*ing years off my life that he is trying to deny of me. And BTW the guys I were with were 24..So lets do the math...If he is looking for b-day's of '75 or better, wouldn't my friends (mostly born in '76) have problems too? At first I thought he was racist but then I came to the conclusion that he must have had something stuck up his you know where the sun don't shine. So to rectify this situation...I calmed down, went to another line and went right in w/o any problems and had a good time. Has anyone else experienced this type of tragedy @ clubs? Considering it was my first time there, it was ok. I brought a friend along (another fellow NYer) and she didn't believe me that there is a club in Jersey that could be packed on a Wednesday night. As we made our way down from Jersey City listening to DT Global Underground (of course) in the car, we prepared ourselves to be entranced in an "Abyss" of music to dance the night away. The club was very easy to find and as we approached the club @ around 11:00 PM, there was hardly a long wait to get in. Once inside, I was taken aback a bit by a wall of cool lights that brought memories of club Life in NYC. As we walked in and made our way to the back, we were somewhat suprised that there hardly any people on the dance floor. We decided to "start" the party so we just went around the white sheer curtains onto the small dance floor. The music was ok, I really wasn't into too much of the vocals and stuff but I decided hey I am here and I am going to enjoy it. It was a little sad there weren't too many older guys on the dance floor. We spent most of our time enjoying the cool air from one side of the dance floor. The music in the basement could have been a little better if it was keeping true to the name of being a hip-hop room. For a sec, I felt I was at a house party and another time @ the likes of Webster Hall. To cut my review short, overall I had a decent time. The house music upstairs had a little too much vocals and Baez was ok. The sound system though could have been better (maybe having some speakers on the floor for a true bass effect) and the snow effect was pretty cool. I would probably re-visit Abyss but not on Wednesday. Its not worth being crazy tired the next day @ work. See y'all @ Tempts Sat! ------------------ Tutto e possibile!
