  9. Hey Lola, Anthony...missed ya at the dinner? Here is my weekend... http://bbs.clubplanet.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021121.html Cheers! ------------------
  10. Wow what a marathon week/weekend…now I know what Pete was going through… Started on Wednesday at Cheetah…was fun, free drinks and free shots. Met some cool people too, hung out with Parish while I was there. Didn’t leave till got home at 3:30, had to work the next day. Thursday, did O’Hanlons (Irish Pub), Guernica, Plant, and THEN Liquids (where I saw a ton of peeps… didn’t get home till 4:30. Friday: Dinner meet up. Great time, but soooo tiring…trying to catch up with everybody in a short amount of time. Barely ate my dinner. Then, off to BarB…fun continues, night ramps up. Next, to The Cooler, where my friends Ming + FS are spinning some MAD drum n bass. This was probably one of the BEST musical experiences I’ve ever had. It was THAT good. Danced my ass off, trying to keep up with the mad b-boyz and the breaking chicks there. MC Izlam was off da hook, freestylin like crazy. I was moving constantly without stop for those 3 hours. This really was the equivalent of 2 nights worth of Twilo (intense dancing wise) in 1 set. So….by the time I got to Richie Hawtin, I was dying. Took a couple hours to re-charge (and a couple Red Bulls). As soon as the music got good at 4:30, I was up and at’em again. When I left at 8… SSpecial thanks to Sarah for giving me a lift home…that was HUGE…you rewl, and I owe you a lunch Slept for only 5 hours…woke up around 3. Went off to cook dinner with Vejita, Crommy, and MrNice in Queens…had a great time…then guess what? More clubbing! Stopped off at this place on 32 between 5th and Madison called Nix? All I can say is, it had an interesting crowd and music… Finally, went to Twilo again. Made it right at 2am, right before Dave Seaman. Let me tell you, it was one of the best sets I’ve ever heard at Twilo. I’m now totally confused: between Howells, Lawler, Seaman, PVD, can’t decide who played the best set I’ve heard at Twilo… I haven’t been this sore all over since rowing varsity in college. Wow. Thankfully, wound down the weekend with Diego at Plant…thanks to Danielle, Aaron, Dyani, Steph, Pete, who came. ------------------
  11. Hey! I haven't met you yet, prolly will at PVD. Actually, I spent a semester in China...first 8 months of 1997. Studied in Nanjing from Feb to May, travelled all over (and I mean all over...went to Tibet!). Then, worked in Shanghai over the summer. Actually, did some mad clubbing in Shanghai...did you ever make it to Total? Best club in Shanghai... You gotta give me an update about what it's like over there now... ------------------

  20. Hey Junglekttn: Is that the Organic Grooves party that you posted? I've been waiting to hear Ming&FS for a while...Cooler for me 2nite ------------------
  21. Ima go look for that on Napster...sounds cool tho...sounds like they might be bringing in some organic sounds (jazz/soul/funk layered over the phat beats...) Where do you play? Do you play in NYC? What is your DJ name? ------------------
  22. Go to Nell's. 14th between 7th and 8th. Jazz upstairs, hip hop downstairs. Friendly crowd, NOT sketchy. If I'm doin' hip hop, that's where I go. Maybe meetup there sometime? Not many hip hop headz on this board... 2nite = The Cooler...drum'n'bass ------------------
  23. This board is dominated by trance and house headz. I admit, I'm one of them. But I also love drum & bass. Ming & FS, from Hell's Kitchen right here in NYC, are playing at The Cooler Friday night. I'm going to head over there after the meet-up dinner. All and any should stop by...I guarantee you will like the music. We should figure out someplace inside to meet-up... Friday Feb 2nd @ the Cooler Ming+FS (Om Records, Madhattan Studios) 4 turntable set BLESTeNATION (Madhattan Studios) Mike Ladd Siraiki Daddy Dog 9pm + $10 with flyer The Cooler is located at: 418 West 14th Street. (btwn 9th and 10th ave) NY,NY ------------------ [This message has been edited by furnace (edited 02-02-2001).]
  24. B2B...great quote... Nikilina: Like Mikey sed, none of us know him, but as a guy, such words can have many meanings. Basically, if you've been having a couple of rough weeks, it probably got to a point where he realized that you weren't what he wanted. RBY is right: if he's 8 yrs older, he's probably at a different point in his life and found that out during the rough couple of weeks. I also agree with Mikey...you shouldn't need to think about a relationship abstractly...it's not a thing to take a step back from. It's something you live or you don't. If he has to "conclude" something, it just seems really calculated... love <> economics...not a cost benefit analysis... I could throw some cliche's at you here, but I'm sure you know'em. Think about it this way...cliches are such since they are true and bear repeating. I'm sure you've lived through a few yourself, I know I have. BTW, you're from Philly? What are some good places to go there? I'm sorta from the area, but haven't been back in years and years. When I'm back these days, I'm visiting old buddies...would love to get them into clubbing. -D ------------------ [This message has been edited by furnace (edited 02-01-2001).]
  25. Hey Frank...I prefer Beachcoma over Kill City, but def. agree with you on Finished Symphony. Agree also with the simpletons comment...Hybrid is a very well done blend of new electronic music based on classical music underpinnings. Very unique, tight. Cheese? Music for the masses? Hm, I didn't realize things changed depreciated in quality as more people like them... ------------------
