  1. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/news/wabc_123104_clubstabbing.html Stabbing Outside Chelsea Club (New York-WABC, December 31, 2004 ) — Seven people are in custody this morning after a stabbing outside a city nightclub. It happened outside the Old Limelight Club in Chelsea. Police say the altercation started inside the club early this morning then spilled out onto sixth avenue. Two men were stabbed, another was injured in the fight. They are being treated for minor injuries. The group arrested is facing robbery and assault charges.
  2. That is one of the absolute worst places to be on NYE. Unbelieveably crowded, next to impossible to find a bathroom, freezing and overall an annoying experience. Did it once years ago and would never do it again.
  3. That's right. Here's another article. http://www.benfieldhrc.org/SiteRoot/in_the_news/press_cuttings/Insurance%20Day/new_york_tsunami.htm If this were to happen, say goodbye to this country as you know it. It could potentially wipe out the entire eastern seaboard. So don't ever take it for granted and think you are safe because you live in New York. You could be enjoying today and be dead tomorrow. Appreciate life, family and friends while you have them.
  4. LOL. Yeah, he was also the same DJ that advertised himself for the Cosmic Gate party in 2002 at Exit as having spun in the past with Sasha, Digweed, Oakenfold and Carl Cox, and having spun in Ibiza and having been picked by the Ultra Music Festival as one of the world's 200 greatest electronic musicians. If you believe that, I have a steaming pile of shit to sell you. And how did his album do by the way, the one he said was out in stores: "This is my House"? Or maybe he was just having an identity crisis: http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?t=35526 I've been in this scene for quite a while too (and also work in bookings), and I never forget someone's rep. One thing I've learned from doing booking, you NEVER open your mouth before a party is booked, EVER. Of course, now he says it's planned for after the WMC, by that point everyone will have forgotten about it. That's why I don't believe a word he says, especially after being denied by people I respect at those agencies. But believe what you want. I'm simply trying to be the voice of reason. I'm so confident you're full of it, I'll never post a single word ever again if it does. And please don't send me private messages about your fiancee and how she works in bookings, I really don't give a shit.
  5. The Collective Agency used to be known as the Balance Promote Group. If you look at Joel's email it ends in TCA-web.com Should have stated that. My bad, but it doesn't change a damn thing.
  6. Maybe there's negativity because, ummmm, it's a crock of shit? Balance Promote does all of Digweed's domestic bookings. Safehouse Management does all of Cox and Digweed's global bookings. They flatly say it's not true that Carl Cox or Digweed are playing together, much less have any New York dates alone. Safehouse denies any bookings in Israel for Digweed. Yet this dude claims to have three contracts for Digweed. If you can't see through diarrhea of the mouth, then I can't help ya.
  7. One last word, if anyone has any doubt, contact: ian@safehousemanagement.com He handles Carl's bookings. He'll tell you the same thing.
  8. By the way, what reputable promoter (if there is such a thing) says shit like "I have 3 contracts with John Digweed". LOL If you're gonna lie, at least do a better job of not sounding like a liar.
  9. I just contacted Balance Promote about this and this is the email I received from Joel Zimmerman there: So please stop talking shit. Thanks.
  10. Seriously, if you just noticed this now, you've been living in a shell the past several years. There are many that go out all the time. In their daytime lives, a good number of them are ESCORTS. Yup, believe it or not, they find guys willing to PAY them to have sex. Sadly, I see a lot of guys who don't know any better and usually fucked up on drugs making out with these 'girls'. If they only knew lol. I don't care how big their tits are or how amazing their bodies are, that's a MAN baby! You sound like you're interested though.
  11. Actually, been there, done that. AVB isn't my thing, I've seen him 3 times. The only 'trance' DJ I can get into is PVD once in a while because he crosses genres like very few trance DJs do. Sure, many people start out listening to trance. Trance is the EDM equivalent of a gateway drug. Those days of really getting amped about trance parties for me are long over though. I prefer percussion, bass heavy tracks, tribal rhythms, soul, funk, etc. Not saying one is better than the other, but for me trance doesn't do it.
  12. Weird, because I see trance as the rotting apple with wormholes in it... Give me proper house music over melodic, fluffy, soul-less trance anytime. Just my opinion though.
  13. It's comparing apples to oranges. Though I'll see Hernan any day over AVB.
  14. Morillo was great. The vibe was okay. Like people have said, not enough people dancing, but rather standing around and posing. That's the one thing that annoys me about Crobar. If you had a dance vibe like Shelter parties or even the old Vinyl, that place would be top of my list.
  15. Button down shirt, I see lots of people with sneakers, but they can sometimes give you a hard time if they are too obvious. You can get away with Diesels etc. that look like shoes. Jeans are fine.
  16. And this is part of the reason why I stopped going to JP parties (music and drugs aside). I'm a large guy myself, but you don't see me taking my shirt off sweating bullets next to other people I party with. It's disgusting and shows no class. The ironic thing is that guys like this who juice and work out so hard to look good with their shirts off at clubs are usually the same ones you see on the dance floor mangled beyond belief on [insert drug of choice]. Instead of trying to look hard and cool in front of the cameras at Spirit, these retards might as well go to Roxy on Saturday nights, they'd fit right in.
  17. It's true, Stereo is the best club anywhere right now. It's everything Exit/Ikon wishes it was.
  18. I agree way too crowded. There were 5,000 people in the place when capacity is 3,000. Boris was blah. Tons of hot women though.
  19. Exactly. Danny has remained local the past few years. He chose to stay home last year rather than taking up a residency in Ibiza. He travels nowhere near as much as someone like Howells does, who is constantly on the road. He will be touring in the near future, Paris, London, Singapore, Ibiza next year and probably Portugal and Italy, so that will change.
  20. Oh and click on this link to Tiesto's site: http://website.tiesto.com/index1.html Right hand side, click "It's voting time again"
  21. Kind of hard to find DJ sites now that the voting has been over. I have seen them though I don't recall which DJ or DJs had the Top 100 banner up. But just as an example of what I'm referring to re: Turnmills, go to this link then click on the DJ Mag Top 100 banner. Not only do they campaign to vote for their residents, but they even fill out your rankings for you. http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:lMkSgkRuwqEJ:www.turnmills.co.uk/cityloud/news.html+%22dj+mag%22+%22top+100%22+turnmills+voting&hl=en
