  1. I give kudos where they are due ...these guys deserve mention, Dave Vasquez & Lunic
  2. workaround: ask for prices b4 you ask for your drink.
  3. I heard is closing in 3 months
  4. Although i do agree that the NYC club scene is dead, make sure to keep an open mind Having a good time in a club IS relative. So is "back in the day"... whose day? I'm sure the clubs that you thought were good back in the day were crap to others and vise versa. This thread caught my attention because my friend played systems many times "back in the day" but it was wack! but i do see that some people have fond memories of this place so all due respect to what they consider to be a good expereince, etc. KEEP THE CHANNEL OPEN!
  5. The only one worth mentioning for a consistantly good time time was life. The vip thursdays was the shit..with alex lauterstein on the main floor late. the others were alwasy changing parties and struggling. System was very bridge & tunnel corn but did have a nice sounds system nothing ever really took off there though. Expo only had the cafe con leche party to speak of but by the time it arrived at expo the party itself was weak and watered down by rob.
  6. Darling those SF shows can only emulate the theatrics that were brought at 27th street. Although i believe rafi mercado might have done work with Sound Factory on 27th...
  7. Obviously i need to make clear what i thought you guys would pick up on...the MENTALITY! if you are unhappy in you personal life, tired, jaded, not in it for true & honest reason IT WILL SHOW. SOme find positive refuge in clubs others sit back and complain and do nothing about it to improve the situation. silverbull you seems to have a healty attitude about clubbing right now i'm sure not everyone around does...sad but true. my thread was meant to spark a bit of self-reflection amongst you clubbers that is all..i was in no way complaining or not willing to do something about it as i do everyday asi work with a booking agent.
  8. Tisk tisk you didn't get it...read it again. start with your own MENTALITY. Thank you
  9. Well it sounds like we're on the same track. I would say most of the questions i asked, i asked myself years ago. I'm happy going out with a sense of wanting to discover something new, different, the next dj i will hail as god, LOL but it goes to show that most of the time PEOPLE are the tired ones who do not make the effort and do something about their nightlife just sit back and complain like losers....
  10. When was the last time you went out to a party that wasn't massively marketed and you've never been to before but consistently seen flyers for? or The last time you went out to hear a dj that you've heard good reviews about or have never heard but struck your curiousity? Went out knowing that there wouldn't be "things to do" when you got there and would have to rely soley on the music to "lift you up" Are you there for the music? Are you there to get high? Do you go out by yourself? Do you need a whole clan of friends to make your night a success and fun? FIX YOUR NITELIFE NYC!
  11. ooh please..you party the way you do BECAUSE there was the paradise garage!! did you get thru high school without a history book? did it really piss you off when they referenced george washington? lol
  12. HEyy no Fair, you're a DJ!! Whne is the next PARTY????!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. matter of opinion.... besides i doubt chocha & cebolla can carry a nyc crowd for 12 hours of afterhours music.
  14. Can't A girl get a break! For the last time i will go to a party in support of some djs based on the fact that they've played alongside djs (insert superstar dj names) get the gig and play on your own merit. it doens't mean you are any good! they open up for someone and then juice the shit out of the fact that they played alongside so & so. meanwhile they threw on a record while the djs was in the bathroom, lol Mater of fact alot of these names get people to open that they knwo won't upstage them i'm done.
  15. not to decrease value of this djs work BUT c'mon is this the future of djing? i don't see the talent...other than picking the best files for the program to do it's thing
  16. This is rocking!!! Love the older tracks!!
  17. This setr is wearing my ipod hard! Thanks again
