  1. What brought on the resurrection of this particular thread?
  2. Kutekimee, I leave you alone only for a little while, and you're already deeply-involved in a bitter love triangle?!?! Hit me up sometime soon.
  3. I'll most likely be down for this tonight. Haven't checked out Chris in a while. He's a remarkable talent.
  4. I'll be at a house party at my cousin's house in Atlanta. Should be a nice little party. It's nice to change up the atmosphere once in a while, and for some reason, chilling down South seems appealing this time around.
  5. In my opinion, technically, Skribble is the better dj. He's far more versatile, and can go back and forth between musical genres and fuck around on the one and twos unlike many djs I've seen. Of course, Skribble is a commercial dj, but who can blame him? He's financially set, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. He may not focus his attention on house music production or spinning at underground venues, but he's an undeniable talent. Over the years, I've been to many parties in the Hamptons and NYC where Skribble was spinning nothing but house, and his track selection / mixing was remarkable. Also, at no time during those parties did he bombard the crowd with MTV pop dance music; in fact, most of the tracks he dropped proved that his knowledge of music extends far beyond hip hop and MTV pop. He's very knowledgeable in many genres, including house music, and that is what a true dj should be (in my opinion). In short, Skribble is truly a dj in every sense of the word, and even though I've had many fun nights at SF over the years, I'd pay to hear Skribble over JP anyday (assuming the party was strictly a house music party).
  6. Wuddup Mikey. How have things been going? I need to hit you up soon. If I don't talk to you soon, enjoy your Christmas & New Years, and be safe.
  7. I'm not at work today, but I should be getting a jump on the fuckload of work that I had to take home from my job. Instead, I woke up late, ran to the airport, came back home, and made the mistake of laying back down in bed. I'm not in the mood to do anything today, so I'll most likely get a jump on everything on Christmas day. As for what I'm listening to right now: I'm not listening to anything but the sound of my fingers clattering against the keyboard. I'm so fuckin hungry. I think some West Indian food is in order - boneless jerk chicken (extra spicy) with shrimp fried-rice.
  8. This Sunday's a little hectic, but next Sunday I'll try to stop by. Call me when the eye of Hurricane Oswald is upon you.
  9. This definitely does suck, especially in light of some of the parties / lineups that team Nation managed to put together on Long Island since the party began. I don't think any other party on LI has ever accomplished - or will ever accomplish - what Nation accomplished for the period that it existed. Let's show some serious support for the next three Fridays, and send the party out with a bang. I'm sure many will be pleased with the lineup for Razor's birthday, the TBA lineup, and Boris.
  10. The night turned out to be really good. Razor did an incredible job keeping the crowd vibing until the end.
  11. Yep, that looks like the same dude. He's fuckin nasty.
  12. I'm sure many have seen this clip on more than one occasion, but it still cracks me up. At some freestyle dancing contest for youths, the second kid, who looks like he doesn't even know how to dance, winds up killing all of the competition with his moves. To this day, I haven't seen anyone who's this loose with his/her body: http://www.big-boys.com/articles/robotdance.html
  13. I just might be heading over there for that, even though I should be keeping my ass in the house.
  14. This Sunday morning's going to be a lot of fun. Razor is no joke on the one and two's afterhours. Hopefully Jeff will pull some nasties out of the crates. He also drops some pretty good shit when he's at the right venue. Big Joseph and I will be in attendance.
  15. Good lineup for tomorrow night. I'm excited to hear Micro on his stomping grounds. Homage to Caffeine night!
  16. Never went to NASA, but went to Caffeine as young tyke.
  17. The original post in this thread was actually an enjoyable read.
  18. SX137 maybe? I went there once or twice a few months ago on a Saturday night, and the afterhours weren't too bad. I didn't stay too long though. The DJ at the time was Alejandro Santos (Alex Tech), and he was actually pretty good. The place you're describing sounds a bit different, however.
  19. I can't wait for tonight. Long Island has been stagnant for a while, but no more. This party has been banging out some crazy nights since it opened, and those who have been lucky enough to share the experience know very well how crazy this party can get with the talent that it brings in. Unlike many clubs in NYC and Long Island, we have an a nasty team of djs always on hand to tear shit up, so we're never short of talent. Everyone throws something into the mix and creates a nasty blend of house music selection. Tonight, Rick Santiago of Twisted Records and Louie Corrales together for the main event - what more needs to be said? We have a nice, intimate little spot, so bring on the costumes and the decadence. The party will be fuckin reckless tonight - Halloween at Nation, for all of the Long Island house heads to indulge in and enjoy. Long Island has been providing NYC with more than 80% of its patronage for years, so we deserve a party out here just for us, where we can escape all the needless bullshit that defines so many other parties. This is right here in our backyard, and it's all ours..... There are too many house heads on this Island to let this party dwindle. It's up to us to keep a culture alive on this Island that we enjoy so much. Come out, show your support, enjoy a great fuckin night, and play your part in bringing house culture back to Long Island. I think many of you will be surprised at what this party brings out of the talent that comes through its doors. The djs all drop an especially nasty blend of beats whenver they stop in, regardless of how they spin anywhere else.....and that's the only fuckin way we like it. The night is ours. 20$ without a costume; $10 with a costume Doors open at 10 pm Strictly house music Wear what the fuck you want - just come ready to dance and enjoy a long night of Twisted beats
  20. I'm going to try to show up a bit early so I can witness the feeding. Also, I don't want to miss a minute of what these guys will be throwing down tomorrow night.
  21. Shit is going to get extremely hectic this Friday night. Rick never fucks around with his track selection, and he brings only the dirtiest beats. Louie's dropped some wicked beats throughout his career, at different spots from from Washington to New York. He'll definitely bring something great to Nation tomorrow night.
  22. The Chucky dolls were adorable, especially before his face got all scarred up and shit. The "Bride of Chucky" installment sent the series in a whole new direction, but it also allowed more room for Chucky to say and do funny shit.
