Very True. SF was NOT overrated you def got your money's worth most of the time you went. Clubs like Limelight, Palladium, Tunnel, and Twilo were all unique in their own way and SF also had a uniqueness to it unlike no other!! I'm ok with the fact that SF NO longer exists and ok with the new parties and clubs that have emerged as the new hot spots. I just can't sit here though and deny the fact that SF was NO big deal because it was one of the hottest clubs as we all now during it's existence and long run (6-8 yrs)!

I agree with this too. I also think that a majority of people that don't go out often but occasionally go out here and there are the one's who stereotype people that listen to edm as "total junkies". Even though it seems like the majority of people that go out to clubs use drugs, NOT everyone does!! I don't use drugs, but it seems like that stigma is hard to get rid of if you're a house head. Just because you go out to a club does NOT mean you have to use drugs!! You can consume alcohol or choose to be sober. Maybe drink Red bulls? To each his or her own. Those same people that criticize label house heads as "druggies" also label people that listen to Hip Hop as "thugs or hood rats". Do they have a point sure they do, but there also people that listen to Hip Hop that are pretty chill, not always the case though. Hip Hop has changed too, I like old school Hip Hop more than today's, but the substance of today's Hip Hop is not really that inspiring!! To some it is, but to most it isn't!! Most teenager's are Hip Hop's biggest audience, some really like Hip Hop and others are just followers and like it because everyone else does too. I'm househead, but have Hip Hop roots and like old school Hip Hop. I think that if you're a house head these days you're in the minority, but there are a ton in these forums and house does promote unity more than I would say Hip Hop does. Again this is my $.02 on this issue!!

This was a Thurs night? I haven't been to WH in a couple of years and it's been because there are a ton of other places to go that are much better than WH. To many or some it may be "atrocious", but to me it just ok or very mediocre. The last time I went it was packed on a Fri night and they did play a ton EDM. The crowd was very diverse and I guess some people did stink, but that happens everywhere because when people dance people sweat. They just have to wear deoderant more often!! The bottom line is that if they promote the night and say there's going to be edm played then there should be edm!! Not all Hip Hop!! Plus the people that work there should treat whatever crowd that goes there with respect, being that there is not much of crowd at WH to begin with!!

I was thinking of going to the Hamptons for MDW, but since it's supposed to rain all weekend it makes no sense to go!! It doesn't make sense to go out there when it will be pouring all weekend long!! Mother Nature is such a whore!!

So I guess there's not much going on in NYC this MDW? That's what it seems to look like more and more.

I've met one person from these boards and he's pretty chill. I wouldn't mind meeting up w/more heads from CP, but this weekend could be a bad weekend because of it being MDW. Most people already have plans to do something else or could be traveling to go elsewhere. If people make suggestions on where to go I'll make my decision based on who's playing where and when. It's about the music, venue, and type of crowd for me. The more suggestions the easier choice!! Maybe in a couple of weeks people should meet up?

There are probably cobwebs throughout the former SF space, but I don't think they should renovate it completely!! If it's renovated they will do it with the intent of erasing the memory of SF!! The new owners want to put their own personal touch towards the new space and should renovate it in order to improve the look of the club. If they renovate it and looks worse than it did before than renovating it would have been a waste!! The new ownership is probably taking time to establish itself and therefore it's been taking a long time to get things done!! Just my take!!

So Morillo will NOT be the resident at the space formely known as SF? I just want some answers that's all. What's the 411 on this?

Caught the 7:15 last night and thought that this movie was definitely the best one out of all the newer episodes!! There was more violence and little more juice to it than the others!!

I was supposed to go to Vegas to go to a friend's wedding, but I can't now because of a personal issue!! So Pissed and disappointed!! I've never been there and really wanted to check it out. For Memorial Day, I'd recommend Vegas over Miami, because for those who don't know Memorial day weekend falls on hip hop week down there!! Miami is taken hostage by a bunch of thug rats from the South!! There are only a couple of clubs there that play EDM that week too!! The crowd is more ghetto than the crowd from the WMC!! So if you don't want to get caught up in this fiasco, I'd recommend changing travel plans for Memorial Day weekend and stay clear of Miami!!

Isn't Morillo supposed to be the new resident where SF used to be? Or have those plans changed?

Me too. I haven't heard Boris in a while, but from his past sets that I've heard his either hit or miss!! He either is really good or is too repetitive, not much in between!! I was going to go that night, but decided to pass at the last minute. There are times that I think his sets on KTU are better than his live sets. Overall though it sounds like it was a pretty good night. Most of the time when you go out to any club there are usually more men than women. That's just the way it is. Hopefully the next time I go to Crobar there will be more women than man like there usually is. I'll give Boris a chance again and probably check him out to see what all this hype about him is now. When's the next time he playing at Crobar?

Anyone else check out David Morales? Would like to hear what others thought.

I haven't been to Spirit since JP played at the Halloween party... that was a while back. Anways from what I hear most people still have an issue with Spirit. I have NO problem with Spirit because I too like a dark club like SF was. The intimacy factor of a dark club is what I like. I think the problem that most have with Spirit is the crowd and the overall age of the crowd. I went to Crobar last week and the crowd was def a "good looking" crowd and the age was definitely a little older. It's a just tad bit light for me, but it's still a good size dance floor. I'm pretty sure there were some good looking asian girls in those groups of asians mentioned that night as well as plenty of other bangin girls inside Spirit. My question is why hasn't there been more reviews of the bangin girls that were there that night? What people are complaining about are the same petty things that everyone here goes through when a club is crowded. We've all been there. So does anyone anything valid to complain about that has NOT already been mentioned?

I know this thread is a week old, but I did go to see Morales at Crobar that night so I might as well add my $.02 cents. This is the first time that I heard him play live so it's slightly different than how he plays on KTU. From what I've heard you either like Morales or you don't. It's like having an "acquired" taste for something. I get to Crobar and it's a pretty good size line outside. I got there around 2:30 w/ my boys and stayed till about 8:30 am. It was a good size crowd and there were tons of good looking girls inside. Ran into a cutie I knew back in the day. Anyways back to Morales, I thought his set was pretty good. He played a lot disco house or house with a lot of soul to it. A lot were his own tracks and he threw in some old school tracks too. I don't know if Morales is better now than he was years ago? But I would definitely would check him out again. Overall it was a pretty damn good night!!

I have the Annual '05. I like it. Why is the Clubber's Guide '05 that much better? Also have you listened to that David Morales cd I mentioned at the beginning?

Went to an FYE today and saw cd that was mixed by David Morales. The color of the box was a teal color and the title of the cd said something like the "Best of both worlds" or something like that. It had like 7-8 tracks on it, but since I couldn't listen to it I didn't buy it. I was just wondering if anyone has it and if it is worth buying? Another cd I just purchased was the newest Ministry of Sound CD. I haven't listened to all of it, but I liked many of the tracks thus far. If you have this cd please feel free and give your review of it.

Why has this topic been brought up in here? I usually come here to talk about edm and to find out what's going on with scene NOT talk about such sick perversions!! I come here to chill, but if you want my opinion on this I'll give it to you: If you even fantasize about such things you should consider seeing a shrink because you got serious problems!! You have to be sick to like this!! Child pornography destroys lives and it's just repulsive!! Anyone who gets convicted on such charges or permanently ruins somone's life because of this should be locked up for a long time!! Repeat offenders obviously will repeat so why give them the option of parole? What type of judicial system is this? You had Martha Stewart go to jail for several months while OJ viciously killed two people and is off playing celebrity golf somewhere as we speak. If a sex offender gets a another chance at enjoying life than our judicial system is really flawed and needs to be revamped!!

Sounds to me like a must have!! I'll probably end up getting this. Where will they be selling this? At any store? Did the "Paradise Garage" create the first afterhours scene in the city? Another documentary I would recommend is one on the SF. You can only get it from another poster on these boards.
