  1. Dude, looping any song for 45 minutes is not 'hott', period.
  2. A trip to Ibiza is well worth it. It is expensive but worth every damn penny. You will never look at clubbing the same way after going to Ibiza. One thing that people forget about Ibiza, is that not only is it the party capital of the world, but it's a Mediterranean paradise. Go for a couple of weeks to really enjoy Ibiza, do some snorkeling, sailing, go see some sights (check out Atlantis, trust me on this one), lay out on the nude beaches with some of the most incredible women you'll ever see, then party hard at night. There's no place like it on earth for a clubber. You'll want to go back every year. The only place that comes close is the Greek islands.

  4. The difference is negligible. Believe me, there are many big name DJs, even those that spin at Crobar and Spirit for example, that use 320kbps MP3s that they've burned to CD. Granted WAVs are better quality (assuming it's a WAV file created from the source track and not a WAV file created from an MP3), but even on a big system the vast majority of people cannot really tell the difference, only true audiophiles can, and even then, I'm not convinced most audiophiles can tell the difference. Now if someone was using 128kbps or 192kbps MP3s that's one thing, but when you are dealing with 256kbps VBR or 320kbps, it becomes extremely difficult to tell the difference.
  5. Wasn't really feeling it until the last few hours. Even Danny admitted he wasn't into it on Friday. Good night, but I've heard MUCH better from Danny. As usual, that repulsive headshaker crew was in full effect, but overall, okay vibe. It only felt like an old Vinyl vibe at the end.
  6. Actually, if you wanna be accurate, it was 24 hours and 15 minutes.
  7. I can't decide who's a bigger fuckwit, djliqidtouch or djfabioc...
  8. Absolutely tore the place apart last night. WOW what a party.
  9. 1. DJ Fabio C 2. DJ Liqid Touch 3. DJ Gary Matthews 4. DJ Chop Trop 5. DJ John Digweed
  10. They are not the same. Without getting into boring technicalities, all Steve Dash systems are not created equal. Plus, Crobar has terrible acoustics because of the high ceilings. It sounded like shit for Sasha and Digweed. You can't compare the sound at Spirit and Crobar. Spirit wins hands down.
  11. It's a great sound system, but Twilo had better acoustics. It was a combination of the equipment and the layout of Twilo that made it sound so damn good in there. As for Movida, that system was built by Shorty, who built quite possibly the best sound system in the world right now (except for maybe Space Ibiza) at Stereo in Montreal. He also was the sound engineer at Twilo. It's all analog and sounds extremely powerful and crisp.
  12. Crobar's system sounds really muddy at times. Spirit has hands down the best sound system in for a big room in this city (still not better than Twilo or even Vinyl imo). Cielo is probably the best small room sound system, but watch out for Movida's sound system--quality!
  13. There are some busted chicks on that page. I voted for Adrianna.
  14. So thats what he's been doing since leaving CP.
  15. That's another thing, guys like Sasha and Digweed don't have to spend a fortune on records, they have promos, edits, unreleased material sent to them on a daily basis, especially Digweed being a radio host. Sasha has a team of people that work with him to screen tracks because he would not be able to keep up with all the new material he has access to.
  16. To be honest, there were under a handful of tracks I recognized. That's one of the things about Ableton that adds to the show. Around 3:30 or so Sasha and Digweed started playing together, not taking turns, both going at once. Digweed would have a track on, and Sasha would come in with Ableton, dropping elements of other tracks. There were periods in the night where it seemed like 4-5 tracks were playing out of the channels, tracks were time-stretched/compressed, bits and pieces of some tracks would flow into the main track; it makes it hard to recognize anything except other than the fact that it's good fuckin music.. It was very impressive technically. I'm definitely interested in seeing firsthand what Ableton can do now.
  17. You mean you don't post on Clubplanet when you have hot bitches at your home walking around in their underwear?
  18. You should have, I thought this was probably their best set together (that I've seen) since Twilo.
  19. Off the hook. Sasha is getting better and better with Ableton. Multiple tracks going at once, on the fly remixing, the works. Really hard to ID many tracks. Killer set by Sasha and Digweed.
  20. Ive never heard a bad set from those guys. In fact, every time I see them they seem to get better. Really nasty beats last night.
  21. Actually that is a better description. He can be a soulful house DJ when he wants to. He was one of the few DJs to play at the Paradise Garage and his roots are in soulful house, which is why I made a comparison to Roger Sanchez (albeit a poor man's S-Man). But lately he's been spinning a lot of commercial KTU-type garbage and trying too hard to spin too hard when he plays in New York.
  22. He's like a poor man's Roger Sanchez.
  23. This was by far the WORST WMC in recent memory. Too much drama, too many cops/undercovers/arrests all over the place, clubs packed way beyond capacity, clubs not honoring presale tickets because they were at overcapacity, clubs being shut down, parties being cancelled, the price of admission being jacked up at the door to absurd prices etc. A lot of the promoters and industry people there were not happy with the way the WMC worked out this year. It's been getting worse every year. Don't be surprised if the WMC is moved to another city next year. I heard a lot of talk about doing just that. I don't really think that will happen because Miami has a lot of advantages to other spots, but they should seriously consider it. With that said, there were still some good parties, with my hands down favorite parties being DT's Be Yourself party, Vibe, Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, That Kid Chris & Peter Tha Zouk at the Warehouse. I wont be returning to the conference next year if it's in Miami though, it's just not worth the hassle.
  24. Are you kidding? I don't go there and probably never will, but Webster Hall is a successful club and has been for years, regardless of how cheesy it is. It's a mainstream place that caters to a mainstream crowd that really doesn't care who the DJ is. Webster Hall has never really competed with the big clubs, Twilo, Tunnel, Vinyl etc., it's mostly a different audience altogether. I don't think WH will be bringing in the big DJs regularly and even if they do, they will still primarily cater to the touristy, cheese loving crowd.
  25. Actually, if you want to get technical and all nerdboy on us, its Sven Väth. Vaeth is perfectly correct as well. www.sven-vaeth.de His last name is pronounced the same way one would pronounce 'fate'.
