  1. That's a pretty vague statement and untrue. Big could mean size or just mean that it's successful. Not too long ago, a club called crobar which is big in both dimensions had an 18 & over party for Sasha. Last time Moraes was here at Spirit, it also was an 18 & over party. I think you're incorrect.
  2. Wow! That is one funny looking picture. It's amazing how young Jr. looks and I'll bet he was probably around 40 something there too. That guy does not age. Guess being in this scene not only makes you feel young but look it. They are two ugly mofo's though, aren't they?
  3. This is pretty reminiscient of when Junior's, "Come Together" got leaked. Jr. even made a record out of his annoyance with how his remix got released before the date. Sounds like drama to me.
  4. Is this Opus 22? I've e-mailed and called this venue about their openturntables night and still haven't gotten a response back. Do you have a legitimate contact about trying to get a slot there?
  5. I've been there only once and the door man was ok I guess. My wife and I got in no problem but again, I did have my wife on my arm. When I was single, I didn't have a problem getting in most clubs. Just stop looking so desperate or pissed off, dress nice, and you should be fine unless you're still wearing Cavaricci's and wrestling shoes.
  6. If you're looking for a House DJ, please let me know by PM'ing me. I'd be happy to help.
  7. Wasn't there a shooting there not too long ago thanks to this new "urban vibe"?
  8. Can you please post the mailing address for the CD here? Thanks.
  9. Is that what you have done? Even for open-turntables, you still need to sign up I assume. I've done open-turntables in the past at other venues and I've either had to sign up or give a demo first. I doubt a pretty decent place like opus 22 will allow anyone off the street to just take hold of their valuable equipment. And if that is the case, what day and times are the open turn-tables?
  10. I heard some samples from junior's site from his new release mixed CD. It's way too vocally and commercial for my taste. I think I'll pass. Besides, even when Jr. was hot, his CD's were usually crap compared to what he really plays in the clubs. I don't get that.
  11. I've sent an e-mail to the web-site address a couple of times concerning the open turn-tables night. I've yet to get an answer. What gives? Anyone on here know who I should really contact concerning this matter? The booth looks hot! Thanks!
  12. They'll probably open the doors at 11 PM. Make the line slither into the door. And maybe 50 out of the couple hundred waiting will not have to pay. Still though, you never know and it may be worth checking out although I know nothing of these two DJ's. Whitmore I've never even heard of.
  13. This topic brings the song "You Don't Know Me" by Armand Van Helden to mind. It's tough to choose between the two but you're eventually gonna have to settle down some time in your life. I was very much in the scene and have pretty much given it up since getting married but, I do go out on rare occassions and when I'm actually spinning somewhere. Getting older will eventually make you kind of get tired of the scene naturally too.
  14. I'm going to be spinning another one hour set or so at Zen Lounge in Teaneck, NJ. It's a pretty small space with a decent setup. I'll be there on Wednesday, January 11 from 10-11 PM. Come on out & support. I think I'm going to go with more of a tech-house sound that night but nothing too crazy. I laid down a pretty tame set the last time since I was the opening DJ. The guy after me was hammering a pretty empty room. I just don't see the sense in that. But being that I'm the second DJ on the roster this time, I'll go slightly harder but nothing too hard either. Come out and support! Go to www.lounge-zen.com for directions and more info.
  15. Also tonight, crobar goes one step further to support the newest rising stars of the dance music world - check out the local DJ artist showcase: the flawless Sound of crobar in the Reed Room from 10 PM to Midnight. This week’s featured artist is Rob Rodriguez of 3 Speaker High. I'm intrigued. What is this about local DJ's? Who do I contact concerning this? Thanks and say more.
  16. Just wanted to let some of you peeps here know that I'll be spinning a one hour set at Zen Lounge in Teaneck, this Wednesday from 9-10 PM. gO TO WWW. lounge-zen.com on how to get there. Hope to see some people from the board there. I'll be happy to hand you a CD of my set that I'll be playing on Dec. 21st there. Peace.
  17. I'm with you. He looks as if he's humping the turntable. It kinda of grossed me out. If my favorite DJ did those moves in the booth, I probably would never want to look at him. Then again, I don't go out just to stare at the DJ either.
