  1. Crap, no one every played 1-2-3? What about kick the can? We had EPIC games of 1-2-3 in our neighborhood...from 3 pm to midnight... ------------------
  2. Get any of the Global Underground's Nubreed series: Anthony Pappa Danny Howells Steve Lawler ------------------
  3. I heard that you should be dressed a certain way... ------------------
  4. Ayep, even though Oaky's Tranceport is a bit past its prime, it definitely takes me back to a time and a place that was pretty important, an event that allows me to be here today talkin' to all y'all... Two thumbs up Al! -D ------------------
  5. Island...that is correct! I owe you a drink...make sure you come to the next meetup dinner! Alternatively, if you go to Lawler this Friday, go to the meetup...I think it's 3am at the Powerbar. If you meet anyone fron ClubNYC, they know who I am. Or, Sat. go to Gatecrasher. I think the meetup is at 3am in the fishtank room, but you better check EZDreamer's thread for that. -Dennis ------------------
  6. I love these brain teaser things. Here's one, Mr.Sick... A wealthy man lives in the penthouse of an 80 story building. On rainy days, he takes the elevator down to work. After work, he comes home and takes the elevator back up. On sunny days, he takes the elevator down to work. After work, he comes home and takes the elevator to the 69th floor and walks the last eleven floors up. There is not elevator operator in this building. Why does he do this? For the first one that figures this out, I'll buy a drink at the next dinner meetup... ------------------
  7. Isn't that VIP? What if they don't let us in? ------------------
  8. One two three Dennis... One two three IN!!! Wahoooo! ------------------
  9. I have a friend who jumps in north Jersey, closer than upstate. He actually jumps with a group that has set a world record for a certain stunt. I'm totally up for it. y'all comin' out to Lawler on Friday? We can talk then... ------------------
  10. Hey Meli... Just curious... Do you plan on buying her cd? Or going to her concert (assuming you had a free schedule). Just wondering, cuz of the whole Napster debate, etc. etc. I know that personally, when I download stuff by an artist, and I end up liking it, I end up buying a cd or two. See you Sat! -Den ------------------
  11. Hey Waana, get well soon! We need your craziness to keep us sane! -Den ------------------
  12. Sup Brett! Danielle, Aaron, Jesse, and I have kept the torch lit for ya...your spot at Twilo is safe. Good to hear you are alive. When's your next time out? -Dennis ------------------
  13. Well said, Eric. I guess my long-ass post is about what I enjoy...currently. So as Jilly said, stop complaining about older people and stick to your raves and kiddie parties... ------------------
  14. Well, first off, as I'm sure we all know, generalizations bring drama, cuz there are always exceptions to the rule. However... Foxyroxy: I am not bashing young clubbers. I have friends that are young clubbers/ravers (ScottySkribz, Clubmouse for example). I AM making a few observations. After a hiatus from raving (with no shortage of distraction in Toronto and NYC), I went to Unified in New Rochelle to catch Dave Ralph and Christopher Lawrence. Whether it was a change in my perspective or a change in the rave scene, the “vibe” that ANDYWHYSEE was talking about was terrible. I bring up this rave, since it is safe to say that raves draw a much younger crowd than clubs. First of all, at coat check people were pushing and shoving instead of queuing up. Second of all, as I walked in around midnight, there were already “puddles” all over the place. By “puddles” I refer to groups of kids to cracked out drugs they couldn’t move and I doubt they knew where they were. What a great vibe, to have to pick my way through as if I were in a minefield. Third, the music. Perhaps I am showing an evolution in my taste of music, but after a night at Twilo, going to a rave where the DJ changes every hour doesn’t really do it for me. Dave Ralph and Christopher Lawrence did the best they could to build a set in an hour. But whoever it was after Dave Ralph, was so laughable, I left. How better to kill a vibe than to play pounding techno and then follow it up with “One More Time” by Daft Punk? And what better way to enjoy such delectable mixing skills by being cracked out in a puddle on the floor? Spacegirl’s DAT tape probably hits the spot, since her drumming hands out of sync with the beat aren’t visible to eyes rolled into the back of the head… Again, not all young people behave this way. I am not bashing young ravers or clubbers. But I never see people pushing in the coat check at 25 or 28 year old filled Twilo... ------------------ [This message has been edited by furnace (edited 02-27-2001).]
  15. Is it true that Keoki (sp?) also no shows alot? I went to Limelight last summer once, and it was supposed to be him I think, and he didn't show up. ------------------
  16. Thanks for the response. I only needed 1-2 people, but I will see if they are willing to take more. If it's only 1 or 2, I will take in the order received (timestamp on PM's and posts...) Thanks! ------------------
  17. Sup Scott, Ben... You guys are added to the list. Who knows, maybe they will take more than 2 ppl... Y'all keep replying and I'll let you know as soon as I know where... Movie shoots are always changing and running late, etc., so don't even be surprised if they change the date too...but then budgets try to keep them son schedule. ------------------
  18. My friend and I were dancing at Twilo last Fri. having a great time at Digweed... Guy walks up to me and asks us to dance in a movie. I get the info and call this morning. Lo and behold, I'm gonna be outta town the day they are shooting the dance scene! But my loss is your opportunity. The movie is called Out of the Darkness. It is being shot by Guardian Enternainment and has already been picked up by Trimark Pictures. It is slated for summer release. It is a movie shot in the style of Kids, that movie about teens in NYC. It is about a bunch of homeless people throwing an underground party. Keoki(sp?) is supposed to be spinning for this rave scene. I heard he's always on time and punctual (HA!) I think my friend is going, I'm not sure yet, so I need at least 1, MAYBE 2 people. The date is March 11th, but the final location has not been picked. You will receive food, and *might* be paid. I'm gonna warn ya...it could take all day. I've been on movie sets before, and they shoot, reshoot, and shoot again. But, if it's good music, and to be in a movie, it should be fun to keep dancin'! And most people are picked, so there should be many good dancers... Post here if you're interested. Since I can't be in the movie, I'd love to see one of you guys in it this summer! ------------------ [This message has been edited by furnace (edited 02-26-2001).]

  20. WAAAHOOOOOOO!!!! Can't wait to get my hanz on dis one... Psyched! Interested in seeing where they take their sound... ------------------
  21. Are we officially supposed to try it? When he posted it, he told us to test... ------------------
  22. Totally agree with Wizard... Just cuz we haven't heard it work yet, doesn't mean it won't or can't. How do you think alot of the tribal got started. Perhaps country/bluegrass wouldn't be exactly right for trance, but maybe some ohter more beat driven electronic form... I'm looking forward to hearing new stuff... ------------------
  23. Arthur! Congrats... Let's see, down here are blueangel, shannah, matta, me, roby, and more... -D ------------------
  24. I'm in...if you can wait 'til my lease is up in July...hehe How much, btw? ------------------
  25. Have you ever tried Nell's? 14th st. between 7th and 8th. Lemme know if you want me to take you some time. Dunno when the next time will be for me though... ------------------
