  1. You bitches.... I was there, but I didn't see any CPers there..... Quoth - Your fuckin COUSIN was playing! Not out there to support him??? Glowgirl - Adam Beyer for $5??? Couldn't make it out for that??? Cutie, you very well may have been there since I have no clue as to what you look like, so I won't diss you... Considering how many people went to see some of these DJs on Saturday, it's kinda pathetic that nobody was willing to come out to see them cheap in an intimate setting. Anyway, had a good time, and you missed out on the music...
  2. That's pretty much it.... Back in the day, they'd make you affirm a belief in God to ensure you were telling the truth if you were under a certain age or of low mental capacity...the thought was that if you believe in God, then you know something bad will happen to you if you lie... Now it's more symbolic than anything. Even the hardcore judges on the issue (Scalia, Thomas, Rehnquist) say that it's just symbolic speech, and that view has been shared at one time or another by O'Connor, Kennedy, and Stevens. Which is why the Supreme Court (in my opinion) will probably overturn that Pledge of Allegiance case... However, there is somewhat of a coercive matter there. In some states (such as Florida) you have to say "so help me God" at the end. If you refuse to say it, (even though you can refuse), it puts you in a tight spot with the jury and/or the opposing attorney.
  3. As long as my D-Rays keep winning, I don't care 1-0 BABY!!! UNDEFEATED THIS SEASON!!!!
  4. Well poo..... Guess that in order to hear me, you'll just have to show up next time I spin
  5. It's Sunday, but it's fairly early....times are 8:30 - 2am or whenever we decide to stop playing thereafter (place is open till 4, so if you stick around, I'll stick around) The party's name is now official: Detached I'll list set times in the near future....
  6. A, C, E, F, V to W. 4th St., or the 1, 2, 3, 9 to Christopher St. It's on Sullivan Street right by Wash. Sq. Park...
  7. Yeah, and people have stopped patronizing Ol' Sammy's Bin Ladles...
  8. Told you C-USA was gonna make some noise in the tourney this year..... Good + bad so far: Good - I picked Marquette and Syracuse to make the Final 4 Bad - I picked Arizona and Xavier to play in the finals. Doh!
  9. No hip hop, really.... In HS, a lot of Nine Inch Nails helped out (yum, angry music), and in College it was more Jimmy Eat World (yum, depressing music)
  10. In Tokyo, the ventilation is so good that you can smoke everywhere. Literally, someone could be smoking at the table right next to you, and you wouldn't even know it.... Does anyone know how the smoking situation is going to work at Arc??? I'm sure they won't start allowing reentry.....are they going to make the arcade a smoking room, enclose the DJ booth in glass, and shut down the water stand in the back?? As far as I can tell, that (or to make VIP the smoking room) is pretty much the only way to do it....
  11. You need to cut and paste the link into your realplayer...
  12. Starts at 10pm.... Guests confirmed so far are Adam Beyer, Traxx, and Function. Word on the street says Gaetano Parisio may also be there. For sure I'll be there....had to miss Waters St (spinning at the Lep), but I should make it out to this one!
  13. For those who missed it, there was a pretty crazy night... First, I'd like to thank the members of Gradient Descent (Rekall aka TheHacker, Dialectics, and some schmuck who's too cool for the boards ) for coming out and playing a rocking Live PA straight out of my bedroom in my way too packed apartment on Saturday. When I get stuff printed, I'll post a picture of them hijacking my entire bedroom to bang out some beats. I managed to record the set onto my computer, so if any of the Angry Techno Mob is interested in checking them out, PM me or TheHacker and we'll try to figure out a way to get it to you... I also want to thank those who made it out to Leopard Lounge on Saturday night. First off, I wnat to recognize how awesome John Dalagelis was....he really reminded me of Donald Glaude in his fervor, track selection, and mixing style....tons of fun. Then I busted out with the following set (might have forgotten a few, some might be out of order, but here's a general idea): Hybrid - Gravastar Placebo - Passive Aggressive (Hisham's Broken Mix....btw, had a few people looking to figure out what this one was) Evil Nine - Cakehole Filta - Abuse (Chris Lake Breaks Filthy As...Mix) Myagi - Planetary Attack Maurice + Noble - Faith Delivers (Ashtrax Breaks Mix) Dan F - Namonamo 15th Street - Nervous Runaway (Dub) Phuturistix - Feel It Out (Daluq Mix) Darqwan - Said the Spider Deekline et al - Bushpig (Dub) Jason Sparks - Soul Taker Chris Carter - Ladybird The Beginerz - Reckless Girl (Plan B Reckless Beats Mix) Dave London + Filthy Rich - Twisted Silver Storic - Wired Monk + Canatella - Enter the Monk (Hybrid Mix) 37Hz - Big Square Sound (Kraymon Mix) Junior Senior - Move Your Feet (Krafty Kuts Mix...unexpectedly the biggest track of my set) Databass - Try Me For anyone who's interested, the mix should be up on Metromixradio.com sometime in the next couple weeks...
  14. Yeah....it might be a slightly better track without the Kelis vocals. For all everyone pumped about it, it kinda reminds me of an updated version of Dooms Night...that wah sound has been really overused the past few years. Side note on that Essential Mix....I find it really amusing that the Scribble + Reds version of Baby Come On (immediately before Let's Get Ill) is just coming out now, even though Stanton Warriors had it Stanton Sessions about 2 years ago)
  15. An analog, K1 over in Japan, is pretty damn vicious....."The Beast" (former NFL player Bob Sapp) just beats guys senseless until people are bloodied to hell and barely walk. Could be staged, but they actually report the results in the Sports Section over there, which makes me wonder...
  16. Sounds kinda like Dark Beat to me at 1:27....could be the Diddy Daddy song for all I know, that's just what it sounds like....
  17. I've heard how great that track is from a bunch of different people, but just from that sample, sounds pretty cheesy to me. Maybe that's just sampled at a bad point tho...
  18. Thanks for the tips....should be helpful in the future (I wouldn't have thought of the edit mix...)
  19. He looked amazing in that game....he was kinda ho-hum for the first 3/4 of it, but once it got close at the end, he absolutely took control of the game and blew the lead out to 25. May be interesting to see how he does against NBAers, but I think I'm gonna reassess and say he'll average about 18,5,5 his rookie year...
  20. Found it... Krazy feat. Gitt - Roll Em
  21. "I used to be labelmates with Shaquille O'Neal, now I get my dick sucked in the Batmobile..."  I think that was Bottomfeeders tho.... BTW, ever seen the video for that one?? I think I have it somewhere.....some sick shit
  22. She's got a full length on MCA....came out a couple months ago http://www.okayplayer.com/jaguarwright/
  23. Rawkus.... Talib Kweli Hi Tek Kool G Rap Mos Def Pharoah Monch Beatminers Blackstar Big L Smut Peddlers (also used to have El-P and Plastique) I don't know if they'd qualify as a team, but I think they have the strongest lineup of any label. Shame they got bought out by MCA...
  24. Yeah, I'm invading hip hop with a track ID. Just looking for this one (from about 3 or 4 years ago).... The chorus goes to the tune of the Theme from Rawhide, and the lyrics go something like "rollin rollin rollin keep those blunts a-rollin, roll em roll em roll em, smoke out, crack open a 40, so we can all get naughty, roll em roll em roll em, smoke out"... Thanks in advance. I think it might have been a local Florida track, but I'd like to know....
