  1. I guess NOT good? What does that drink consist of?
  2. When I go out what I usually drink is either a: 1) Red Death drink 2) Absolut or Grey Goose w/ Cranberry juice 3) LIT's Shots 1) Parrot bay Cocunut Rum Shots What is an Incredible Hulk?
  3. I don't know where Dream is, but you have to do what you have to do in order to keep the peace. It's terrible that at some clubs people do check people, but not thoroughly enough on a consistent basis like they should. If violence keeps occurring at clubs, they will eventually come up w/using detectors as an alternative. Which shouldn't be the case, but it may come down to that. I don't think many will go for that stripping nakid policy of your's but, it might work on some people. Why must it come down to this though? People should be able to have a good time on their own w/o having to worry about things like this. It should never have to come down to using metal detectors though!! If it does then people will have failed using the system we implemented before us w/ people checking ids and patting people down. Why some people can't go out and have a good time w/o fighting is beyond me!!
  4. I really haven't figured out why there has been a recent trend of violence in the nyc club scene lately? I mean when I heard about some of these stabbings at Ikon on NYE, I couldn't believe it. I mean I wasn't totally shocked, but c'mon it's NYE!! Can't people squash whatever beef they had w/ someone for a day or two? Most people that fight at night clubs, lounges, or after hours clubs are just hot heads w/ NO common sense. They never think before they act or care about the consequences of there actions. They are just a bunch of ignorant and thug-like degenerates. They are just so caught up in the heat of the moment and feel that they need to have the respect of a total stranger. You go out to have a good time and hang out w/your friends or to listen and enjoy the sounds of edm or hip hop by a particular dj. Some go out to meet new people or get there grooves on. The only way you should maybe fight w/ someone is if say someone hits you for no reason or say you argue w/ someone and they hit you first. You are only defending yourself in both instances. If you decide to attack someone in a posse than I too would call you a wuss. It takes a lot of guts to attack someone w/ all your boys present!! A real man would handle his problems 1 on 1 w/o his friends around to resolve the dispute. Other than that though you shouldn't get into a fight w/someone under any circumstances. You have to try to resolve any issue amicably if possible, rather than resort to violence every time. Sometimes you might have to walk away from a fight here and there. Easier said than done though. Back in they day at SF, there were swarms of people in the club and at the theme parties and I never saw stabbings there. Sometimes there were fights, but most of the time people were enjoying themselves. The fights never got out of control there either. Last year on NYE at JP afterhours party at Ikon/Exit there were some shady looking people there, but I didn't witness a fight the entire time I was there. Even if you go to an upscale lounge, I don't think you can totally elude a fight from occuring there. Wherever alcohol is present a fight can break out at anytime. We all know that each person acts differently under the influence. You have to watch out for the violent drunks that's all. At hip hop clubs I tend to notice people like to brawl. Again it's probably because of the clientel that goes there: mainly ghetto thugs who are mad high. Now this stabbing happened at Ikon and it wasn't a hip hop night. So that tells you that violence can break out anywhere and at anytime. I hope they continue to keep a strict policy at all the afterhours hours clubs in the city. I don't mind being searched and I'm sure most can comply. I want more clubs to check people for weapons, instead of just checking ids. It's the only method that can deter the type of people that could care less about you having a good time that night (who ruin the scene for all of us) and could keep those degenerates from coming back. I'd rather be safe in a club than be caught in the middle of some brawl I didn't initiate or have anything to do with!! If this is what it takes to ensure my safety at a club, than I'm all for it!!
  5. I was enjoying the beginning of summer down in South America w/family. I went to Peru. The climate is ideal (sunny and no rain) and there are tons of beautiful Peruvian women. For NYE, I didn't have that much fun because I went to a formal/ballroom type party and I only knew the people who I came with and they played way too much salsa. I got hammered. I wanted to hear some edm or any mix of another type music and that didn't happen for me. Overall though (except for nye) I'd say the trip was a success and I'd recommend anyone who is interested in going to go. There are big clubs down there, but they are not in the cities more around private beaches in the south. That's where people go in the summer time there. I could compare it to like the Hamptons here. It's away from everything.
  6. This is a very interesting topic!! I too have noticed it a lot when I have gone out and I don't have a real explanation for it. I don't think it's done on purpose. I don't know which is more popular these days the Guido shuffle or the Asian "swing dance"? An explanation for this head shake could be just the extreme amounts of x consumed. While other people sit it out or annoy other people while on x, asians like to mimic a bobble head I guess? You can definetely tell no matter what race when someone's really rolling hard. All I know for sure is that some asians when drinking a lot tend to turn cherry red and swell up like a porcupine. I've noticed it amongst my friends. Liz I can't believe you lied to your mom.
  7. Since I'm away on vacation right now, I 'm here to give a x-mas shout out to all the fellow Cp'ers that I know like Urbanstylz, Chinadoll, ummedunno and others!! Have merry x-mas and happy new years!! I'll be in touch w/ya's lata!! cya
  8. Is this Atlantic Ave in Stamford? Or Atlantic St. in NYC?
  9. Yeah the dancers, who work at Mor and the girls that go there are blazin in my book ... So Grand is nice, that's good. May check it out sometime. How about that club or lounge right next door to Grand down the street? Is that place any good? It looks really upscale.
  10. First off at what club or bar is this event going down? In Stamford I like Club Mor and Terrace Club is good on Sats (Latino night). Thirsty Turtle is ok. Anyone been to Grand? Is that lounge any good? What's the name of that upscale venue at the end of the street where Grand is? I think that's the new hot spot?
  11. If I was going to be around for nye I probably would of headed to see JP at Spirit or perhaps I'd try out Ikon and PVD (even though I'm not a huge fan of Trance). Instead I'll be down in South America enjoying the weather w/ family and friends. Can't wait!!
  12. LOL. ..saw that episode. Most of the guys freaked out , right after she said that she was a guy. Can you blame them? Only one guy won the money I think? She kept coming on to them too...it was great!! It's all fun and games until it happens to you.
  13. So do these two sites have the most dance ringtones? Are there others? Are they compatible w/ Verizon too? I'll be upgrading my phone soon that's why I ask.
  14. Trannies have always existed in the NYC club scene. I don't know exactly when they came about, but they have been here awhile. At clubs they always make their presence known and come alive. There are some that you can tell right away are Trannies and then there are others that you say "man she's dope" and then you look closer and realize "something's up and not right here". Most are tall, but some aren't. I don't mind them as long as they don't bother me. I'm not surprised to hear that many are escorts either. I just can't believe so many guys fall for them? I mean are some guys that desperate? The ones that are messed up and hook up w/ these things are in for a rude awakening. All I need to remember is the scene from the "Crying Game"... that should put it into perpsective... Not cool!!
  15. I'm kind of upset that I never went to either Limelight, Palladium or Tunnel back in the day. Each of the parties at those clubs were legendary from what I've heard. The promoters, the people, the time.. . it will never be the same. Those parties at those clubs paved the way for the parties and clubs of today. Each of those promoters created the blueprints that were necessary to make the parties at these clubs successful. I don't think any of the clubs now will duplicate the same success these clubs had. My question is which of these parties in your opinion was the best and why? Describe the crowd, club, as well as the year it occurred in.
  16. Each club has it's moments. Some people prefer the quality of djs that Crobar brings in week after week over JP at Spirit and vice versa. Some prefer Crobar's crowd over Spirit's crowd and vice versa. I guess it all comes down to where you have the best times or most pleasureable experiences at? If you enjoy your surroundings why bother going elsewhere right? There's drama everywhere you go in the city, why would it be any different in clubs there? You just got to leave those drama queens alone or move away from them that's all. If no one gives them attention how will they start drama? I agree w/ Oldtimer in that Spirit does allow you to be yourself more and it's good to not always have to dress up everytime you go out. I too like JP, but I will check out Crobar soon to see if it could change my views on it. In the end this is like a popularity contest w/ no real winners here... just people w/ a lot of passion for these parties. Monichinadoll nice sig ... Octopussy brings back a lot of memories!
  17. Good point. If I compare the crowds at both clubs though, I'd give a slight edge to Crobar. The reason it's a slight edge is because to me the people at Spirit seem to be cooler and friendlier, but the people at Crobar are better looking. Beauty isn't always measured by what's on the outside, but also what's on the inside too. Not every girl at Spirit looks like a bulldog either. Stop crying about the walk...It's not that bad!! Labor intensive? Is the walk going to kill you or something? I'd think it would be better for you than smoking. Inconvenience and smoking :smoke:go hand in hand!!

  19. Couldn't of said any better in regards to being in good company whenever you go out. It's just not where you go, but whom your with that can make or break your night. If you're w/ the right people you will have a much better time than going solo or with an annoying friend who's going to be complaining all night. I'll def check out Crobar on a Fri night, but it will be down the road. Got a ton of school work now. Pumpadabeatz...maybe I'll cya there?
  20. The music you choose to listen to at club is based on your own personal preference in either edm or hip hop. A lot has to do with the mood you're in also. I'm always in the mood though to check out JP !! I don't think he's a god, but I still enjoy his sets. His music gets me going most of the time!! Now Spirit itself isn't all that; the dancefloor isn't that big, a new sound system is on the way, and the crowd is rather young. Regardless of these inconveniences though, I can still tolerate going out to Spirit on sats. Guidos will be Guidos, and junkies will be junkies!! This goes for any club or venue throughout the city. I think the crowd is very friendly and I don't understand why people think all the girls in here are ugly? Because I've seen a plethora of hotties everytime I've gone. Now the only time I went to Crobar was to see Deep Dish this summer. It was a main event night. Based on that experience I realized the following; the club itself was bigger and a bit more upscale than Spirit, the girls were very hot, the dancefloor had some size to it, and the sound system rocked!! They also bring in great djs for the most part. There was a lot of confusion at the door though. The only thing I didn't like about the crowd is that they came off like a bunch of posers. My friend who came w/me thought the same and he's mad cool. Maybe it was just that night? Everyone says the crowd at Crobar is pretty friendly, on that night it wasn't though. People acted very arrogant for no particular reason. Should I give it another chance though? I guess I might have to? It's the only way to truely find out if Crobar matches the hype it creates. I still think JP is better than Boris. Which nights are better there fridays or Sats?
  21. Besides the assinine behavior of some, was TGE at WH a success? How was the crowd and women? What time did it close? Did these assclowns get arrested or just thrown out? It seems like these pathetic low lives wanted to get attention anyway possible?
  22. I was considering checking this night out, but after hearing some of these reviews I'm kind of glad I didn't go. I've seen Oakenfold like 3 or 4 times in Bastan (at Avalon and Axis) and each time he gave it his all. I wasn't a big fan of his at the time, but respected his approach and effort he put into his sets. The last time I saw him was in 2000 or 2001. I'm surprised to hear that he only played for two hours? I guess that's how long he plays now? Again I haven't heard him play of late, but it seems like he's more into producing movie soundtracks than djing these days. You can't totally blame him though because if Hollywood was calling wouldn't you be listening too? It's all about making a ton of money quickly and Oakenfold's used to getting paid. If he only plays for two hours though, then I probably won't pay to see him again. Is he playing on NYE ? If so it maybe another ripoff in the making?

  24. My type of music style, but not my type of price!! I guess it's really not that bad if you think about it, but then again it's Tenaglia and Lawler. I like Tenaglia, but whose really better? I guess it's all preference?
  25. I wanted to go initially, but I don't think I could make it down now. I have heard a lot about Lawler, but I too don't know his style? I thought he was a techno dj? What time does this party go to anyways? It's $50 at the door right? I hope I can make it, but there's a good chance I won't.
