  1. Thanks for the factoids....very helpful well...if it was good enough for Larry...it's certainly good enough for me.....I guess you're trying to insinuate(with your sarcasm) that its out-dated??? lol....not sure how that even becomes out-dated....are you going to pick on confetti and balloons next? and BTW.....I've never read a record ??? one thing is for sure....on this board....if negativity is the soup of the day, you better make an extra batch!!! cause folks cant seem to get enough of it... This thread is about a couple of talented local artists making an impact on the dancefloor with their new remix....Bruno and J Felix's latest tunes are being VERY WELL received at the moment by the Miami faithful...I think thats fucking great!!! and something worthy of some discussion... but.. instead lets do 2 pages of the siren hating game...or hating. www.haterade.com :-\
  2. Larry Levan had a siren at the Paradise Garage. lights dancers fog strobes visuals sirens nitrogen lasers foam horns leds sound systems They are all just effects to enhance the experience for the audience...isnt that what its about? BTW: there was about 10 hours of music that happened as well that night;) Great job on the track guys!
  3. Thanks y'all It was an honor coming from DT.. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
  4. We REALLY appreciate our friends coming through..and look forward to sharing the decks with them! Mondays just got tougher...
  5. wait...of course not!! Thats a long standing CJ tradition....
  6. THANK YOU to everyone who came out!!! We were pretty worried with the weather ...but couldnt believe the great turnout... We had some pretty heavy technical difficulties, which I apologize for...but we will get it right;) CJ is a tough crowd...but we welcome the comments...good or bad Ralph and I have been doing this for a minute...its funny to us how spoiled and unnapreciative local folks can seem at times (on this board)....but in the end...we always end up with this: WE HAVE IT REALLY GOOD IN THIS TOWN I think the fact that people are spoiled here really raises the bar for clubs, promoters and DJs...keeps us on our toes...makes for a more demanding audience and better venues and music.. (I would like to see people get behind local artists more though) that being said.. We love playing here...more than anywhere else in the world! The support we receive here means EVERYTHING to us..and we are extremely grateful for all our friends and fans.. This party is a pet project of ours and we have a lot of cool ideas that we are working to make happen...Its home made and we're trying to make it something we can all be proud of....we hope you guys will join us
  7. THANK YOU to everyone who came out!!! We were pretty worried with the weather ...but couldnt beleive the great turnout... We had some pretty heavy technical difficulties, which I apologize for...but we will get it right;) 8)

Oscar G @ Soundbar, Chicago    Chicago, Illinois is OG a legal alien here in the states???? i've never seen anything out of the states in his schedule.... legal alien? the presidency is an option for me! although my blood runs Cuban...my heart is 100% U-S-A I was born and raised here in MIAMI as for the dates....there are 3 dates on there that are outside the states...but if you mean abroad, I usually do 2-3 small European tours a year and one Asian tour.. My Space resdency makes it tough to get away more than a few times a year for extended periods...(but no complaints here!) The "residency" has become somewhat of a lost art...and I hold it very dear to my corazon...there is no place like home!
  11. HUH?!?!?!: underground? warehouses? byob? Dallas? underground headz? room to dance? mainstream nightlife industry? commercialization? Bling...are you serious?!? if it wasn't for the very things you criticize...you wouldn't even be aware of this scene you claim alliegeance to... When you discovered EDM a few years back...and you were listening to PVD, Armin, Tiesto etc... at Ultra with 20,000 people smashed up against you and you had your hands in the air worshipping while wearing your custom "I love Trance" t-shirt....you had no fucking clue about these things you speak of now..BUT, thanks to that scene, you found this music and this scene.....so why knock it? the way I see it is.... The Tiestos, PVDs, Morillos etc......are a very important part of this...they are the gateway drug...They are an introduction to a culture which at this point is pretty rich with talent... I love this music...and as an artist I want EVERYONE to experience my music...I dont care who they are or how underground they claim to be.. If they are on the floor while Im playing house music...they're cool with me!!
  12. my two cents.... I think you have to consider who is involved in this debate...and the fact that it's on CJ.... For starters...this thread was started by a gentleman who hasn't set foot in a club in ages...he spews out a bunch of nonsense for attention, and frustrated industry folks jump on the opportunity to voice their own gripes...(myself included) Truth is...the scene is fine. I think this is simply a case where "the scene" is passing people by and they just dont realize it...Most of the "regulars" around here have most likely reduced their club outtings significantly...not because the scene is collapsing, but simply because life moves on...priorites change...people grow up, get jobs, partners, kids etc....Its a natural progression... but what you're left with is, a bunch of folks who really dont go out, or represent the average clubber, coming on a message board and discussing theories and reasons why "it is'nt what it used to be" guess what kids....that just makes you OLD! lol You also have your self-serving elitists....who somehow have dissected house music into this segmented, sub-genre, scientific, holier than thou cult....which actually has nothing to do with the original idea behind it AT ALL...using words like GENUINE, UNDERGROUND, REAL, TRUE I even read somehwere on this thread that its a good thing that house music is being "brought back to the small venues where it started..and where it belongs" HUH? so massive venues like The Warehouse, Paradise Garage ,Music Box, Sound Factory (later Twilo), Zanzibar, Red Zone, Pacha (Ibiza), Yellow, Zouk, Stereo, The Hacienda, Ministry...etc etc were just after thoughts?? ummm..no, they are the foundation... There is a reason I choose not to get too caught up in messageboard BS and politics...it simply DOESN'T MATTER....I focus on one thing....dancefloors full of people willing to experience house music.. I'm out on the trenches week in and week out...live and breathe this music...and have since I was a teenager...its a HUGE part of my life (and the only thing I know I can count on) I know Space is the butt of many jokes around here..especially the elitists'....but that will ALWAYS be the case...but...I know I see hundreds of young faces there every week eager to hear new music...Space probably does more volume than any other club in town...and the previlant format is house music.. You have Local Celebrity at Noc (along with guests), Aquabooty, Lust, Mansion bringing in DJs now on a regular basis, people like Loco and Clive showing up at Opium, Pawn Shop brings guests, DT monthly at Twilo along with several other guests, etc etc etc yet we're here whining about the local scene??? and a collapse??? take a look around my friends...the scene is pretty healthy around here! for Pete's sake...Bling is pointing to Dallas as an example of cities that have got it "going on"!!!! are you fucking kidding me?!?!? just ask the Granite & Phunk guys!!! I think we had a huge popularity spike among local DJs and promoters in recent years...Many new cats came on the scene as "house DJsand promoters" because it was THE popular genre in ALL the clubs for a bit (VIP venues included) It oversaturated "the scene" and now there is a cleansing process (there always is...and this isnt the first or last time) Cleansings arent free of casualties...but sometimes its necessary to filter out excess.. Those who remain true haven't a thing to worry about. The music is the basis for all of this..and the music is doing JUST FINE! (Am I the only one old enough to remember a time when the only choice you had in this town to hear House music was Danny T @ Cheers or Padilla @ Warsaw?!? being a straight guy this wasnt the MOST convenient of arrangements! Its funny to me to hear people bitching and moaning now)
  13. selective voluntary moderating?? that is very thoughtful! thanks for keeping CJ safe for all of us 8)
  14. My friends and family from Hialeah are always MORE then welcome at Space....as theyve always been since day one. Several members of our staff and even some of our residents have lived or live in Hialeah.. fuck snobbery! Hey Lurker....I remember you bitching about Miami..and the people here...and how superficial they are.. well.....I guess youve adjusted pretty well...now you're able to pass judgement on entire cities.. oh...BTW Sharam ROCKED it! place was going nuts..club was at capacity.. oh...and I was actually there (unlike the 3 reviews so far;) )

yes...exactly but that rule applies to everyone doesnt it? You do understand that one person's opinion may be offensive to to others...or one may simply disagree with another's opinion.. In any case...EVERYONE has the right to their own opinion...wether it be of a club or another person's post or topic... For example...you took the opportunity in your post to state your opinion...You even went as far as stating it as fact.. Guess what...I disagree and so on and so on and so on

Major and Level... You're both right....but why does it bother you when "Space people" speak their mind...do the rules change? Its all opinion...and EVERYONE has a right to one...right? My sentiments exactly! It seems to me dancefloored is just a concerened clubber who cares about his tunes. Is he not allowed express his opinion : Thats how it is around here, you cant say anything bad about Space or else you'll get trashed by the the people who frequent it week in and week out.
