  1. The crowd was still gay :)

but there was a fair chair of girls also. It was actually fun; Frankie started with "Love will save the day" and moved on to harder things somehow. It was great to hear him again. The crowd was fun imho and everyone was enjoying the evening.

Short review but more will add I hope.

  2. i wish it was, and ive even done everytihng i could to try and help recreate that vibe that I used to love at my parties, and it just isnt happening here in NYC anymore.

Good post. I also had the same problem, and I think the fun might not be with the house scene anymore (I still love the music though).

I know the crowd at Motherfucker (rock) parties is young, dressed-up, cool, wild, fun...the way it should be. The only think is you have to deal with the music :)

But that scene's the closest I found to a true fun free vibe in the city.

    My 2c of course.

  3. bassboy said it all!

And that part about that specific messed-up asian crowd is true too: they're a big mess! and should not be let in any descent club.

It's actually ironic, the owner let the mess in to make a few buck but everyone who enters after is disgusted and swear not to come back anymore...not the right move to build a good crowd imho.

  4. I was hoping that employee did mean something else than "person who works for jvm" because the original statement is completely meaningless...wtf? who cares who works for him?

If one of those employee caused you trouble, take the high road and ignore them.

Regarding the set list, people always id the most obvious songs so it's not a surprise to always see the same tracks over and over again, and junior does play songs regularly (that's also why he has more classics attached to his name than most)...a good and a bad thing I suppose. I personally like it.

Anyway, I can't wait for "Relentless" classics.

    buq.

  5. That whole scene pretty much disintegrated after Twilo closed...best case scenario is that it's slowly coming back at different venues.

My bet would be Victor Calderone at Crobar next week. You'll have to go to specific nights, not just enter the club and hope to be at the right place.

Also, for the one who said Crobar was the place where it's happening...I am sorry but I've been to Crobar on a random Saturday and it was very lame, nothing near what Twilo or Vinyl was music wise, or crowd wise. It's all goody-goody in there.

Spirit on some occasion can be good to. Just hit the spot that plays the music you like, that's the safest bet.

Just know that DT, Cox, Sasha&Digweed, Jr, VC are all still around so you'll find something in there you'll enjoy I hope.

    Peace.

  6. anyone who knows anything knows that the media is bullshit anyways...

Yeah, I would not get all worked up because CBS or Disney is not featuring my favorite dj. Mass media are constantly mis-representing and dumbing down anything they touch, so be glad they stay away from what you like.

  7. i like the

"hey nice to see you , well i'm gonna tell you i'm going to get something to drink but really i'm just going to the other side of the dancefloor cause i don't really want to hang out with you"-dance.

or the "chase-you-across-the-floor"-dance where you are following or being followed by some other (cute) dancer....you notice hir and try to move away so you dance your way to the left side of the dance floor, 1 track later s/he's here again, dance your way all the way to the right ... 2 tracks later s/he's here again.... on and on for 1 hour.

I don't like the "why-the-fuck-are-you-doing-insane-dance-moves-when-the-club-is-so-crowded"-dance (there's a time and place for everything and starting your favorite hip-hop dance moves when the place is packed is not it).

  8. LOL!!!! rightttt!! you have no idea who i am!! believe me i got the caviar but dont go around winny like a bitch! and if you knew at all who you were talking to you would not say shit! bro!! and to think i thought you were all right from what i was reading in this thread! but if you want throw around words, i love it!! keep it coming queeny!

Well, you are sensitive!!!!! Maybe you should be more like the wise man on your avatar :)

You are correct, I do not know who you are; I only judge you from your posts. I think it's better, don't you? Do you need a name tag so people can applaud at what you say? I don't understand why you would say such a thing.

Also, you do not know who I am either, so we're even. Having said that, I do not think who you are would influence my opinion on the matter at hand (i.e. crowd). I have more intellectual integrity than that.

Humm....You may not realize this, but claiming on a message boards things like "If you knew who I really was" really does not do you a favor (specially after claiming I whine like a bitch; your post sure sounds like a real whine).

Finally, if you can't understand the simple argument I was making in my previous post, and can only equate it to "whining", I am sincerely sorry for you because it won't get simpler than that.

    All in All: Peace.

  9. like a negative energy to the building.

I kinda like this, in a sick weirdo (that I am) way.

Some room are definitely darker than others.

Crobar's very light for example (very open, super clean, new) ; Vinyl on the other hand had a dark thing going on I feel (specially when Danny was spinning those Saturday mornings).

As I said, I love the dark clubs better (less flufffy), you know, the rough, simple, space with giants speakers at the 4 corners. Make me feel more like an underground house party, dancing in a space we shouldn't be in :) .

  10. Ok, 1 in most of the clubs people are going to be shoved no matter what, 2. there are always drugs in the picture, 3. it is a "CLUB" 4. dont worry about it are you there for the people ? or the music? come on man give a rest :)

    Yes and No.

Yes, people go for the music, and No, not *only that*.

They also go to meet and have fun with people they can relate to in some ways because we are humans and humans are a social animal (and with the crowd he was talking about there's just nothing to relate to). Why do I have to state the obvious?

And I'm sorry but when a club's crowded you have to be mindfull of others and stop moving like you're the only one there, that's just a matter of being polite.
