  1. what does its being in white plains have to do with it?
  2. i don't even believe in fashionably late for parties, either. when i go out to clubs, i like to get there early, 'cause i get to be a vibesetter . (well not really ) but i do like to find my spot in the place, 'cause, when it's mostly empty i can get the best one, and then i get to watch everyone filter in. plus, i don't miss any potentially good music. you latecomers never know what you're missing .
  3. i really hope gmc saw this!!! i was the ass who was in the kitchen and missed half of this super funny-ass smurf cartoon version of the anna nicole smith show. as soon as i heard the "saturday tv funhouse" theme song (for people who don't watch saturday night live, sometimes there are cartoons called "saturday tv funhouse," and they're generally things i don't enjoy. "the ambiguously gay duo" and "the x-presidents" may ring bells to some people who don't remember what i'm talking about.) i went to the kitchen to make up some din-din, and, when i returned to the living room, it was half-over. as y'all know, there's a smurf for practically everything, so they covered everyone in her life, even having vanity smurf as bobby trendy, her decorator. and after SNL, i was fortunate enough to turn to e! and find two episodes of anna, back-to-back. i don't find her show as sad as i used to; she's been sticking up for herself a lot lately when people make fun of her - i.e. walking out on a radio interview - and she hosted a really fun afternoon for underpriveldged kids at her house, where they painted, swam, had a barbeque, and more. "do you guys want some red bull? it's an energy drink. it gets you high." now she's rockin', in my book . do yo' thang, girl!
  4. knowing and using your own "reset buttons" (figuratively speaking), whether they be taking a walk, going out dancing, or just taking a hot bath, is key to getting back in balance when you start to feel as though you're losing control. tune in tomorrow.
  5. sorry for the late "wisdom of the day"; i really hate being late. since i spent all of yesterday running around getting ready for and then celebrating my friend's birthday, i think this day's wisdom should be the words of wisdom he laid out for me: "don't eat too much before you go out drinking, because then you'll just be wasting your money on more booze." tune in tomorrow, when i'll have to come up with something myself...
  6. mixing, huh? cut the midrange, drop the bass bring the beat back take me to the melody...
  7. showing up early for work, business meetings, or even just meeting someone casually can show that you really care (or make it look like you do ( ). doing a little more than what's required can be greatly appreciated. tune in tomorrow .
  8. awww, what would i do without you guys ?
  9. i regrettably cannot access the appropriate smiley at the time... but ya follow anyway, right, vic ?
  10. well, there are a lot of generalizations out there that are silly and untrue, although it's also true that some must've come from somewhere. ok, white people can dance - that is, some of us . a lot of pinkish cpers have been known to cut a rug very nicely . and blondes don't all have more fun - i've known a few to be rather sad . anyway, i kid. but here's one i never got: what's up with cops liking donuts? i don't know if i've ever seen a cop eating a donut. while it's true that i don't exactly frequent donut shops, i don't see them eating them in their cars or while walking around or anything... can anyone answer me on that one? and does anyone else have some other stereotypes that don't make any sense?

i'd also like to do the jetsons.
  12. i missed yesterday - sorry ! well, you're down to 609. keep on rockin' .
  13. i need a new job !!! i get paid shit for doing very unchallenging work (retail), but it's tiring nonetheless. it's ridiculous to still be working at this dead-end job; i should be getting paid to do what i'm good at and love (shouldn't we all?). well, i'd settle for enjoy. all the money i've saved is running out, so i'd better get a new job soon, and preferably someplace where i can wear whatever footwear i please (within reason) and not have to be standing 90% of the day.
  14. thanks, lalate . i went to school with brian from moontribe. he was spinning back then, too, and is a very nice guy.
  15. can't find the site from that link .
  16. it's never too late to at least try to right a wrong. tune in tomorrow.
  17. i was asking if the cough syrup was lame, like i had previously thought, not agreeing. but i know that some legal things are powerful, don't assume that i don't. my doctor prescribed ambien to me, and that shit always makes me hallucinate, unless i make a very, very strong effort to fall asleep right away - which is very difficult. if i stay up for an extra 10 minutes past that, i start seeing shit, and it's not fun in the least. i've also tripped off of it a couple of times, and even sleepwalked (woke up in the bathroom, once). and this is all from only taking one 10mg pill. i'm just very unfortunate to be an insomniac. there's another way to address my sleeping problem, though, and i need to have a little chat with my doctor... anyway, my point is that ambien is some powerful and sometimes scary-ass shit. i assume it can't have this effect on everyone, or it wouldn't be legal. but it is out there, and the ads for it on tv feature the cutest little puppies i ever did see.

i wanted to be one of the robert palmer girls: you know, those girls in the back of his videos (like in "addicted to love") . they all look the same, slicked-back hair, ugly black dresses, bright red lipstick, blank looks on their faces... but i'd have to go out with a few other tall girls, and i don't have any tall female friends with whom to hang out on halloween (my female friends are short, but i'm gonna be with guys, anyway) . and if i were just by myself, no one would know who i was supposed to be . in the past, different groups of friends and i have been the scooby doo gang, the characters from the "wizard of oz", and the characters from "alice in wonderland." i'd like to do "winnie the pooh" someday.
  19. finally saw it ... yeah, it looked like part "hand jive", part "time warp". and i couldn't really see the girls 'cause my choices were: a clear image but an inch and a half wide, or a full screen, really, really, bitmapped one . but i did make out the t & a. i think this video may be just as repetitive as "genie in a bottle" - same few scenes recycled again and again.
  20. when we go out to dance, we have expectations of how we think the night will go, and we have requirements of what has to happen along the way. disregarding any particular djs, what does a dj have to do or be during your night out? what do you absolutely require to enjoy the night, to feel a connection with the music? how do you know that the dj has reached you? i mean for this question to be as universal as possible. i don't mean that you'd be happy because the dj is one of your favorites. (although, that could be part of it - what did the dj do to become one of your fave live djs?) i'll answer first, to try to make this sketchy question a little clearer . a dj has to either a) get my arms above my head make me jump up and down c) make my bangs curl, or do all three . this is how my body knows i'm one with it all . and, if a dj doesn't do any of those things, i'm not really into the music - or the night.
