  1. Tri-County Airport Express. FLL to any hotel $17. They have a website and reservations. You can pay cash at the time or credit card in advance. Look it up... MIA is more expensive to fly into... why waste money on flights & transpo, when you can spend it on clubs & booz?
  2. Oh f yeah baby! And at my hotel too! Going to be nice, wonder if the Rubber Girls will be there... Day 1 is lookin better than Day 2, but I guess it depends on the headliner for day 2... Tall Paul, Lawrence... like to see Glaude though too...
  3. nevermind found it. $17 one way from South Beach Hotel to FLL airport... nice, i think that's cheaper than a cab from SOBE to MIA!
  4. From FLL Airport? I know flights are cheaper into Fort Lauderdale Airport, but are there shuttles or some cheap way to get to South beach? How about a shuttle from FLL to MIA, and then cab it? Any help is much appreciated.
  5. For some strange reason a lot of the places in South beach are really crappy, especially the cheaper ones (100-150/night)... tripadvisor has a lot of reviews on most of the places in south beach, and most are negative but it depends on what you're looking for. A place to crash with minimal ammenities and a few problems is standard for the area. I'm staying at the Shelborne, but its a rented condo/apt... Last year we were at the Beachcomber which wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. I heard Tudor is really bad, and is still available right now. I stayed at the Ramada once (not for the conference) and I shit you not the water came out yellow. From the faucets and shower... gross man...
  6. yeah, I'll be 30 this year, but I gotta late start so I'm probably closer to a 25 year old in terms of partying ability... I prefer to go hard during the nights chill during the day... depending on how I feel I usually don't start up again until about time to go out anyways... don't abuse your body... and by far you'll know when you should and shouldn't, especially during the day...
  7. I'll try to give the most informative advice possible (this might be longer than the others). First, I went last year for the first time and we partied hard all night, and pretty much slept all day. We had nothing for the hangovers except sleep. If you truly want something for the hangovers, there's a new drug out that is over the counter that's called "Chaser". My brother and friends took it over new years in vegas, and it seemed to work for them. As a physician I looked over its contents and it seems to be nothing more than a placebo (sugar pill). However its active ingredients are herbal or western medicine (stuff I don't learn in med school). All I can tell you is that it worked for them. I didn't take it, b/c my headaches only last an hour or so in the am, and are gone. You're supposed to take it before you start drinking, and then a couple more during the night. And when you wake up... bam, no hangovers. As for pacing, just don't get too crazy that you're seeing somebody, take it like every other night b/c keep in mind there are parties during the day, and then later that night. You need to get your sleep though. Either power naps, or just long sleep days. Either one, to be rested and ready to hit it up again. Eating is good, but rest is better in this instance. With the heat, hydrating yourself is important as well. You can check this a couple ways. When you're drunk, if your urine is clear, that's all the water you are losing. When you aren't, if your urine is very dark, it means you have NO water left in you... your body is trying to save every bit of water you have... so drink water! Mo, MD
  8. No no... I understand. Some people need to have shit or problems at the door. And hip hop.... That's why we're all different. Some people like hip hop clubs that are harder to get into (especially if you're a guy and like waiting outside)... and others like dance clubs that go allnight with little or no problems at the door.
  9. Yeah, those clubs with 24 hr liquor licenses and close 2pm the next day can kinda be a drag... (sarcasm) --- WHO NEEDS SLEEP? -Club Space, Miami
  10. oops they bleeped it out... maybe cuz its a rival site? Who knows... just take the first letter of each line and add a dotcom oh my gosh, i have to fill in all these lines! oh gosh, not again. never mind, i'm running out of things to type but its already too late, i'm almost finished unbelieveable how much time I have right now gotta go!
  11. They usually have cards that they give out to find the pics... *******, welovetoparty, are some of them... there are more but i'm drawin a blank.
  12. just wondering, since the admission is 20... i have ICE passes, are those valid? Since the value is the same I figured it won't be a problem...
  13. Crap! With the recent weather, I'm starting to panic a bit. I've never had a "no plan" for new years... Don't want to spend 100 bucks for anything... Maybe Rubber as a default, but at Seven? Not exactly the best venue. Is that lounge in Caesar's doing anything? I haven't found any posting of a specific party but I really liked the vibe there... (the one near the roulette & craps tables). Is there another vegas message board? An underground one? insiders guide... clubplanet is new york based, the other cities aren't represented well enough here.
  14. I know this is a very silly question to ask, but are there any affordable places to hit up for new years? 100 bucks minimum is a bit rough, unless I get lucky at the craps table or something. Especially with a bunch of my friends... I think the plan is to have the party in the suites...but... maybe a street thing? I know its mad chaos, but is there any other option? Lounges?
  15. TRANSLATION: 10 hip hop songs (the usual top 40), five reggae songs, a few 80's, and some mainstream dance... commercialized like a cruise line!
  16. uh... why? Did I open a can of worms?
  17. you know, for new years itself, I'm not sure either! I don't want to over spend to get into some club... vegas is vegas so it doesn't really matter if you're in a club or not... plus they have all the street festivities... and of course the beads I know what I'm doing on saturday night, but as for the 30th and 31st... no clue.
  18. If he's awful why do you waste your time going? That would be like me going to hip-hop clubs over and over and complaining about it everytime... I don't have any sympathy for bad choices. I enjoy his sets, granted he can't mix, and he doesn't usually spin any new tracks... but its still great music. For the most part I've never been disappointed with his set, I can't say that about Sander Kleinenberg or some of the other DJ's.
  19. Well, got there early, and nobody was there... at first I thought nobody would show up. But its oakie which means everybody is there... Todd did suck, my friends wanted to drop, but one of them lost their stuff at the door. I didn't know they started frisking... Even then the wrong music to drop to... Oakie was typical oakie, 2 hrs, and excellent tracks... I think seeing Oakenfold in NY is a rip-off, b/c of the steep price. Only in NY is he $50 bucks at the door. Everywhere else its 25 or less... I don't think he started with Gabriel & Dresden's Above & Beyond... (still tryin to ID what he opened with)... Traffic was definitely in there, and he must've droppped at least 3 tracks from his new Creamfields CD... Including U2-Beautiful Day 2004 remix, Perfect Wave, Stel & Good Newz - Particle? And I told my g/f three days ago, "i bet oakie remixes U2's new song..." and sure enough it was there... I can understand those that don't want to go anymore. My advice is to see him elsewhere... the 2 hours are good. I think the best is at the WMC where he spins from 12-2 or some shit and then is followed by Sandra Collins & Ferry Corsten... more bang for the buck!
  20. Okay... since we all know Oakie is off before he even hits the decks, who finishes up? Liquid Todd is opening right? Someone's finishing up. I almost think Oakie should bring a tagalong DJ to each of his performances... like Sandra Collins or something... to finish what he starts...
  21. If it's Interstate's I FOUND U, I'll be happy. There's gotta be a reason why I'm ALWAYS going to his sets. Drove up to Boston to catch him on 4th of July, now that was one great party... Red-white-blue- confetti in the air... Southern Sun... nice... (okay, really ruining my own rep in the dance scene, but i don't care...that's what this music is all about...euphoria!!!!)
  22. well, i already bought it online... 50 at the door is a LOT! Man, I would think the ppl that bash Oakie would STOP going to his sets... and for that matter the other folks!!! Give me more room to DANCE!!! I wished it wouldn't be so CROWDED... hopefully not the fire-hazard that halloween night was... that was ridiculous.
  23. Stayed at home also... Well saving up for tonight... oakie... These Turkey eve parties get way too expensive... just like New Years... I think I need to just make appearances when the DJ warrants it. AVB @ Spirit seems like an appropriate next "gig"...
