In trying to bring more people out to the nightclubs in NYC many of us in the business have asked these questions. 1. Would more people come out if the price of admission was lower? 2. Because of the economy, the stock market, lay offs and the 11th etc., has money become tighter in a sense that people are more selective as to the night or nights they go out clubbing? 3. Can a nightclub do well without promoters if the price of admission was lowered to a reasonable entrance charge? 4. What would be a reasonable charge if the price of admission was lowered? 5. Has the industry become a runaway train in that every nightclub seems to grab on to the next trend by seeking out these international dj's that charge an absolutely insane fee. This insane fee forces the nightclubs to raise the price of admission where upon the end result is you the customer pays for it. Regardless of the cost to enter, would you still go? 6. Who financially is effected more by high priced admissions...males, females or both? 7. What is a great night out...is it music driven or a social scene or a combination of both?.... If you owned a nightclub, what would you do that perhaps the curent club owners aren't? 8. What does "back to basics" mean to you?

This past Saturday JUNIOR VASQUEZ played early for everyone at EXIT to promote his new CD, "Earth Music." With every paid admission you received a copy of his new CD. What happened was amazing. The early crowd connected with JUNIOR and JUNIOR connected with the early crowd. The vibe was great, the energy was electric and the music was on point. JUNIOR had a blast, as well as everyone who was there. So, as of this coming Saturday JUNIOR will be spinning early as well as for the after-hours party. When we first started this party, we thought we could create a party that was more of a social scene perhaps a little more commercial. In speaking to lainie we agreed to give out over 350 vip cards to cp members. This courtesy was a gesture of good will and to thank the original cp heads that came and supported vicious and hopefully the party itself. The party is now in its fourth month. As the party progressed we had many requests for guest dj's on an international level. We are trying to do that but there' one problem. They cost a lot of money. You have to fly them in sometimes first class and usually its two people, pick them up in a limo from the airport and bring them to the hotel. Later, take them from the hotel to the club and then bring them back to the hotel after the gig. Then, the next day, take them back to the airport. Then comes the promotional costs such as invitations, postage, distribution, radio if its a performance, additional sound requirements and their personal rider. There are times we need some help to cover the costs so that we may bring to you these special events. A $15.00 courtesy fee, being charged to only those people who have this card, we felt was a way to at least cover the additional costs we incurred. In this business sometimes its 4 steps forward and 1 step back. Thats the time when a party gives it back to the people. And sometimes we need help also from the people we look out for. In the so called super clubs left in new york, a courtesy charge of $15.00 for respected dj's of high quality is unheard of. Think about it. Roxy CP card holders, get in for free with no time frame, get in for free at exit on saturday before 1:30am, don't have to wait on line and get a reduced admission to dt's party at vinyl. There will be times in the future, when we will ask you to work with us. Most times, probably not, but when those times do come, just work with us. All of us including the staff, management, promoters, jv, as well as patrons want this party to work and guess what..it is. thanks...BOB

hello helen, sorry that you and your friend had to pay. It was truly a mistake. This is the way the cp roxy card holders get in at exit on saturday. You don't have to go to the guest list girls or the cashiers. Simply go to the person who collects the tickets(his name is ross). He has been instructed by the owner and myself that when anyone with a roxy cp card shows it...there get right in, no questions asked. I know other card holders got in easy. Lainie called me and I fixed the problem. Also card holders don't have to wait on line. The process is very simple. I want the cp roxy card holders to be treated as v.i.p.s. This will all be fixed by next saturday. This is something new for exit to comp guests with the big amount of cp roxy card holders that there are. Exit is all for this. It was probably my fault in not being really clear to lainie in what to do. Could you please give it another try. thanks bob
