  1. Thanks for the pictures of the women (Seeing the woman in the last picture, one word comes to mind: SKYBAR lol!) LALate carries events for virtually every top promoter in LA. As a result, LALate can get you on the list to most any top venue depending on the night (so for example, we have AD on Thursdays but not on Fridays, or Conga Room on this day but not that day). If you want personal introductions to promoters/hosts, can help you with that too possibly (why, you thinking of moving to LA? lol). So tell us about the Toronto scene? What type of music is popular? The look and style of people currently? How much do those plastic surgeons charge? Thanks. info@lalate.com www.lalate.com
  2. Happy Thanksgiving!
  3. Although never been, heard that afterhours at AD is very good. New is Calibar (small venue in Beverly Hills, list only) that is actually an afterafter hours party (what will they think of next!) that went down believe it was last Saturday (not all the time). Also, check out the Hacienda parties we have listed on the site(Jello, etc.) that go to (believe it's) 6 am (downtown LA). Will definitely keep an eye out for some more because everyone loves a good afterhours or afterafterhours. Hope that helped LALate www.lalate.com
  4. lol. How funny! Actually, was going to say here that don't know about many things on Sunday except Las Palmas or Deep lol. Keep us all informed.
  5. New Years in LA ... Cool! Trevor --- (here comes some shameless plug but helpful hints) .... www.LALate.com is Los Angeles residents' only site to get access to all top Hollywood VIP guestlist-only parties. Name a top venue and a top promoter; you'll find their events listed on LALate. Don't know how door operations run where you are. Basically in Los Angeles Trevor, for many of the top venues, it's guestlist only. Each venue is different -- the cover could be free, open bar, reduced cover, free for women/charge for guys, red carpet, line, no line, it all depends on the night, promoter, and format. LALate lists on average several dozen events per week for visitors to attend, the most comprehensive around. The site is of course free to use with a constantly updated calendar of events and RSVP contact info. Plus, if you want to get a sense of the scene before you attend, you can subscribe to the bi-weekly newsletter that gives you background on club gossip (new openings, etc.). Turning to Skybar, believe me, you're not the first out of towner that hears somewhere that you have to go to Skybar when in LA. You probably can skip Skybar unless you like their crowd; very pretentious, very "look at me" ... "can you help my career". Skybar is very successful and wonderful if you like that mood and has been "mirrored" by other venues like the W, Hotel Avalon, etc. Giant is okay if you like a huge production. LALate can give you the lowdown on a top party going down in Beverly Hills for New Years Eve (but I guess you bought your tickets already) that was thrown by the same people who did an incredible party on Halloween with incredibly beautiful women present. Truth being told, the week that you are coming is a very unpredictable week. Currently, promoters are switching venues and changing formats madly, driving LALate a little crazy. The season is slower considerably than before September. So to predict what's around the corner a few weeks from now is hard to tell. But that being said, week to week, LALate subscribers which are 98% women most choose these venues every week over other venues for their rsvps: A.D., Garden of Eden, Highlands, Joya, Dorscia (formerly Moomba), Las Palmas. So that's something to consider. If you like general bar scene, can help you on picks for that too. Feel free to post back. LALate.com www.lalate.com info@lalate.com
  6. Thanks for the offer! Is the question about "The Joint"? The Joint is a super tiny bar on ... believe it's Pico and Robertson ... it's for upcoming rock bands to get up and play a few sets .... (No recommendation came from here to go to the Joint lollll and no reccommendation from house4life for Joint (pretty sure house4life doesnt even know the place lol).... it's a cool place if your friend's band is playing ... but other than that ---- incredibly small (imagine 1/2 the first floor of Pig and Whistle), hideously loud (maybe louder than the Roxy) ) Good luck on the LSAT! Watch the games section. So when's the choice date? The 8th of December? If so, will check what venues have things happening that Sunday ... fyi, Sunday and Monday is super slow currently in LA.
  7. One other thing ... the other post is right ..... In LA, for guys, the tight t, or shinny dress shirt, with the overly gel'd spiking short hair and the short silver chain around the neck (like some of the dudes in the pic on the site) --- ... in some venues in LA that look works. .... in many venues in doesn't. That's why it helps to know the venue and the type of people it attracts.
  8. Thanks for the site. Nice site man. (Know Jersey well here.) The thing with LA is that remember Los Angeles is more low key than say NJ or NY. Different spirit, different attitude, etc. Of course as you know you can't neccessarily definitely use your same approach you use back home in the clubs in different states/countries .... you have to tailor your demeanor to the demeanor of the city. Especially in LA, not only is each club different, but the same club on different nights attracts different types of people. Any questions, post back. info@lalate.com LALATE.COM WWW.LALATE.COM
  9. We believe the guestlist for Red maybe is at www.nexxez.com. But the list is probably closed by now. LALate.com
  10. What does "Labor Day @ Carteret & Central" and "Tour of my traveling debut" mean ? Just wondering. LALate
  11. Hi.... Los Angeles has only one revolving foam party and it's very average. It would be best to look to San Diego that is exceptional for foam parties. Hope this helped. LALate
  12. Sassa -- We expect to have listed something for 18 + over people on NYE along with all the events for 21+ throughout the southland to choose from. Check back in the coming weeks. For now, lol, we are getting ready with so-called pre-thanksgiving parties. One holiday at a time LALATE
  13. If you like jazz, Jeff Goldblum's band (he plays keys) is really incredible. We've had listed events for him @ Moomba (now Dorscia) --- his band is just very, very good.
  14. Quaid is always playing with his band around town and is apparently the band is quite good. He was at the Argyle about 3 weeks ago. (Think the list was free before 10 pm or something like that.) LALATE

    Help Plz!~

Thanks for your comments. In regards to not seeing the bars, check your browser, it is probably preventing you from seeing java items like the bars. However, based upon your suggestion, we've switched that section from java back to basic HTML links to email directly! It's a new look. So check back. Thanks for your great advice. For Saturday --- Joya is great... so is Garden ... however, different crowds, different music .... Enjoy. (We can get you into both for free! Yes free.) LALATE.COM
  16. If anyone is spilling a drink with these top 3 ingredients near your clothes, run for the door! , because the stain probably won't come out: 1. cranberry 2. orange juice 3. cola And here's a tip --- if the venue is dark lighting, just wash the stain out in the restroom with lots of soap immediately cuz no one will see it -- you'll save having to throw the clothes away permanently. LALate
  17. Believe it or not, and this sounds sort of corny, buy from manufacturers whose clothes are TAILORED great for you. When you go out, the first thing that girls will notice is how the clothes hang on the guy. Every guy has a different body. Some clothes just don't work for some guys; for other guys they do. The best thing is to buy clothes that fit great on you and complement your body and look. Believe it or not, Ross and Marshals has great club clothes. You might be laughing but it's true. The great thang is to just grab a whole shopping cart worth of stuff and try it all on --- you'll be shocked --- a ribbed T that looked cool may not hang right on your body. Or a pair of simple cool jeans may look incredible. Here are some tips for dressing when going out for guys: 1. Throw extra clothes in the car. If your buddies drag you to a bar when you were going to some place like the Century Club, you're going to feel overdressed. 2. Layer! Esp now with winter here, throw that tank top or such underneath. When you are on the dancefloor with the ladies, you'll be happy you got a tank on. 3. Remember Lighting Guys forget that some places have terrible lighting. So if you walk in wearing black on black, and you have a body you want the ladies to see, they wont see it! 4. Attitude Wear the clothes that fit your attitude and your mood. 5. Don't pay much money. Never pay much money for club clothes and don't wear something that can get ruined by a spilled drink. Post back any more questions. Hope this helped. LALATE
  18. No reason to pay cover. There is a ton of cool places with very low or no cover. Sugar esp is cheap (of course, it's a simple venue). That other post mentioned $1 cover with flyer t'nite at RJs (new club opening, former rib joint, Beverly Hills). Question --- Anyone ever gone to "Jello" in Downtown LA or heard anything about it? Is it good, bad, any idea? Their site gets you in for $10. (jelloevents.com). Never heard of it here. LALate

    Help Plz!~

HTML ... Chime! Chime! ... Sorry, the html soundeffects didn't seem to work when we chimmed in. (joking lol).... Sure, EVEN in Los Angeles someone can get in for free on weekends. lol. Depends on what crowd, venue, attitude you want for the night.... Thurs --- RJs has a $1 cover in B Hills (see previous post) plus Joya is free on the list ... Friday how about Conga Room .... Saturday how about Joya or Garden of Eden .... Sunday how about Casa Escobar.... those all have free periods during the night for women on guestlist ... just check out those and many more listings to get on the guestlist of your choice on www.lalate.com. Be sure to RSVP early and list the names of guests. Any questions, post back. Hope that helped. Thanks for the plug weyes! And yeah - lasocialscene has good pics of what the venues/crowds look like (remember, different nights, sometimes different crowds). Enjoy!
  20. Love the Logo.... totally cool. We listed your event as our "New Club of the Week" on our newsletter for our subscribers. Good luck. LALATE
  21. Hey.... Well there is a catch 22 ... if you can choose the area but you have to pay for your own cabs, it will depend on what you want ... to be near shops, or the beach, or clubs. Santa Monica on the beach has some of the best hotels in California --- Shutters, Casa Del Mar, Lowes, etc. But Santa Monica only has a limited number of hangouts, no clubs (aka "discotects") but has great shopping, great food, lots of markets, etc. The great clubs (discotects) of Los Angeles are in West Hollywood and Hollywood. Beverly Hills abuts West Hollywood on the west and therefore is cheaper cab drive, but not cheap cheap, just cheaper. There you have the world's greatest hotels, expensive shopping, not too many markets (but enough to survive). West Hollywood is a more dense congested area like Hollywood. It too has some exceptional hotels (Ian Schrager's Hotel, etc.) and if you stay there you are in the middle of the nightlife. Not very easy for markets and very limited shopping. I would recommend, that if you are going out 3-5 times per week after work, rentacar yourself. LA is huge! And the price of cabs after two nights will be too much. With a car, stay on the beach in Santa Monica and from there drive where you want. For hotel info, try, what is it, la.citysearch.com. Good site, some of the sitegoer reviews are strange, but generally very helpful. Post back any questions you got. And if you want to get into the LA nightlife vip only events, then use lalate.com LALATE
  22. Wow. THAT'S incredible. Hope it does well. Tell Mr. Najjar that if he lets in guestlist people who are dressed fashionably, unlike Joya that generally won't let you in wearing jeans even if the jeans cost over $100 are were sold one block over on Rodeo Drive lollll, then RJ will do veryyyy well. Definitely going to tell our subscribers about this event & venue. Best regards LALate.com
  23. Is this in RJs for Ribs? Do they have a bar? Thanks. LALate
  24. Here to help you out. Is work paying for the hotel too? If money is no object, we can give you some suggestions as to which hotels are very good and centrally located. Basically, most of the top clubs in Los Angeles are from Hollywood (on the east) to Santa Monica (on the west). If you won't have a rentacar (because LA is very spread out), then you probably want a hotel that won't be too far by cab to where you wish to go. Post back. LALate
  25. Here's some (G-rated ones) -- 1. Having a girl give you her number but she is fainting in your arms as she writes it. 2. Talking to a girl about the internet and being told by her "I haven't gotten around to trying the internet. Is it really good?" 3. Seeing girls trying to punch each other on the dance floor but instead their swings start hitting everyone else nearby them. and one of my romantic favorites: 4. Meeting that nice girl who was in line behind u for the club 3 hours earlier and now you see her again sitting next store at an empty bar, alone and sad, and you finding out that she didn't get into the club because she wasn't on the list but is sooo happy to see you again. (Can we have some violins please? lol).
