  1. I'd agree this theme is def getting "played out"!! Either they come up w/something new or they stick w/Jp's regular sets. They will probably bring back the underwear or S & M party soon as well. These tracks always bring back good memories. I might go even though it's going to be like my 100th classics party I've attended!!
  2. I haven't been there in awhile, but I would agree too. The girls there are very tasty!!
  3. I would of but had things to do. One of these days perhaps. Silver Bull, you never sleep and if you do it would be at a club. Does Tenaglia spin anywhere these days? If not, will he be playing at another event some time soon?
  4. This sounds like a happening event. I know DT is sick but what exactly does Howells play? I have never heard him spin before that's why I ask. Is his style different than DT's? ANy info would be helpful.
  5. Figured, false advertising at it's best!! Guess that settles that.
  6. There is NO way Sats at Spirit will change to include the 18 + crowd!! Unless they give a doorman some flow, the 18 + crowd will be left out. I don't think all of the 18+ crowd is immature, but a majority are though. I don't think an 18+ crowd will be good for JP's nights. Unless the night is pretty slow for weeks. It doesn't seem to be the case though. I think most of the 18+ crowd (if they were allowed to particpate) would be in the hip hop room rather than the main floor.
  7. The only place in CT that JP played at that I know of was at Club Mor in Stamford. It was back in Nov or December of last year. If he goes to Alchemy it should be packed, but then again Alchemy caters to a hip hop/college type crowd as previously mentioned. It's going to be a mixed crowd, I guess it always is though. If this is going to happen I would like to know how much it would cost? It will be a special event for Alchemy. It will be overpriced and many will pay regardless. I know JP will NOT play his best set, he never does away from NYC. I think JP should continue playing at Spirit that weekend because it's been pretty good thus far. Why mess w/ a good thing? Doesn't JP usually head for the Hamptons for Labor day weekend?
  8. LOL!!! I agree. I wonder what JP would think? I doubt he cares. JP is a good dj, but he doesn't need this over exposure, it just would feed his ego some more.
  9. I'm glad to hear that Spirit is still going strong!! I've been there twice this summer and I've had nothing but good times there. The women are smokin and JP lately has brought the element of surprise to his sets once again. It's never going to duplicate SF's success, but if you have not checked it out yet then what are you waiting for? Come down to Spirit!! It will not disappoint!!
  10. SB, the video doesn't even mention Club54. Was it because no real significant dj played there? I know all they played in 54 was Disco. I didn't see the entire video yet but, was this a special on NBC back in the day? Also who do you refer to as "Maestro"? Do you think you can get these books in a library? Or just in the book stores? Lawrence is a dj right? Cheren too?
  11. Hey Silverbull , so far I've liked the documentary if that's what you would call it. All this stuff was way b4 my time. I like learning about the orgins of dance music. Anyways can you purchase this movie and if so where?
  12. Ummedunno... Where you at girl? It's been a real long time since you have posted. Did you fall off the face of the earth or something? Your charisma and sense of humor are missed. Drop me a line sometime. Do you IM anymore?
  13. Did anyone else attend that night? How has it been since? Any info would be appreciated.
  14. I know that this thread is a little old, but who cares. I just had to give my opinion of that night because I attended as well. I have been busy all week so I haven't had time to post. First off I will start w/ the admittance fee. I put myself on the CP list thinking that they would honor their word. I guess it was supposed be $20 if you arrived early? Well I arrived early and put myself and my friends on the list and I we ended up paying $25/each. Now I know people are going to say well it's only 5 more dollars so just pay up. Well I did. What upsets me though is the false advertising aspect. If something is stated a certain price for the reduced amount then it should be the same price when you pay at the door!! I think the staff at Spirit may have had something to do with charging a little more. I don't know who's fault it was, but I certainly didn't appreciate it. CP shouldn't say the reduced price is $20 when it's not. Well getting back to the night I thought it was a good time. Not great, but good. This was my first time at Spirit. There is always tons of guidos at JP's nights so that didn't surprise me one bit. JP's set was pretty diverse. A lot of the tracks he played early on in the night I didn't recognize. As the night went on I did and the music got better too. Spirit reminded me a little of SF because it's really dark inside but that's about it. There's no balcony though like there was at SF, it's hard to top an original. SF was that. I saw some familar faces who used to go to SF. There was also some people that I had never seen too. There were too many circles for my taste. A lot of beautiful women also filled the club. I met up w/Agentplayez. He was pretty cool and ejoyed listening to JP!! I may go again when the time is right. Not a bad debut if you ask me.

  16. LOL!! This club really needs an identity. It's like they can't get it right again. Someone has got to do something good w/ it. Will DJ Cleveland be spinning there tonight?

  18. Read these boards man!! You got the grand opening of Ikon (Exit/Black). I don't know what there trying to do w/ that club. Plus you have Boris at Crobar. There are other parties too!! I'll be checking out Spirit tonight I think. Will Ikon or Crobar be better? Who knows? I'll be wherever the parties at!!
  19. It's a great point that Shaegodiva brings up. Alcoholics also are clowns when they get drunk. They start a ton of problems. They shouldn't go around saying that people use drugs are the problem when alcoholics also are huge part of the problem as well. I have some friends who act assinine after some drinks and trust me it's NOT cool when you have to babysit him all the time!! As for Biscuit 60 what do you have a frat house in the Hamptons? Or is it just your boy's summerhouse?
  20. Drinking or doing drugs is up to the individual. I don't recommend doing drugs, but if people experiment w/ them I suggest using moderation. The same goes w/ alchohol. Moderation is the key in having good time versus a bad one!! People still haven't learned yet though!!
  21. I don't here anyone complaining about the "drugged out" asian crowd being there so I guess they didn't have an impact this time around? If you are a CP member there is a list there right? How much would it cost? The reason I ask is because I may attend this weekend. Does Paris work the door there too? Dress code? How was JP's set music wise?
  22. I prefer music clubs myself but, I don't mind going to party clubs because some of my friends are not as into the music as I am. Webster's Hall is def NOT a music club, but it's still fun if you ask me from time to time!!
  23. Summer, Summer, Summer time , time to sit back and unwind!!! That Will Smith song always gets me in the mood for the summer!! Too bad the beaches are pretty weak up here in the northeast!!
