These new cards were going to be mailed to you..but it seemed to work out better that when you come to the roxy before 1:30am on friday or on monday evening from 8pm to 10pm see scott and exchange it. Its a simple exchange..these cards have been passed around to people that shouldn't have them..also some cards had been stolen and recently have been showing up..so we are now meeting the people who they should belong to. putting a face to the name if you will...this friday is probably a good time to be there since VICIOUS is playing and daniel woo is opening up as promised

This friday, 1000 cd's will be given away titled " live from the roxy vol 1" mixed by michael rizzo to the first 1000 people. .This cd giveaway is being given away compliments of michael rizzo and the roxy.

I was talking to jeff z, the program director from ktu..he asked me who's spinning..I told him you were. he said to me as he listened.."very good dj" chris from metro mix gave you a nice shout out live on the air when joey clifton handed him the microphone Justin I thought played also extremely well especially after his great night at metro..all in all..thanks to all the dj's for turning it out last night..It was a great night for music..lets do it again in the future

theres a huge no i.d. party at the roxy on sunday, colombus day wekend featuring vicious doing the house sets and funkmaster flex doing the hip hop.

Just called the roxy and asked for the concert stage to be put out especially for the stage crew tonight which according to the boards should be quite a turnout..I was told the stage is already set up for the DMC contest with 12 turntables on it..Those of you that are going to the DMC FINALS are going to see the best dj's in the country compete tonight..immedately following the finals, the turntables will be taken off the stage and johnny vicious goes on...

Most of the women who come there couldn't tell you who george acosta, ferry, armin, sandra, christopher lawerence, nick warren, scott bond and so forth and so forth are, but they can sing all the lyrics to any of ambers, chers, jessica folkers, dee roberts, tina ann, kim sozzi's songs and more (which by the way are either produced or remixed by many of your favorite dj's).A lot of females and even some guys cannot take hard trance for hours and hours at a time..after awhile they would leave and thats bad business. JV understands what this party is for the most part about..he has to try and please as many people as he can..If the roxy started at 4am, believe me, JV would be on fire..non-stop, relentless..you're posts about his performance would be rediculous.The roxy does have a somewhat commercial slant even though rizzo plays tribal and progressive with a little harder set as the night gets later but the music keeps the women coming back and back and thats good business.. Back to JV..the man has talent..is respected and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet..His days at the tunnel were different..I know, I started that party..Take in consideration times are different, clubs are different, the drug scene was a factor..The roxy is trying to get away from the drug scene and be more of a social and bar scene..as someone put it "a cleaner alternative"..and thats also good business especially for todays times

the dmc finals are at the roxy because: 1. its the biggest main floor of any club in ny 2. it has a phazon sound system 3. it has a light show 4. the management & owners are very accomidating 5. it has a stage centrally located in the middle so sight lines are great from wherever you are in the club 6. any other venues such as roseland or the hammerstein ballroom, you have to rent a sound system and light show 7. the dmc has been there before and its worked out perfectly. 8. its a great room...nuff said

you've got to be kidding right..the primary reason for searching is weapons..secondary is drugs...you don't have to be an F15 fighter pilot to figure that out..but what I'm hearing is it's the quality of how you search that makes a difference...thats just one small point about the roxy..we're trying to be more friendly, more courteous, more tolerant and more appreciative of our patrons, It's not because another club does or doesn't practice that policy, but because its the right thing to do..you're in the people business. I always ask myself how I would like to be treated in a club. Thats what we try to bring to the roxy as far as hospitality.. I'm sure there's always a fuck up, but if we know about it..we'll straighten it out..The rest such as music, acts is all subjective anyway..but you try to cater to the majority of what your appealing to.

It's true..it's FREE ADMISSION for 4 before midnight good for everyone, men and women, with either a flyer or printout...however you have to be in the building before midnight or else its reduced admission with the flyer or printout. Please no door drama get there early to guarantee your free admittance before midnight. BEACH BUM TANNING is holding its first customer appreciation beach party for all its members(over 50,000) plus all their employee's will be there..the place is going to be theme'd out. Plus there's going to be a hot body contest with free trips to cancun given out..DEE ROBERT'S will perform "seperate ways" The eye candy for this night is going to be rediculous. Beach attire is welcomed especially for the contest. Bring your camera's..I'm telling you..it's going to be nuts

Remember also..the club is a weekly business regardless of who's the attraction..look at the world..the week of sasha & digweed 4000 people..the next week 172 people..the trap you get caught up in is if you become an event club then you are only as good as the external reason why people came there. the next week your dead. If you can build a foundation, a base of people who come to the club regardless of who's spinning or performing, then when the show is over, the next week you still have a business. "Build a club and they will come" is over. For the most part owners give out each night to different promoters..they have become basically landlords of a space..rooms are no longer sexy..its a numbers game..body counts,.. party's with no soul. We at the roxy recognize the local talent right here in our own backyard..the importance of hospitality, sensuality, an overall fun time..there will be something in the party for everyone..may not be the same as the next guy but its there..You're right about the breakthrough night. four local dj's, four vibes, four guys playing their hearts out..was the feeling any different then if tiesto played..i don't think so, not according to what I saw and felt on that night

You're missing something here. The roxy doesn't pretend to be like the SF in no way shape or form. Never tried to and never will. Opening up in the summer for a NY weekend club is insanity. The global dj's were booked way in advance all over the world before the summer started. So we go to plan B. We as all land clubs do is hope for a bad forcast not neccessarily rain just a forcast to try and deter some people from heading to the shore or hamptons. The reality is this is the shores and hamptons time. What you're experiencing now at the roxy is a maintenence program to get through the summer and prepare for the fall. The KTU live broadcast keeps the name out to over 3 million people and that has a value. The scene right now at the roxy is more of a social, drinking scene, special one off events and good music. Last night some of the top promoters came over from the competion and said "where the fuck did you get this crowd from..the women are beautiful..the guys are very goodlooking..no fights, no drug overdoses of any kind, The security is polite..the management is great..when the summers over and everyone's back..this place will be insane." Moves are being made to bring to you the talent you've been asking for..Until contracts are signed we will not disclose who they are, but you will be very happy. Those of you that post in an articulate intelligent and constructive way, we hear you..your words are not falling on deaf ears believe me..As far as comparisons to other clubs..thats childish. The SF is great for what it is..Just be patient with the roxy..come the fall, you'll have the best of everything..a music scene and a social scene.

There's been so much talk about this song on the boards and everywhere..it seems like it's going to be a great night of music with 3 different styles of music plus who da funk..will we have the pleasure of the roxy stage crew for this one?

about baez and roxy last night...everyone I spoke to said baez did a good job..he opened and closed..beginning to end..there are more knowledgeble people about the music on the board then I am..as far as the crowd..it was a little light reasonably so with that fucking rediculous rain..(a nightclubs worst nightmare).The b&t crowd that comes from L.I. , jersey or the boroughs might have stayed home or stayed local..This afternoon I spoke to quite a few people in the club business who had parties last night..they said their nights sucked..the rain killed them...considering we did about 1100 people it wasn't bad but a lot of the regulars weren't there..also not to mention area2 at jones beach which presold 16,000 tickets..lets face it if you didn't buy an advance ticket would you have gone to an outdoor arena last night with that storm..Next week with WHO DA FUNK's first NY show performing "SHINY DISCO BALLS" everything should be back on track...unless it snows
