I guess it depends on the song... I spent a few hours yeaterday going though piles of dusty vinyl. Thought I'd go ahead and post a few of my finds, just in case anybody here shares my passion for old records(yeah and to kill sometime) first off I found Hot Butter-Popcorn a nice groover that I've been looking for for and while and then a 7-inch called Pac-Mans Pinic-by I'm not sure who its one of those listen while you read the book record that runs at 33(I like it when 7's run at 33 don't you) every so often it has a nice long turn the page sound that must of been ripped from the game,primo skrach sound+it has quite a few nice vocal bits to mix in "hi everybody" and "we're going to have a good time" and my fav. "were going on an incredible adventure" of course most of the story is pretty lame...but hey thats what they make headphones for ummm...well thats the best stuff from yesterday...another Dark Side of the Moon (hey P-floyd-land-of-ho's ya ever get a copy of this...if not I could mail ya this one...free...well except for 5 bucks in my pay-pal for shipping,PM me to set it up) ummm....what else...oh yeah the little ophan annie sound track...now I can pretend I'm on MTV and drop in the hard knocks of life thats the picks from yesterday...I still got a mininute or two...time before that I dug up a copy of Kung-Foo-Fighting/Gamblin Man 45,nice funk to skrach on Kung-Foo-Fight"everybodies kung foo fighting...HUN...those cats were fast as lighting..HA..and they fought with expert timing(I like that line) HUN" if anybody has any other good finds tell me about em so I can keep my eyes open for em...ok I'm outta here... later

I'm sorry if I upset you...my opinions are just that...opinions. And since I have opinions(on drugs) I have something to discuss. I had no intention of "bashing" anyone. I really don't know why I dignifed your post (which I found to be quite rude, by the way) with an anwser anyway. In anycase I'm not "so anti-drug" I was just hoping to guide people anyway from the worst drugs. I understand being upset if you are a junkie or something but otherwise I fail to see why you (or anyone else) would have a problem with me putting in my 2 cents. I'm not sure but I think crack is about the same as coke but it doesn't last as long...or something...neither are things you should be doing my dumb friends(the ones who do drugs) told me that k was a cat traquizier that made you trip out. they said it was alot of fun at first but after a while caused damage to their intestines and nasal passages I don't don't drugs my self( although back in the day I used to smoke pot,but then I got a job and ..well you know) but I do take some herbal suppiments(like 5-htp,and no I don't do E I just like the extra seraition as an antidepressant) next up damiana, to cure headaches. So if you get headaches, you know from all those bad drugs ya'll seem to like doing(dummies) try some of this to feel better oh yeah and stay away from that meth and h otherwise your the dumbest of the dumb. Ya'll know you makes h ... same guy that likes to crash planes into buildings. if ya got to waste money on drugs get weed,at least that way your loot goes to mexicans instead. Plus you don't turn into a another fucking junkie...I hate fucking junkies. well just my 2 cent

I have always liked vinyl much more then cds. Vinyl is better in a lot of ways. Although some of that may be that I'm a turntablist and I'm alot better on decks then one cd players. Cds do have some advantages over vinyl, easier to make and cheaper being the main ones. But lets face it vinyl is the best form for the music to be in as for as one the fly remixing goes. Unless you really want to just stand there and let the compter auto sync your bpms for ya. And skratching, how do you skratch a cd. The best I've seen wasn't even close. Although you may not need to skratch for some forms of music(house and trace)(which I like to skratch to anyway). And the cost of records, well who cares its worth it. Granted you could get a self full of cds for less then the cost of a crate and get you own shit recorded alot easier. So I guess that is the main advantage. But remember there plenty of rare grooves that are only found on vinyl. Unless of course you know a good beatdigger who wants to rip it for you. Do you? Another question to ask when deciding if cds are better then vinyl is if you wanna make live music or play a producers tracks. If you want live music go with turntables, if you know a producer and wanna play his shit and he has a cd for you...well go ahead. Alot of the time I like to have cds on hand my self (mostly if I'm the only dj for a night and I want sometime to chill and enjoy things). I dunno I've always spun under the assumtion that all you needed to dj was two turntables and a crate of vinyl. And really all you should have since I always figured that it was best to bring the least equipment possible to gigs. That way if something happens you lose as little as possible. I guess you could just take cd players but if you only have one insterment then it should be decks. Another facter is when you go some where to play what equipment will be set up at the venue meaning you only gotta bring your vinyl(or cds*snicker**sorry*). Back in the day the only thing that was always set up was turntables. And come on it wasn't all that long ago. Seems like its still like that in most places. Another factor might be your market. If your worried about your market I have no respect for you. What! Your market, whats that like a wedding or something. I don't play weddings. (if you play cds thats fine do your thing. Its just the commerical type dj I'm talking about...and guess what his set up is?) I always knew the day was coming when people would find something they liked better then vinyl. One day in the future I think everybody'll move into on the fly production(which would better then cds)...but guess what? I'll still be right here behind the turntables. come on kids vinyl is better. vinyl gets ya laid more. vinyls the real thing. it smells better. its easier to manipulate
