Thanks for all the support. Well, we had our meeting and I didn't end up in jail. The guy was very surprised and genuinely upset that this was such an issue for us, so Iguess that is good. He apologized if he mis-lead us, although he didn't really admit to the conversation where he said it would only be a small party. He did want us to feel good about the place and our day. He ended up reducing our price and giving us a few extras (seafood bar and pastry table, I'll bring the leftovers to a meetup) which was nice but not really the point. He described how it wouldn't be an issue and they do it all the time and walked us through the day. I heard from some other vendors that work with the hall that they can handle this many parties without issue so I am feeling better and have a moderate level of confidence at this point that our day will be as we had originally envisioned. My girl was happy/relieved so that was most important. Thanks again for the words of support.

I don't even know if they exist. A little embarrassed asking (I try to erase any cultural aspects of the 80s from memory)but a friend of a friend is looking to go with a party of 10-15 and I said I would see if there were any promoters that would want to set soemthing up. This isn't club related and I know that there are far more significant problems in the world but I need to rant a bit! I got engaged in September. My girl has been working hard to plan a wedding that will be the least stressful for all involved. Last night we go to our reception hall for a tasting of their menu items. We end up hearing through casual conversation that there is another wedding going on at the same time and date as ours on the same floor. The rooms are obviously sectioned off a bit but there can't help but be overlap into our area. We go and talk to the manager who booked us (who is also the owner) and he explains how it will all work and how they keep the parties separate. Well I had asked this guy about this very situation when we first met him and he said the most they would have is a 15-20 person dinner in one corner of the floor and nothing else. So now I am really pissed because this guy misled us so we would sign on with them. But the worst part was seeing my girl's eye's well up in tears and her face, which never has anything but smiles and joy, pale and form into a semblance of sadness, something that I have seen maybe 3 times in 2+ years of our relationship! I wanted to choke this fucking scumbag! We are trying to set up a meeting with him but not sure what can come of it. It's probably too late to get another site and we gave a $3500 non-refundable deposit. Fuck!!!! I may end up in jail for assault and battery after this meeting!! That's it!! Just needed to vent!! Fuck!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

My fiancee has gone off with her new hobby, making tiarras/crowns whatever. Every freakin day we have a new shipment of some types of beads/rhinestones and the like delivered from some auction that she won at ebay. Seems large selection and good prices. Please go and win some auctions so she stops stockpiling!!!

I appreciate your post and the warning and have no doubt that these pills are dangerous, but... please do not perpetuate the heroin/cocaine in e myth. We all get upset when the press misrepresents the scene, affects of drugs, etc. But then we post it on the board. NO PILLS have EVER been found to contain cocaine (it is not economically intelligent to put coke in e) or heroin (it is not orally active). Many pills that have caused deaths recently are in fact PMA. As I understand it, PMA is easier and cheaper to synth than mdma and causes body temp to rise dramatically causing the death. Again, the warning and sentiment is appreciated and will probably help people but lets not perpetuate myths and spread mis-information. Sorry if this offends as that is not my intent.

I grew up out there and still have friends there so I am a frequent weekend warrior out east. CPI is huge and great for the druggie/freaky anything goes experience. A lot of juiced up guys in wife beaters looking to fight so the vibe can be a little rough. The Tavern is a lot of fun, expensive even for the Hamptons but I felt like I was rolling when I didn't even drop. Great light and sound system albeit a small dancefloor but there is a room behind the main floor that is fun too. Lots of people willing to give free light shows... Neptunes is great during the day. Be careful taking 5htp on an empty stomach. I agree with the suggestion of between meals. I took it first thing in the morning with some OJ and then got the cold sweats and almost passed out on the bus on my way to work. Happened on 2 different occasions (had to trst my theory) so just be careful. May be better to take an hour or so after you eat b'fast. However this and Vitamin C have staved (is that a word?) off 'e'pression on more than one occassion, i.e. helped to more quickly replenish my seratonin!

How big is Octagon and what kind of crowd usually goes? I know it's hard to compare clubs but is it closer to a Centr-Fly type, Twilo or Exit? Thanks.

Run DMC has a new album coming out in lateFeb I think. The do different tracks with Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Sugar Ray, Prodigy,Everlast and Thrid Eye Blind. I heard previews and the tracks are awesome!
